Due to an incident on August 29th 2024, all the images on /ot/ were deleted. We managed to restore the majority of the images through various methods. To read more about this, check this thread:

Current recovery status:
Only 627 missing images remaining out of 320,118

Updates were slow for a while as we worked through the forensically recovered files, which required some manual work to do effectively. Unfortunately, some images couldn't be recovered. As far as we can tell, many of these were lost well before the incident. The oldest posts appear to have been lost when the threads were moved from /g/ to /ot/ many years ago.

If you have any of the missing images, you can send them in bulk to admin@lolcow.farm, or you can report a post with a missing image and put an image URL as the report reason. We appreciate anyone who can contribute!

Every doodle board has a theme to encourage creativity. There are currently 4 main boards that are cycled through, and when the current board is nearly full a poll will be posted for users to vote on the next theme. Polls stay up for about 2-3 days, and they are your sign that the board will be cleared soon. A picture of the completed board and the new theme name will be posted. Occasional reminders will be posted with the link and theme of the current board. Miss the previous theme? That's alright! Just go to the previous board and add your doodle. Make sure to post it to the thread when you're done.

If you have any theme requests, please post them! We always appreciate new theme suggestions. Themes are merely a suggestion, you can draw whatever you like on the board but please keep in mind that we have a shitpost/no theme board.

Aside from the main board(s), there may also be multiple active side boards at any given time. These side boards have themes such as coloring book, vent/horror, shitposting/no theme, etc.

If you make a new layer and then leave the board you may not be able to access that layer again due to restrictions put on the boards to protect against raids and defacing. In this case, feel free to ask in this thread for your layer back and an admin will assist you.

In general, please do not be afraid to ask for help with anything. Admins cannot be active 24/7 but we will try to help you work out any issues as soon as possible.

Helped my mother resize and compress 6 pngs that she'd scanned at 600dpi so they were 34mbs in total and gmail kept telling her it couldn't send them. After teaching her, she managed to get them all down to 5mbs, turn 3 images into a pdf, and put all the files in a zip file to send in an email. She was gonna make a 55 mile trip just to deliver them.

Ive been getting better at speaking my other native language, which I'm quite proud of. I am still afraid my skill level makes me look stupid, but only less so than before, when I forgot words every other sentence. I feel truly bilingual now. It's a shame my dad was shitty, he was supposed to inoculate me into his culture and now I just have to do this myself. I hope it will be easier for me to be myself in my native language if I keep this up.

There are plenty of narcissists and antisocial people that are excellent workers and achieve high positions in various fields. Being diagnosed narcissistic or antisocial doesn't automatically mean you're american psycho. It just means they function in a different way but still can adjust to what is expected of them in the job, since their main goal is supporting themselves they will usually want to work efficiently to earn money. For example, I would say most people working at tv stations have rather strong narcissistic traits because the jobs there synergize well with those traits and there are other positions in which it's just easier for people with these traits to achieve more.

Well it depends, but it shouldn't be a hiring criteria. It can be a valid reason to fire them when they under perform or cause issues, but when hiring I doubt anything else matters more than qualifications and experience. I have a few narcs in my family and they all excel at their work while being awful people in their private lives.

Far from the most embarrassing thing you can do in that state, kek. People bring alcohol to work parties with the expectation something like this will happen, it's pretty normal.
I imagine this is only slightly embarrassing for an extrovert. I would be a little more sheepish if another co-worker said I did this though, but that's because I'm generally afraid of being myself in front of people.

This is something that's constantly on my mind too as someone who is about to turn 28. When I have to tell people my age it just feels bad now in general, like they expect me to have everything figured out but I don't at all. It makes me feel like I can't relax or take my time with anything anymore as well, like time is running out and I already wasted too much of it. I'll also get people taking jabs at me with saying I'm old when they're only a few years younger than me (like 23-24), though at least it hasn't happened when applying to jobs or internships in particular. I'm a full time student and I travel so far every day that I have no time to work. I know I don't qualify as a neet due to the education aspect but I sure feel like one. I have basically zero work experience since I spent my entire childhood and teenage years on study. I qualify for neetbux from the government for young people and get it, and I'm too depressed to try applying anywhere. Who's going to hire a retarded ass adult with no experience? Even the entry level jobs only allow little high schoolers because they're expected to have no experience.

Not too crazy, but my school's prerequisites for studying music or art were that you needed to have classes outside of school. If you're too lazy to teach kids then why offer the subject? Classes were literally just performances, no theory taught, and you were graded on performances. If you studied music you needed to provide details of your tutor/musical school, have at least an average high grade with your instrument system (like grade 8 concert piano or whatever term/system they use), it was odd.

I'm using these terms for convenience, but what I meant by 'beta' is 'male that couldn't reproduce without outside help (enforced monogamy, resource hoarding, etc)- as opposed to a male that would get women in any kind of system by being attractive. You are correct that male hierarchy in general is a manifestation of the UMP. I disagree, though, that the dejected whining you're observing is the fault of capitalism, it's more like the fault of something they thought was guaranteed (essentially a government assigned gf that has to 'choose' between you and death in the street) coming suddenly to an end. These conditions were absolutely the result of a large group of low-status males coming together to make sure there was always someone there to absorb their violent outbursts and infantile needs. These parasitic urges aren't the fault of the 'wealthy elite' or any other external force. Unless you mean it's the fault of those at the top trying to placate the eternal chimpout in the first place, in which case maybe.
