Not sure if it belongs in fashion general. Let's talk style goals:
>1. How would you describe your favorite style, aesthetic, or vibe?
>2. What are some essential clothing pieces or accessories for the style?
>3. What is your favorite style of makeup? Is it something you expect to go with the clothing style, or do you think it subverts expectations?
>4. How about hair? Do you see common themes hairstyles or cuts for this particular look?
>5. Describe your actual personal style. Think favorite outfits in your actual wardrobe, or your own best makeup looks. How does your personal style compare with your fave?
>6. If your personal style doesn't match your style goals, why do you think that is? What do you think you need to get there?
>7. Looks aside, are there any particular hobbies, skills, or activities that make the vibe?
This thread isn't to encourage people to become carbon copies of each other. There is a lot to be said for being true to yourself and subverting expectations. However, sometimes we could use a little help when our outward expression doesn't quite match our personal goals.

i’ve seen my chosen personal style be referred to as “minimalist luxe” which i guess is sort of accurate but i tend to incorporate quirkier colors and accessories to keep myself from feeling too corporate if that makes sense. sort of a south of france artist vibe.

my essentials: black boots, white chunky sneakers, blazers (especially cropped ones), “interesting” earrings, gold, FRAGRANCE (anything medicinal/herbaceous/citrusy, i have several scents for various seasons and occasions. heretic parfum is extra special bc the dry downs are so unique to your chemistry)

makeup and hair stays pretty neutral, i have a mullet-y shag that was cut so well (almost 9 months ago now) that i don’t have to do much to it for it to fall in a flattering way. love a solid graphic eyeliner either way.

last q about hobbies that help make the style is great— i’ve been working slowly on reading gomorrah in italian, it has a cool cover so i like to have it around . it’s a slow read because it’s so graphic that i have to stop every 12 pages or so to gather myself. natural wine, well-rolled spliffs, oysters, prosecco, gracious and generous hosting (like at my house, my bar cart is always full) are all part of the vibe for me.

as a mild autist i spend a lot of time & energy constructing this whole aesthetic. turns out that work is in and of itself the aesthetic anyway. last and only hurdle is getting fitter and thinner so the clothes hang off me in the way i want them to. for now i’m a lil chunky and quite sick of it so i’m spending 3 days a week at the gym bustin ass. anything for the vibe …,

picrel
