I have really Caucasian features, dirty blonde hair, freckles, and thinner skin. It’s really hard for me to find inspiration in terms of aging, it seems the women who age best have darker hair and features, thicker skin, are more exotic etc. But Sheri Moon is my girl. 49 years old and still oozing sex appeal, plus she didn’t even get big until she was about 30

I know that sadly she passed away back in 1993. This was Audrey Hepburn in 1989, she was 60 years old. There will never be another like Audrey. Her elegance and class is unmatched. IMO.

She went after Mel Ferrer when he was married, and yes she was the one who pursued him, and basically caused his fallout with Frances Gunby, people close to her when she didn't have her kids yet also said she drank alot and smoked like a chimney, she also cheated on her second husband with Ben Gazzara, and then with Andrea Dotti who she left her husband for.

This is Unica Zurn, I'm not sure how old she was in this pic but she was the wife of surrealism artist Hans Bellmer in 1940s-60s in Paris, she also wrote books and did her own art. The craziest thing about her to me was that she never tried to make her own art and only did commercial writing until she met Hans Bellmer when she was already in her late 30s, previously married with two kids, and a divorcee. To be honest, I think that has more to do with drinking, smoking, tanning, and less healthy lifestyles than their race. Although I do know race is a contributing factor.

My mom is white and her skin didn't age badly at all. She's almost 60, and she could pass for 40's. She always wore sunscreen + hats. Drank plenty of water. Exercised. Ate well.

Her mother is in the same generation as Audrey Hepburn, and she didn't age nearly as well. But she had a differently lifestyle.

I admire the hell out of Heidi. She made herself a household name, avoided the typical model age-out even after having four children, she was the breadwinner in her marriage to Seal (unless he was making ridiculous royalties from Kiss from a Rose, hahaahahah no, we all know he wasn't), and she is more intelligent and funny than she ever gets credit for. In a non-native language no less!

I was a huge fan of Project Runway before it left Bravo and her contributions made it clear she understood the industry/business, respected the work that goes into garment construction, and revered artistic innovation. I found myself agreeing with her more often than Tim Gunn. I didn't intend for this to turn into a love letter to her, but as someone who has considered a career in fashion design, she is a breath of fresh air.

I have a feeling young women (of any race) are going to start aging better and better, and those stereotypes will become outdated within the next few generations. People think white women age badly and women in general expire at 30, but those beliefs are based on generations of women who probably used tanning oil instead of sunscreen and had no idea what retinol is. Even in just the past few years, I feel that skincare has levelled up like crazy thanks to beauty gurus, /r/sca, etc improving our understanding. Regardless of ethnicity people need to realize a lot of aging is determined by lifestyle and genetics, but also really take into consideration the genetics part. Genetics play a huge huge role in how you age and some people are born with certain features and wrinkles or develop them early on. Not 30+ but whatever, I wanted to post this woman somewhere and this thread is dead anyway.

This is 27 year old Gulali Mohammadi from Afghanistan. She's the youngest member of parliament of the Afghan parliament and the only women. As a child she was supposed to marry at 12 years old, as is custom for girls in Afghanistan. Instead she pushed for her parents to let het go to school, even though her male family members threatened to kill her. She started her own school at home, teaching illiterate women and poor children, proving she could earn money as a woman. After that she followed secundary school and became a midwife and later worked a manager on an airport. Two years ago she ran for parliamentary elections and won the only spot for a woman. Now she's the only woman on the parliament and uses her function to empower women. She tries to convince men to allow their daughters to follow education and tries to inform women about their rights for education, work and healthcare. Earlier this year the Taliban killed her brother and they've been threatening to kill her too, yet she refuses to give up.

She wanted to be a writer when she was young and was not that good at math, but she joined Iran's International Mathematics Olympiad to win gold and silver. Björk's music doesnt really do that. I get the feeling she treats music like an art form, rather than focusing on making the most catchy summerhit. I know saying something has soul is a meme but genuinely there is so much soul in her music.

Kek yeah. Björk is a creative person. Thinking outside the box comes naturally to her. I doubt she thinks herself as weird or is purposely putting on a weird image. She just does what she genuinely thinks looks/sounds good. Many other "weird" celebs are too try-hard. You can tell they only dress that way to get attention, instead of genuinely enjoying it
off topic rant, but people like sam smith and harry styles clearly put these sort of images on to LARP as being oppressed. When Smith started dressing like that he became very vocal about being non-binary. Styles had the whole "people like me dont win Grammys" speech, which is fucking bullshit since he is a white man whose career was created by Simon Cowell who is an extremely influential music producers.While Björk is still mocked for the dress and for being "weird" even amongst people who like her music. I bet the backlash against her style and personality wouldnt had been so big if she was a man so it annoys me to no end that Smith thinks he no longer benefits from male privilege and Styles thinks he is oppressed for having an ugly fashion sense
Also Harry Styles is such an untalented hack. One of my friends told me he has a song that is sooooo weird and i had to hear how weeeeird it is and then she proceed to play the most radio-safe top 40 sounding song ever. Its genuinely sad that Harry Styles music is considered experimental nowadays.

She died a few days ago, but, I'm posting Peggy Moffitt. I'd seen her in a film from the early 60's and was shocked to learn she later became a huge fashion icon. It's inspiring as hell because she had a weird face, was very tall and gangly, but was embraced by the fashion of the 60's and turned into a swan.

Just the fact that a poor girl during the 19th century managed to stay unmarried and went to work in a huge city at the age of 30 instead is honestly amazing.
