Misty Chronexia topic, anyone?
What has he done:
>Youtuber known to create top 10 anime lists on Youtube.>Wrote light novel called "Chronexia et les huit sceaux" (also as known as "Chronexia and the 7 seals") which was actually published and poorly recieved.>Teamed up with Studio Izune (some amateur "animation studio") to turn his book into an anime. In about 11 months, raised 40K on patron to fund it.>Said product came out months later and had QUALITY animation, bad voice acting, storytelling and pacing. Cue shitstorm and tons of Misty White knights defending it. People were rightfully concerned where the 40k went into producing a poor end product that end up only being 10 minutes long. >Someone interviewed an animator of Studio Izune, he said Misty's direction and leadership was terrible, leading to some animators to leave the project (some not even caring about being paid, that's how bad it was) and he paid them directly, no contract. >Misty has gone on the state that people are being hypercritical of the first episode, that it was meant to be "vague" and people "don't get it". Now he's trying to raise $7500 for episode 2>ironically he criticised other anime for bad animation and other mistakes, and is now repeating them in his own series.>He's also friends with Akidearest and the Anime Man. His QUALITY anime"

This is a beautiful train wreck of an "anime". The real challenge is finding something good in it.

This is wonderful. It's like hard drugs met David Icke and they had an extremely autistic baby.

>>230316IIRC the studio approached Misty and they agreed to do it if he could get the funding for it. If you look on the studio izune's website, before making chronexia, they had a kickstarter for a series called "tree of life" which they canceled early possibly due to a lack of funding or some shit (plus it had the similar QUALITY issues as chronexia + 8 seals). They also mention that they are friends who all live in like 7 different countries who decided to form an animation studio.
I won't say that they are talentless, but they don't seem professional to me and I'm surprised misty even agreed to work with them seeing how unreliable they seem. but like I kinda feel a little sorry for them? the guy who got interviewed (he was also one of the people who noped out) said he got paid like $150 for like 5 months of work and that they constantly pressured by misty to make it exactly like his book (they had no flexibility or say in the shitty script) and kept pushing impossible deadlines.
Also pic related, this was on their actual website LOL

Thank you for looking more into it, this is just bad all around.
But more importantly if he paid them each 150 or so each with no contract (conveniently)
What happened to the rest of the 39k?
And why isn't his fans questioning why making the 2nd episode is significantly cheaper. Even if his typical fans no nothing about studio productions things don't add up. It took 40k to make the intro but only 7.5k to make episode 2???

>>230129>>"Chronexia et les huit sceaux" also as known as "Chronexia and the 7 seals"Hmm, but huit means eight.
Totally irrelevant, i know, but I had to fix that.

>>230433no problem. that guy specifically said he got $150, we don't know how much the rest of the team got paid. That's still a shitty way to do business without a contract though.
Also I feel like I should have wrote that out better but just to clarify on the $7500: he wanted £7500 minimum per month to continue producing the series. Since he wanted to finished episode 2 by this march (that's when his wife's baby is due), so that's about 30k for 4 months. That's still a good 10k cheaper than episode 1 and much shorter of a deadline than he gave them before. He's also still short of making that goal. so if it never gets made, is he pocketing that money?

>>230129That narration was lazy and excessive
You don't introduce that many characters in an opening narration.
Show don't tell for fucks sake.
There's a lot to rip on that doesn't have to do with the badly animated characters. Like stiff backgrounds, characters looking like they aren't a part of the environment/bg, the still frame ZOOMING, boring camera work etc etc
