First all I need to clarify this so nobody starts fights. I am female, against feminism but am not a misogynist, i am not a conservative, I don't seek male attention, I am not anti-abortion, I am not "trad" and I am not a slut, I don't have male friends. I have my own reason for not being feminist. I will not talk about it because it takes too long, most of you will just try to start fights about my reasons why in order to nitpick so I am not going to explain this, don't bring it up.
Now something I think is a really weird tradition that I think in english speaking countries comes from conservitard americans is when a male, instead of asking the female for a relationship, he asks the parents whether he is allowed to or not. Now people say this is just a tradition that shows "respect" but that makes no sense in any way, because it is obviously from some bullshit arrange marriage culture where the female wanting to be with the male doesn't actually matter, only that he got the parents permission… Like I have seen stories where the family forces the female to be with the male when she doesn't want to… The guy is using the parents as goons to make sure they force her into a relationship with him… Its really weird…
Anyway, post traditions you think are weird.

>>188833Well alright, but you could have made this thread about strange traditions without your weird rant about 'not being a feminist'
nonny.
>Catherinette"Catherinettes was a traditional French label for women of twenty-five years old who were still unmarried by the Feast of Saint Catherine (25 November). A special celebration was offered to them on this day and everyone wished them a swift end to their single status."
Nowadays, it's just celebrated with a goofy hat that your friends made for you but it's still a bit odd and reminds me of the Japanese "Christmas cake" saying.

>>188858Why the fuck does it matter what your parents think though?
My mum was angry when my now husband did not ask her for her "permission" to marry me (she was always a single mother so she said she should be asked like she is the father)
