1. Predatory sexual behavior towards creators and fans


- In may 2024 multiple victims gave accounts against Karl for predatory sexual behavior to a high number of small to midsize female streamers ranging from 18-29yo, in 2020-2021. The allegations collectively described him reaching out via private DMs, weaponizing his public „asexual, innocent softboy“ persona as a calculated ploy to gain trust quickly and leverage the power imbalance to obtain nudes and sexts, trying „to sleep with every girl in the scene“. Reports claimed he lead each woman to believe they were monogamous, while sexting everyone simoultaneously. Due to rising communication among female streamgroups, the ruse got exposed eventually, with many stating to have suffered longterm distress. Criticism included: gaslighting, humiliation, serial cheating, manipulation, malicious misrepresentation of an already marginalized sexual orientation and „slimy, predatory men like him“ as the main reason some left the industry alltogether. Victims stated they were scared shitless to come forward after receiving death threats and because of his plattform size, with mods repeatedly taking the allegations down asap. Note: The timeframe correlates with Karl's public tweets in December 2020 - April 2021 of mass flirting with female celebrities, following escort collegegirls on instagram and the general assumption that he is „Friend B“ in the 2020 Punz-Drama exposed March 2024, in which Karl allegedly flirted and exchanged nudes with Punz girlfriend. During the mass sexting above, he in contrast cosplayed virgin niceguy™ on twitter. The stirred concerns up, not about what orientation Karl actually has – that can express many different ways and is nobody's business - but how his communications of the matter he DID share publicly, seem weirdly misleading and contradictory, especially when alleged victims put it in a deceitful context.

- Karl owns the discord server of the July 2024 leaked massages between Kris Tyson and underage fans exchanging inappropriate messages, which lead to allegations of grooming, pedophilia and hosting loli porn, terminating Kris from any Mr.B related franchise. Karl was part of the chats, with minors claiming they „simped for him“, and how he „would give them ice cream and money if they did stuff for him“. He joined Kris in the reallife meetups and was aware of Kris' behavior, yet neither then nor now spoke out against them or showed any action regarding instances jeopardizing minors safety. - When in pursuit of women on social media, he regularly instructed reputable fellow streamers „to vouch“ for him publicly. This resulted in many trust evoking comments under the targeted womens posts, regardless of his peer's claims being deliberate lies and the women being unable to tell. During his public crush on a retail worker in bath & bodyworks, he admitted to repeatedly lie to her to get her to talk to him, frequenting her workplace to check if she was available and it ending with her informing him she's moving away. 2. Public Controversies


- The Banter Live fiasco: Karl claimed Twitchon sucked and him and his friends could put up a way better convention on their own. This statement likely came from their collective DreamSMP panel getting overrun with young fans, leading them to believe the popularity would translate to them individually. Karl, GeorgeNF and Sapnap organized a podcast live event, which then, in contrast to their confident predictions, got cancelled last minute after a month long run of misinfo and lack of updates towards fans due to a lack of sales. Fans were mad and left with already booked unrefundable flights + hotels. When Karl finally issued a late twitter response, he described venue staff as „difficult to work with“ and it all being „an absurd mix up“. It was then uncovered, the actual reason for the cancellation was due to their violation of the venue's contract: If it's still far underbooked at a certain time shortly before the date, an additional deposit was needed to cover unsold tickets expenses, otherwise it would shut down. The later booked location was much smaller/outdated as advertised and fans called the incident a „needed reality check for Karl, George and Sapnap, poor management and incompetent communication.“ Non of this was ever admitted to or addressed in any public way. - The Dropout Drama: Karl, always very outspoken as anti-college for years, was asked by an Austin highschool to give a speech how to "Get a 75% chance of getting into an ivy-league university". That hypocricy didn't sit well with fans, debating: how a college dropout with no degree would be qualified, him being a self-proclaimed highschool bully and troublemaker who got multiple suspensions, that he actively encouraged his teen viewers to "skip classes, sleep or schooldays alltogether" in favor of watching him stream and his consistent history of shitting all over the education system. - Wasting professional's time and resources by disrespecting interviewers and organizers with trolling, lying, stonewalling, deliberate cringe or selfpromotion. - His official facebook page got hacked and still posts videos of women masturbating and having sex with animals (https://www.facebook.com/karl0fficial/), which disregarding his young fanbase, is still not recovered or taken down. 3. Not paying and not crediting Artists:

