wind isn't so regular in timing, i think it should be held a bit longer at its extended state. Like wind will blow one direction for a moment then quickly change and blow another so the only really quick parts should be the moment the wind changes. i think. not an animator tho

Good on you for protecting yourself Nona. Even if I'm a retard that can't figure out anything beyond a direct link. I'm a newbie but I wanna try my hand at animation. I'm curious about everyone's inspirations for animation. Mine feel a bit like a weird mix but mine is Satoshi Kon and Don Bluth. I really like how Bluth balances darker grittier backdrops with whimsical characters (which is especially refreshing when I look at how candy colored a lot of animated movies that came out this year) and I'm reading his books on storyboarding and animation, likewise I like how Kon balances a really dark societal backdrop with reality bending and the different paths it takes from more lighthearted to more horrifying all wrapped up in these fluid sequences.

the link is encoded just google nona youll find out how to use itFINALLY i get to sperg about my favorite animators and animation styles, first of all i really like the approach to animation their rotoscopic animation doesnt look too realistic like you see in new anime (the jjk shit looks so fucking ugly and fake if i want to see realistic anime ill just watch a fucking movie), although that approach takes time i really love how reminiscent it is of older disney if you pay attention closely you can sometimes see little details you might miss sometimes i personally love the work of jocelyn charles alot, as for the japnese animators i personally love i love Yoshiaki Kawajiri realistic and bold gritty animation and otsuka yasou's limited nuamericana animation i also love satoshis work aswell,i really miss the weight you used to see in older anime nowadays everything looks so flimsy and shitty (plus the color palates reek )imo theres no distinct character animators nor unique ways of tackling anime unless you go looking for indie(i think the french have the nips beat in that regard) as for the americans definitely don bluth and james baxter (that man isnt human im sure) i also love a iranina niche animator kek reza riahi and Farkhondeh Torabi puppet work

I love Richard Williams, I was really bummed that he passed away before I had a chance to attend one of his talks. Obviously he was a bit of a coomer moid, but I really love the psychedelic, fish-eye-lens stuff he does. It's incredible that Who Framed Roger Rabbit was animated at 24fps without in-betweens– it's all keyframes. I imagine this was done in part to make the animation gel better with the live-action footage, but it may also be a component of Williams' style.

Is Clip Studio EX pirateable or going on sale again before the end of the year? I made an animation for a class recently but Pro only lets you do up to 24 frames, so it was super short.

No. 438670

A good video on some famous female animators. Also I think to keep the thread from being punted into oblivion some creative tasks should be regular here to keep fellow animenonas animating, gartic phones animation level can be fun to participate and I'm thinking we could have weekly or monthly assigned themes too like how old /ic/ animation boards used to have or even the 42 hour animation short film or even a year end lc exclusive animation short flim to reflect back on your progress, what do you think? If any nonas have any other suggestions do reply!

Anyone use blender for 3d mock-ups? I dabble in pixel art animations, it's a much easier and streamlined process than you'd think
