I really thought this shit was normal, kek.
But like what happened with Jay, I was not the perfect little sjw angel as I presented myself to be, and eventually got cannibalized. Later, I checked myself into therapy and cut off most of my sjw friends.
It's weird to now witness all of this happening to people I knew, who I used to respect. I cant help but feel bad knowing all of this are just huge signs of mental illnesses. It's so fucked up.
While, I dont wish ill will with these type, I cant help but feel bad for them. They are so insufferable now, and it's probably because they have nothing good in real life. Sometimes, I wonder if I should leak out shit my former sjw friends did that would be now seen as
problematic. But other times, I prefer to watch the fire from a distance.

You are right though that a lot of it is manifestations of mental illness and I'm sympathetic to the situation itself, in that these groups do trap people from seeking recovery and treatment and generally just improving their lives overall, like what happened to you.

I'm really glad I'm not involved with any of these people anymore because my mental health was terrible the whole time, I now have a normal, chill group of online friends and I'm much happier.

This video kinda goes into more detail than the other annoying one where they practically couldn't explain why people are upset in detail: 'pedophilic art'. One character was 18, the other character being below 13 and shown practical sex scenes between them, many rape scenes (To be honest some just seem like it wasn't trying to pass as a sexual assault scene but maybe it's because how it's portrayed until they get into an actual comic where a character wanted to remain friends and got raped and suffer of course, trauma from it but it makes a joke about it) , etc.
I understand people realizing that these things were majorly uncomfortable and overboard as they grow, even I saw this as I was younger but had a few questions in my mind, but then again I moved on and blocked the person. I decided to take a look at the character design on a whim, as I had no idea what Infinity Train was. This entire time I was under the impression that the character's gloves were white.
But no, actually the gloves she wears (idk her name) are a grey purple color just a little lighter than the character's skin tone. So Wong making the gloves more white pink and way lighter lends itself even more to the fact that the skin color is about as light as it should be when considering this.

Most male artists I follow don't post anything political. At most they'll probably rt something about charity or generalized political views/topics but nothing that is hard left or right-leaning. Most male artists don't draw something that attracts boomers and if some BS is going on, many don't post about it day after day and drag it out.
Take Kawanocy for example. People tried to cancel him for "child grooming" because of the comic between two of his own characters. He made his statement about it and then moved on and basically showed that he didn't give a fuck and was going to continue drawing his characters. All he did was explain their relationship and ask people to stop making inappropriate assumptions saying he supported child grooming.
With female artists, I noticed many tend to apologize for the content they create. When it comes to 'cancel culture", especially over fictional content, you really need to be unapologetic about it. You can explain some things but never say "I'm sorry" for it. For whatever reason, many female artists attract people that care about the "message" of the artwork whereas male artists have an audience of people that just like the artwork. A lot of female artists tend to be very personal about their beliefs, experiences, etc. which IMO creates an increased parasocial relationship so when they do something that is "out of line" the audience is shocked and immediately deems them as a bad, horrible awful person. From the male artists I follow, at most they'll post about going to the gym, weight loss, a new video game/movie/tvshow, etc. but are largely impersonal.
The best way to avoid getting canceled is to just be unapologetic. If it is a major fuck up, sure then say sorry but then move on… Don't bring it up again, just go back to regularly scheduled programming like what Sakimichan did when people got close to "canceling' her over liking tweets from Candace Owens.

That planted the seed in my head that, hey, this shit may be kind of horrible for my mental well being.
Then I joined twitter, sort of got back into the whole cancel culture thing again until about 2 years ago after I finally had a wake up call when I saw people in my friend group throwing out another long time friend just because she dared to draw things that they didn't like (like noncon porn of two fully adult anime characters). This was a girl we spent years talking to and bonding with that they basically threw out and ignored like she was a piece of trash just because she was drawing stuff that she's confided to us was a trauma she dealt with.
It disgusted me so much. I rarely if ever make friends online anymore because 9/10 times they're extremely political and vengeful.
The clout is only worth it if you're trying to get into the art industry by networking, or you can just say fuck it all and be like Vivziepop and do your own thing.

-over shares their trauma/mental health issues (maybe autistic at best)
As a warning though, some of my friends were completely normal when I first met them. Then months into the friendship they became increasingly unhinged. You have to play it by ear.