- Has an unprofessional and exploitative reputation among the artist community, examples: didn't pay Ammiedude, the artist of his twitch emotes for months, to a point were she took it online to warn people and keep asking for her money. SAD-ist, a recognized DSMP fanartist, was relentlessly pestered by Karl and his fanbase to include him in their animatics, to a point where her and other artists begged them to stop the pressure and hate. - Has an uncredited team that works on all of his mainchannel minecraft builds (phrased to be „his“ in videos, never „we created/my team created“. 4. Plagiarism, content theft and copyright violations


- Fans of affected franchises critisized, that while some instances in his streams or shortfilms are clear „references“ to pop culture, many ideas and designs are blatantly plagiarising established shows/video games without credit or disclosure of such „inspiration“, with the majority of his fanbase being too young to know and recognize the original sources from the 90s and 2000s. Examples: „The Other Side“ from Tales of the SMP emulates Kingdom Hearts „Castle Oblivion“, having the same design down to the tiles and logos, same functions around amnesia and realm travel, same storyline with the protagonist losing his memories, the emphasis of experiencing/saving people through these memories, having the hero trapped in a huge egg, imitating place names and Karl using the same signature style „intro cards“ and the original music tracks of Kingdom Hearts. Further criticism was directed towards parallels in Journeyed Home to Psychonauts, FNAF, The Legend of Zelda, Funhouse and others, with The Lost Tapes thematically duplicating The Hunger Games including identical challenges, and his favorite show Survivor. - He stole thumbnails, jokes, tweets, art and smaller creator video ideas 1:1 to a point where people in the comments were going off on him because they knew the originals. (Screenshots (R)) He used to heavily lean on establishing the image of him „pioneering/revolutionizing the streaming space“ with his content, yet almost exclusively emulated well established concepts of others, the minecraft builds are outsourced and the storylines usually have significant plotholes or no cohesive narrative, Banter Podcast was regularly criticised for „not being able to sit through it“ due to lacking structure and being riddled with interruptions to a point of complete incoherence. - Was involved in at least 3 crashes of totalling vehicles with people involved within 2 years and got at least 4 tickets for speeding under 1 year, while in process of getting a pilot's licence, claiming he likes to „whip his car like a certified nescar driver“ and never staying within speedlimit. - Stated he „loves to mess“ with people and „get in their heads to their breaking point“, relentlessly pissing them off and hurting them when refs or peers are not looking until they snap (mentions a local yu-gi-oh turnament in which he repeatedly insulted a rival player until he got in his face (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKMz3BvqHW0 21:40 – 25:25) yet starts to bitch and snap at friends in front of others / imitating them in disrespectful ways when provoked himself. - Has a record of damaging property that isn't his or risking somebody elses deposit, despite his peers instructing him to be careful, then him getting a kick out of doing it anyway. 6. Degrading friends, coworkers and contestants


- Uses discriminating language to seperate himself from „subpar status people“ which he calls derogatory „NPCs“ or „normies“ on multiple occasions. „You have to talk to fucking normies at an airport” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGtLXPY3byc 2:07:04-2:07:10) „I hate those fucking NPCs“ describing a group of friendly fans recognizing him and the Mr.B-crew in public transit or how people „despawn“ the second they stop talking to them, while referring to himself through terms like „Sigma“, „King“ or „Daddy“. - Bullying, insulting, or endangering friends, exposing uncomfortable information on purpose or hysterically laughing at the discomfort/pain of others, to a point where his mother tells him live on stream on the phone to stop the bullying (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCCnhVqcUCI 16:08 – 17:27). 2. Spreading rumors and lies about fellow streamers for his entertainment, that sound believable and affected their reputation by young fans, who couldn't possibly tell the difference. When people pointed out the actual damage this caused (lost views, shitstorm comment sections), Karl called it „pranks“ and that „people are just too dumb to know it's not his fault“. 3. Bragging about being generous, then immediately using it as leverage to be disproportionally petty and resentful, conflating friend's complacency with the right to his „kindness“. Example: Karl talked about paying for his guests meals (as he can't cook) and when GeorgeNF doesn't act in a way he approves of, Karl punished him by excluding him as the only dinner he wouldn't pay for then and future. 4. Lying to Tubbo about saving game progress, causing him to lose 300$ and Karl saying he wasn't even sorry if Tubbo is „so dumb to believe him“ / making fun of him every time he makes a semantic mistake due to his Dyslexia and Karl just won't let the bugging go, despite Tubbo's visible embarassment. 5. Making up offensive songs poking fun at his peers insecurities or describing in cruel detail torture and killings of their pets and families, making people in public uncomfortable as „a prank“, doing weird bits with parents ratting out minors (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/J3P8YjCDXVM) Breaking/hiding, then losing other people's belongings and leaving them on read on end (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IEdNkYV8Vg 2:57 – 4:43)

