I listened to "Class of 2013" on repeat on my 25th birthday while crying. It just felt like it summed up everything I was feeling in that moment, that I hadn't done enough, and it was all crashing down on me, it was too late, it was over. I'd missed my chance at doing anything with my life. I could no longer keep dreaming. Kind of lost my mind that year, literally had a break down and heavily considered committing suicide. Eventually I got better. I'm still figuring things out, but that's OK. It's going to be alright

Your Best American Girl. When it dropped it randomly showed up on my Spotify. Then after a couple repeated listens I watched the music video and wept KEK. I don’t think I’ll ever like another Mitski song more. I recently bought a cassette player and just ordered the Puberty 2 tape! I like Be The Cowboy more as a record than the others and Nobody would have been my favorite from it, but Geyser is really amazing.

I love Bury Me at Makeout Creek so fucking much. I think Texas Reznikoff or Francis Forever are the songs I cried the most to. But my favorite song by her is definitely My Body's Made of Crushed Little Stars, I absolutely love energy of the distorted guitar and her screaming voice paired with the desperate lyrics. I wish she had more songs like that.

Oh wow, I can relate anon. That song brings up similar feelings in me. I started feeling this around my 16th birthday because I knew I was going nowhere even then. I spent most of my teen years and very early 20's institutionalized or super catatonic locked in my room. I lost almost everything that people associate with those years. I still dread my birthday. Worst time of the year. I feel so melancholic and go into an unstable tailspin. Glad you are doing better.

Bury Me At Makeout Creek was my fav album (tbh the only album I’ve completely listened too just because I’m kinda extremely hesitant and slow to branch out) but Once More To See You and Your Best American Girl are definitely some favorites of mine. Other than that, Carry Me Out, I Will, I Don’t Smoke, Drunk Walk Home, and Townie are great. I’ll end up listing most of the album if I don’t stop here.

Reposting to add that I had this album during a very lonely period in my life and I appreciate it greatly for that.
