It's been years since I've torrented because I got my wifi shut down and have been too scared since.
I tend to trust mega links from 4chan for now

Thanks for making this thread, anon!
Fun story: I once got slapped on the wrist at my college for torrenting Sex and the City (out of all things lmao). They had bans on all torrent sites, but I was able to bypass them by adding a bunch of magnet links while back home. Then, I'd open transmission when I returned to campus and continue downloading. The IT guy who gave me a warning had no clue how I bypassed their bans and I didn't tell him.
Also, relatedly, HBO is the only reason I've received a DMCA notice. They do not fuck around.

I mostly pirate books (from Anna’s archive), read fan translations of manga and mostly watch tv shows on pirate streaming services from my country, like rezka dot ag. It’s actually pretty good, and has tons of shows. Mind you, it’s in Russian/Ukrainian but there’s always “original + subs” option, so English-speaking nonnies can use it too.

NTA but uTorrent is adware/nagware shit, it used to be decent but it's been years since it went to shit, now it's full of ads that may contain malware and I think it has a "premium" version. qBittorrent is FOSS, has no ads, and it's perfectly functional and clean.

I usually rip DVDs with English subs using Format Factory, but sometimes it fails and the subs don't get preserved. Any good alternative?

>Where to find [x] media

Where can I find OSTs to old anime, like Angel Links? The usual anime torrent sites don't have it, but I'm sure at least some of it must have been ripped at one time, because I could pick up the tracks in anime pirate radios (RIP Armitunes).
Also, RIP https://nipponsei.minglong.org and Hikari-no-Akari :
>Hikari-no-Akari, a long-established pirate site that specialized in Japanese music, has closed its doors voluntarily. The drastic decision comes shortly after Sony Music Entertainment Japan obtained a subpoena, requiring Cloudflare to share the personal details of the operator. Despite the shutdown, the Recording Industry Association of Japan still plans to hold the site's operator accountable.

If it's that particular anime you want I just found the OSTs on soulseek and am downloading them, I can reupload them for you. It's only the actual OSTs though, not the OP or ED singles.

I can help you with this, nona. If you're looking for something older than mid 2010s, go to https://tenshi.spb dot ru/anime-ost/. It's a directory with Japanese names for anime. Click on the name of the title you're looking for, and you will see the OSTs. I checked, and Angel Links are right there.
Also, just FYI, it's not a torrent, just direct downloads.

i havent torrented in probably 7 or so years and i feel totally out of the loop. i used to use qbittorrent but i never re-installed it when i got a new computer. since i mostly torrented music by that point and i'd rather just use link converters or soulseek.
i'm hesitant to go back to torrenting but lately i wanna watch different shows or movies and i don't want to watch them on any of those sketchy sites. i was using archive.org to download a lot of old movies (and i managed to find a couple shows) but now that my only source is gone, i'm lost again. i don't even remember where i used to torrent movies/shows at all

i used to pirate 24/7 back in 2010-2013 but now i feel totally lost. where do people go for shows and movies nowadays? are there places where you can just download the files themselves like on archive as opposed to setting up torrenting? any help would be appreciated, search engines are so shit nowadays and the internet is dying

I use both. Stremio/Debrid for popular movies/shows and torrents for obscure movies. Stremio gives me some mental relief because I have limited hard drive space and hate managing it, it pisses me off when my drive is full but I want to watch something else now. I use mostly private trackers so I can't delete my files right away. Also the Debrid feature that lets you get a premium experience with file hosters is handy although I wish it had Nitroflare.

I've never pirated a game before (minus old roms) but with the new DA coming out in a few days I'd like to know how and where because I'm not giving money to that troonery. I was a bit apprehensive about pirating on my laptop since it was new so I've been extra careful with it, but since the new DA is drm free it should be fairly easy compared to all those installers you have to mount. Please endow me with your knowledge.

https://1337x.to/ is the site I usually use. As usual, make sure to have uBlock Origin enabled before browsing. When choosing which to download, I recommend going for the most popular upload, assuming that there will be multiple uploads for DAV. This means the upload with the most seeds (the green numbers). Preferably, there will also be comments saying if the game is safe/works. I've never had any issues with malware or viruses from 1337x, but you can never be too safe. Then, once you've decided, right click on the green magnet download icon and select 'copy link'. Next, you'll need a torrent client. I use qBittorent. In qBittorent, in the upper left corner, there is a chain icon. Click that and a window will pop up. The link you've copied should show up. Select 'download'. You can choose where you want the file to download to and whatnot. You can also download using torrent files if you'd like. You'll just have to add them using the '+' icon. I prefer magnet links because they're simpler. Once you've started downloading, click on the little arrows at the bottom of qBittorent. Here, you can throttle your download/upload speeds. Limiting these can be useful if you share your internet connection with others. Otherwise, it'll download/upload at max speeds and slow things down if you try to use the internet at the same time. I usually limit my upload speeds. Downloading a game like DAV will take a while but once it's done, you can choose to 'seed' the game for a bit, to help other people download it. Or, if you're a leech like me, you can just stop the file and remove it from qBittorent. Modern games will come with instructions on how to install them, so follow that. If you're really worried, you can scan for viruses before opening the file you've downloaded. Just note that sometimes antiviruses will detect false positives. I'm not sure if DAV will try to connect to the internet while playing, so you might want to prevent it from being able to by adding a rule to your firewall. Or just play while disconnected from the internet.

Just torrent the fitgirl repack when it comes out. Use the magnet links from their website (fitgirl-repacks.site) and it's just download and run the installer, it'll be already cracked and couldn't be simpler. You can even choose to exclude unnecessary files too to decrease the install size.

I'm shocked old deemix builds still work even with a premium ARL, I used to use the shit out of it like 5-6 years ago and I thought the exploit was long gone.