- Caused outrage for arrogant discord leaks – still matter of debate if they're real or not, with majority of the fandom assuming legitimacy. If so, Karl heavily shittalked his collaborators behind their backs to his moderators and fans, claiming to „carry their careers“, criticizing their content and stating he'd rather pay good money to not have to go to Twitchcon Paris unlike his excitement pretense towards fans. - Finds ways to hijack or destroy emotional moments (death of a creator, wedding, birth, achievement, award) with making it about himself through inappropriate self-marketing or deliberate awkwardness. - General history of diverting the focus off him when questioned, by throwing a fellow creator under the bus or guilt-tripping. (example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCCnhVqcUCI 16:00 – 17:25) He often underestimates the impact of his actions and acts as if ignoring it makes it not real. Displays conveniently selective perception and memory, acts oblivious or aggressive when called out and gets infantilized by his fanbase to absolve him of any accountability. He usually joins in by calling himself a „man child“ and „not a real adult“ well into his twenties, with fans excusing any action with „he could never do anything ever to make me hate him“. 7. Manipulation and exploitation of underage fans


- There's longstanding criticism against Karl heavily fostering and then monetizing on parasocial relationships to generate twitch income through underage fans donations. He would relentlessly push for subscriptions with manipulation tactics that overstep adequate marketing strategies. Examples:
Building queerbait narratives with his friends and gatekeep „vaguely spicy interactions“ behind astronomic subgoals (basically exploiting infatuated fans „fanfiction-mindset“ by romantisizing/sexualising platonic friendships), escalate personal stories that evoked the impression of him opening up, until their peak part turns out another gatekept ploy for subs, bait with invitelinks to join his gaming servers teasing the hope fans could play with him and him then refusing any interactions, withhold hyped up announcements that turned out merch plugs as subgoal „reveals“, acting up intense crocodile tears on command or jokingly threaten to harm himself/a friend if he didn't reach a subgoal in a certain time, rallying fans to expensive hypetrains using buzzwords usually used for a good cause charity, making empty promises that weaponized fan's infatuation/projection with him, like „if you sub now, maaaayybee (insert inappropriate parasocial bone throwing) is gonna happen?“, uses pseudo inclusive slogans like „We almost made it, come on! Don't let the hypetrain die, please! Can we reach the next level? He's aware his fanbase majorly consists of 13-17yo girls, among them young lgqbt+ neurodivergent kids and teenagers with a self-proclaimed search for belonging, (Screenshot (L)) and he knows their developmental stage does not yet provide the critical thinking capacity or maturity to spot and assert boundaries against parasocial exploitation. Example: Parents accused him to con devoted teenage girls out of thousands of dollars every month under the claim he uses the money to fund his „passion projects“, just to then slap a pricetag on them a second time, as he sells said products for round two back to the same fans, who already paid for their creation, so when he promotes his „passion project“-merch/comic/game/clothing, he somehow manages to convince fans he did something „generous for“ them, instead of having the nerve to milk them for a cash grab twice. Example: „My kid thought that they HAD to donate to you and are you kidding me, this is the environment you're establishing?“ with him giving the weak argument „Donations have never been mandatory“ and „Just don't spend money which you can't“ acting as if he doesn't do anything in his power to spike subs with aforementioned “donate X for Y to happen” schemes and promptly blameshifted it on the plattform. Ironically, in the same segment he tries to push for prime subscriptions again, instructing kids to just link their parents accounts, again without consent, as surely „nobody's parent would get mad if you link their amazon to twitch“.

