I think these little wild plant zines are cute:

Oh yay a thread 4 me !
I love tiger meat by Maddy Price, pic related.
Also love a lot of Ginette Lapalme's zines, she does some really fun playing with shapes/binding (though I haven't got any of hers since like 2015), and my all time favourite is Chill Pill by Katya Dorokhina but the pics online don't do it justice- the neon risograph looks 2222 amazing irl.

I know this is probabaly a well known bi-yearly zine, but I've been really liking INDUSTRY's zines (they're made by oxford university students). I've so far got 2 issues and they're both really good so far, even though I haven't read them fully

it seems zines have becoming quite commercialized in recent years. i'm seeing a lot of places selling them and treating zines like a income generating side hustle instead of just a passion project where you are selfpublishing to share your interests with a similar community. i can understand asking someone to help cover the shipping and materials cost, but there are people who are making zines for money which kind of goes against the spirit of the hobby. some creators are even saying not to photocopy and redistribute their zines, even though that has always been an aspect of zine culture. i'm wondering where this shift happened?

>>445444that's such a shame. it seems we're just in an era where alt subcultures are seen as money makers. i haven't been to a zine fair or distro in a while. i last went to a distro last year, but the prices had gotten quite high ($12 usd for one of those 1 page minizines, $20-30 for anything stapled it seemed), and honesty many of the titles were a bit too tumblrpolitik for my tastes. I've been enjoying reading through the internet archive's zine collections though. there's some real trash in there for sure, but there are a few uploads of music zines and skateboard zines from the 90s that are fun to look at. it's interesting to see what people thought of popular bands at the time, which ones they liked and didn't like, what they thought of band members leaving, and I have even found some new-to-me bands through them too as some will detail new releases and do interviews from their local music scene.

>>445885I like to put them in those "little library" repositories. Not sure if anyone reads them from there, but I like to think so.
