Everybody hates this show but I adored it and ended up rewatching it dozens of times, unironically my favorite from cartoon network

>>377223>>377196Children's media from around 2008 has always been overhated online. Think a lot of it was just teenagers aging out of the target audience for this kind of stuff and looking down on it as "immature." This is less of a thing now that internet has supplanted television, 2024 tweens aren't really being exposed to
new annoying kids show the way 2008 tweens were exposed to Fanboy and Chum Chum or whatever.
This kind of content has also kind of died off, was trying to find a cartoon from within the past couple years to namedrop and they're practically all aimed at adults/all audiences or very very young kids.

I don’t care if it’s moid tier, I’ve watched Breaking Bad like 20 times. I’ll put it on as background noise, when I feel sick, when I’m miserable, sometimes when I’m just bored. I love watching it and thinking about the play by play from other characters perspectives. The more I watch it the more I understand Skyler, her fear of what Walt’s capable of (will he follow her if she flees, find her in the next state over? How far is far enough?), her kids deserve to know their father and he’s a good man, she’s pregnant with no job and he’s a stand up guy in their community while people around her look in disgust at her cheating and being a homemaker. He lies to her, puts their whole life and that of their kids on the line for his fucking pride!? She cheats on him in an attempt to hurt him hopefully enough to get him to fuck off but even that doesn’t work. He tries to rape her regardless of the harm the position might put their unborn child in if she were to lose her balance because he’s horny. She doesn’t flee because she knows his ire will compel him to hunt her down and eliminate her like his other problems. She has to pretend at the devil because he needs to think she’s a bigger villain as capable as him to have any power. The more I relate to Marie, managing the man in her life, picking his career above all else and just being supportive because life is fine otherwise. When it’s not she can take back control, assert herself by stealing something, by putting others down because she knows she can’t control others so why bother trying? Thinking about how the family goes on to deal with the aftermath of the monstrous man in their midst who they thought was a loving provider. How quick Walt is to grow violent when he feels threatened, even if that threat is his wife telling him she’s afraid of him and wants the children somewhere else. Gus playing the straight business man when his whole motivation is revenge at all costs, damn the business. How Mike resigns himself to the role of villain because he knows there’s no coming back from being a bad man. Jesse constantly being exploited and looking confused while he exploits others because he’s too dumb and selfish to think outside himself, only to end up in a situation he can’t rationalize and can never be anything but the exploitation he happily rained down on others for mad stacks yo. It’s just, idk, I enjoy it. I like the color theories and repeat shots. It’s good stuff if you’re into that kind of thing.

i've lost count of how many times i've listened to the last podcast on the left's serial killer episodes. they just crack me up. and i'm not trying to be an edgelord, i just love the way they make fun of the killers in question. henry's impressions are hilarious, marcus brings the information and reminders to be empathetic, ben is (was) the skeptical "straight man" for henry to bounce off of, and i like the energy that ed is bringing in ben's place.
i know true crime can be a dicey subject and there's always the question of exploitation/disrespect etc but i find the show weirdly comforting

does anyone else discover an album, fall in love with it, and then autistically only listen to that album on repeat until they find a new one to obsess over? sometimes i'll do that and only add a few tracks from the album to my playlist once i've got it out of my system, but picrel are ones that i routinely get back into the habit of listening to (exclusively) again. the mcr album was my first ever favourite album and according to last.fm i listened to it for a period of just over three weeks straight this year. it's a pain in the ass and limits my ability to listen to as much new music as i would like to but maybe other nonnies can relate (or maybe im just a tard)

>music
These are not the only artists/albums I keep listening to over the years but these are the most special to me. I only listen to the earlier Mushroomhead's stuff and this album's been my favorite for almost 20 years now. It's perfect to me, I LOVE it, I'm always in a mood for it. PJ Harvey is the goddess I worship, surely I listen to other albums as well but these I'd say the most. Songs from b-sides are the most loopable for me. Tori Amos, Radiohead, Garbage, and Tool have been with me for many years and I never get tired of them, they're just an essential part of my life, Type O Negative is newer in comparison but quickly became dear to me - especially Burnt Flowers Fallen, In Praise Of Bacchus, WolF Moon. Also some songs I'm always happy to hear and will never get sick of: Iggy and the Stooges - Gimme Danger (perfection), Hole - Jennifer's Body, Egor i Opizdenevshie - Ophelia, David Bowie - China Girl (I don't even think it's his best one), No Doubt - Happy Now, Cocteau Twins - Five Ten Fiftyfold and Persephone, Dead Can Dance - Enigma of the Absolute, Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows - Shave, if You Love Me (Remix). Other songs I get obsessed with but get tired eventually and will skip them, these - never!
>games
It's the only game I've been replaying time and time again. I don't play that much but when I want to, I'll most likely go for this one, even though I'm sure I'd enjoy some other games I've been hearing about and I hope I'll try them some day. It's pretty old in every possible sense but I LOVE it and forgive it certain things like being targeted to men, ridiculous physics with boobs jumping from every little movement and hair going straight up when riding the elevator, and catacombs. I don't even try to make the experience different each time because most of the time I just pick female Malkavian. Next time I'll try some mods that drastically change the game. I like the atmosphere, characters, dialogues, music, it has nostalgic value for me so it's always nice to come back to.
>shows
I often rewatch these or turn on for background noise. When I watch/listen to X-Files, I usually go for seasons 3-7. They're great shows, what else can I say? I love and rewatch other shows as well but these are the only ones I've seen an autistic amount of times.
>books
I don't really reread anything else lately (for the last 9 or so years). Even if I want to, I'd rather read something new - but I'm always happy to reread anything by Meyrink, especially these.
I didn't include movies because I don't really rewatch anything purposefully as an adult that many times. As a child, I would rewatch some films billions of times, and I'd still be happy to rewatch any of them if I saw them on TV but I won't download them each year or something, you know? I prefer to watch new movies or ones I haven't seen in a while.

With the exception of a few tracks, this album is so relaxing. I love ambient in general but the droning effect is so comforting. I usually have it on loop when I'm reading