Note: People were so infuriated by his many ignorance-strategies, they started to question if he deliberately crafted a universal neurodivergence/ LGQBT+/ace umbrella around his persona to appropriate as a „minority card“ to shield him from any accountability when criticism emerged. If this didn't fly, he would retort to acting out dramatic behavior or diffuse negative attention to another person, to divert from the accusations. 8. Unethical, illegal and threatening behavior in online/gaming spaces


- Karl ran up accounts with friends, meaning he stole artists music and artworks to upload and assumed their identity, then sold the accounts for money, when they reached thousands of followers. This caused the original artists to miss out on dividents, lose trust of fans directing their support towards false personas and having their work illegally spread without pay. - He routinely scammed kids by pretending to be „their new friend“ on skype, gained their trust throughout a couple of days, to the point they felt comfortable to show off each others inventory, then blitz raid all their items and block them. He repeated this scam so often, that he got banned by the game developers, because they thought he was hacking duplicates with the gaining rate of his items. In the same stream Dream talked about how he systematically mass scammed roblox players by getting their passwords and handles via an organized scam, cheating minors out of thousands of items, birthday gifts and robux, an ingame currency directly exchanged for real money. People were infuriated with the segment showing Karl with zero integrity as he laughed hysterically about how „awesome“ fraud was and how „those kids deserved it tho“, praising Dream „for ruining their lifes“ - while Karl's audience mainly consists of kids listening. He tried to manipulate mods not to ban him, pretending it was „a mistype“ in chat, while it was apparent to everyone he intended to say exactly that. - Shows a pattern of weaseling his way under false pretenses into privileged spaces he's not entitled to/qualified for and then boasts about being part of that elite group. Examples: showing up for closed invite-only parties just to check if clout could get him in, several stalking/stream snipings, swapping wristbands at conferences to get in, fabricating a newsarticle to gain journalist access to a convention (all via VODs) pretending to word „exclusive invitations“ to game studios, tv offices, pop culture companies and celebrity meetups etc for himself although they were originally issued to Mr.B (Screenshots (O)) taking credit for staff for his editing team (hiring is a complex longwided process, Karl claimed „he build“ the team, but ommitts they're all Mr.B employees, who did the actual process), rented office spaces from Mr.B and took over multiple established, high followcount Mr.B social pages (f.e his official facebook page) to claim as his own, but forgot to take the old Mr.B6000 links out. - Lies and inconsistencies in Karl's stories and statements: In his initial upcomer story, he says he visited a friend, who then mentioned they had an editor opening, suggested Karl to interview for Mr.Bro „not really knowing what it was gonna be“ with Karl later being invited by Mr.B personally, because „Kris loved him so much“. This lead to Karl temporarily being most viewed streamer for a month, same with Banter Podcast beating Joe Rogan for a week, with Karl contemplating to plaster the headline on billboads in Rogans hometown, to stick it to his fans. Upon multiple interviewers pointing out how Karl always seemed „extremely tactile“ with whom he'd work, he starts stonewalling and changing the topic (Vidsummit 2021 panel). 11. Addition: Setting the record straight about stan projections


- Fanbase inserting „sob story“ and „idolization“ narratives in order to absolve Karl from accountability, inject empathy into otherwise sociopathic behavior or parasocially „feeling and thinking“ on behalf of him ((Screenshots (T) Examples: Claiming for months Karl has an „eating disorder“, because „he gets bullied by haters“ =/= him clarifying multiple times he occasionally forgets/delays a meal due to ADHD completely unrelated. In the Padilla Interview he is not surprised that people regularly publish heinous things he's said and done - not fearing what they might be, but wondering how upset people might be this time. - Despite stans insisting of him acting as a role model, Karl generally dodges any questions regarding personal goals or purpose. The answers are empty or business related, solidifying the impression he either doesn't actually know his deeper motivations himself or doesn't want them public. A good example is the „Drunk Q&A VOD“, with Quackity asking him What his work means to him, Why he does content, Why he keeps going and what his end goal is, How deeply rooted his „passion projects“ are to him etc and Karl's answers remaining completely evasive and shallow.
