This is fucking disgusting, wtf is wrong with men. From an interview:

>“It was in the script that he had to rape her in a way,” the director said. “And we were having with Marlon breakfast on the floor of the flat where we were shooting. And there was a baguette and there was butter, and we looked at each other and without saying anything, we knew what we wanted.”

(1972 film, but oh well). The director of 'Last Tango In Paris' admitted that the infamous butter anal rape scene between Marlon Brando and Maria Schneider, taped according to his instructions, was non-consensual - because he wanted the actress to feel 'humiliation'. Bernardo Bertolucci said in an interview he didn't tell Schneider what was going to happen because he wanted her to react 'as a girl, not as an actress'. Schneider was 19, Brando 48.

Has anyone seen Illuminaughties video on Judy Garland today?

All that stuff about her diet is insane. When she was 13, they put her on a diet of cottage cheese and black coffee with cigarette. Thir-fucking-teen years old, and had informants follow her to ensure she was sticking to her diet.

It's awful to think that by 17 years of age she married some 30 year old predator just to feel wanted. She ended up being pressured into an abortion by that moid, her mother, and her manager

Idk if this is interesting to anyone, but I've always wondered how Bruce Lee suddenly died at the young age of 32 while he was allegedly superhealthy so I did some digging around for info (again, 1970s, so not really old Hollywood, sorry).

So apparently he was a heavy user - he used coke, hash, LSD and weed on a regular basis (his wife knew about this and actually accepted it because he convinced her that he need all of these for his training, to achieve the best physical state. She even asked a family friend 'not to worry about his coke use because he's not going overboard with it').

He also worked out like crazy and had a weird diet (drank cowblood apparently because it's full of protein…yuck). He also had Cortisone shots for the pain he endured from his senseless trainings. From the drugs and the Cortisone he started sweating heavily and since he thought sweat looked awkward on film, he had his sweatglands surgically removed. He also used electric apparatuses for stimulating his muscles even when he was resting and he also fasted mindlessly. All of these things led to him pushing his body to its limits and he collapsed on a woman's bed he was cheating on his wife with.

Because his family obviously wanted to preserve his image, they just went with the 'random rare allergic reaction to painkiller' story.

Tl;dr: scrotes are insane and Bruce Lee was no exception

I used to admire Old Hollywood actresses because they seemingly had something that actresses nowadays don't but I'm not sure what it is - a kind of regal air? Dignity? Poise? Idk. But then I read on some articles how even they had to fuck their way to get roles and had to endure perverted directors and producers and the whole thing is just so sad. I guess I was naive because I thought things were different back then

I agree re regality. I've always assumed as life was more conservative then, women on screen had to be treated with a little more respect? I'll try to find it but I think someone (Geena Davis institute?) demonstrated that Old Hollywood films passed the Bechdel taste at a much higher rate. The number of women, the age of women and the complexity of female roles in films has actually decreased with time.

a lot of this had to do with the Hays code, while the code is most famous for banning risque sexual shots and violence it also allowed female actresses to be given roles that didn't have them be sexualized in, they were defined not by their romantic interests or sex appeal, they were journalists, scientists and leading women, also the laws made sure that no one of any faith or creed could be mocked or insulted
So I mean it had positive and negative impacts

Good choice. And she's another weird Hollywood Asian race case like Merle Oberon, but flipped this time. Her mother was white British and Nancy looked mixed, she was fairly white-passing before Hollywood made her undergo an extreme "oriental" make-over and trapped her into playing exotic roles. I seem to remember reading she said European work was better, they didn't typecast re ethnicity.

Also fun fact about Bruce Lee, he had his underarm sweat glands removed in 1972, for anyone wondering why he might have taken this surgery, it should be stated that East Asians don't produce body odor due to large scale dominance of the gene ABCC11(which stops them from producing sweat that attracts bacteria that cause body odour) As a consequence, deodorant is a rare commodity and for the rare minority of people in East Asia that do have body odor, they are pressured to just have surgery so that they don't "smell"
Bruce was 1/4th German on his mother's side and hid his Eurasian ancestry, that's why his kids came out mostly white passing

Errol Flynn was a pervert. Had his house altered to spy on guests and diddle himself.

>Ladies bathroom had two-way mirrors and a speaker system.

>Two-way mirror installed above a guest bedroom. Above the mirror was the attic, accessible through a crawlspace from one of the upstairs bedrooms. In the attic a trap door lifted up, revealing the see-through mirror.
>Bathrooms had peepholes and ceilings with squares of opaque glass through which you can't see out but someone can see in.
>The house had two viewing tubes, like reverse periscopes, on the second floor that looked down on the first. You could look down from the second floor to see who was coming in. He had another one down by the den.

The Blue Gardenia (1953, Directed by Fritz Lang [Metropolis], starring Anne Baxter [All About Eve] and Richard Conte). Not normally into film noir (so I don't know how this stacks up for the genre), but I watched it for the director and let's just say it's no Metropolis. Anne Baxter was gorgeous as usual, but that's about all she offered to the movie. She was far and away outshone by her elder roommate (played by Ann Sothern). Best part of the movie for me was just getting to see the living situation of three grown women sharing an apartment. The twist ending was too little, too late for me and the love-interest angle was just so whatever. Would have been happier if Anne Baxter just went to jail for being so boring. All she did was like, whimper the whole time.

Film noir, 1951 - The acting was fine enough, but the main character (Kirk Douglas) was so unlikeable (on purpose) that the whole movie just felt like a chore. His wife ended up being reasonably based though, so good on the writers for that. It's basically 'Falling Down'; both have a Douglas and both are IIIII'M THE BAD GUY? >Nine years after Pryor's death, in 2014 the biographical book Becoming Richard Pryor by Scott Saul stated that Pryor "acknowledged his bisexuality"[69] and in 2018, Quincy Jones and Pryor's widow Jennifer Lee claimed that Pryor had had a sexual relationship with Marlon Brando, and that Pryor was open about his bisexuality with his friends.[70][71] Pryor's daughter Rain later disputed the claim,[72] to which Lee stated that Rain was in denial about her father's bisexuality.[73] Lee later told TMZ, in explanation, that "it was the 70s! Drugs were still good… If you did enough cocaine, you’d fuck a radiator and send it flowers in the morning".[74][75] In his autobiography Pryor Convictions, Pryor admitted to having a two-week sexual relationship with a transvestite, which he called "two weeks of being gay."[76] In 1977, he said at a gay rights show at the Hollywood Bowl, "I have sucked a dick."[77]
