My favorites include William and Michael. William because none of this would be happening if it weren't for him, and Michael because protagonist-wise, he carries like 60% of the story. My least favorite characters would be the Emily family because of how fucking random they are to the games. Back in the 3rd game, you can see that the child locked outside of the diner is clearly a little boy. Come sixth game, "oh look, it was actually a little girl named Charlie all along!"

My least favorite is the fourth because of how little it added to the lore in the grand scheme. Seriously, Fnaf 4 could be erased from existence and nothing would change.

Sorry for the Sperg but I want to know what your headcanon for William is?
In my headcanon, I think William should have been depicted as a father who spiraled into madness following the tragic loss of his son. William being a character consumed by a mix of jealousy and grief would've made him seem more 'real' and sympathetic instead of just the mad scientist the games portray him as now. Imagine his character being driven by intense rage and grief to the point where it drives him to seek revenge by targeting his son's bullies, using the mascot suit to lore, and then murdering them.
It wouldn't have made sense for him to just go forward with rebranding after what happened to his child, so I'd like to imagine his business partner taking it into his own hands and not wanting the restaurant to be a lost. Then, I can see William later rejoining him as he tries to rebuild who he once was and get his life back together, only to find himself being envious of Henry's family life while his own family life was deteriorating; all the while convincing himself that Henry's creations played a role in killing his son. This could have been the reason why he killed Henry's daughter and the start of him getting his revenge and hiding the bodies.I feel like if he were portrayed as just a dad who spiraled into madness, it would have provided a motive for Williams' actions instead of him just being a random child murderer. Then, leading up to his death as spring trap and going 'missing' it would have given Michael a purpose as an adult, as he would have felt compelled to uncover clues on where his father went and make amends for his father's descent into madness. I'm sorry for the long essay, kek. I'm embarrassed but it's a headcanon I've been holding to myself and I'm trying hard not to write fanfiction and stories about.

And if Mrs afton was still in the picture before the bite then I can see their relationship breaking apart because of the stress of losing their child and the way tragedies can drive families apart.
I also hate how he is often portrayed as a repulsive, overweight slob (their old offical artists work) or an unappealing balding old man too, kek. It doesn't help his image when he's just known as the "scary child murderer with no motives" Just like you I imagine him as an attractive tall man who is overly confident, charismatic, charming, and manipulative. I can picture him interacting with customers in his stylish suits as he lavishes money on himself all while grappling with financial challenges for the restaurant.
I also like the idea that Henry is the complete opposite of William, being a total pushover and more reserved and introverted, quietly managing the animatronics while William basks in the limelight and handles the business which is why his name is mostly well known rather than Henry's.

I think security breach shouldn't be apart of the canon but I'd like to imagine Vanessa as a sort of scream-ish character where she's obsessive over William and his crimes and becomes a copycat.

I have a theory regarding the movie. It didn't make sense how the lore changed in the movie, and the one part that bugged me the most was how Mike wasn't William's son and instead had some other random family. So I have a theory that Mike from the movie is actually William's son and so is Abby and they just didn't know this yet. The reason I think that is because when William, who was pretending to be a job counselor or maybe that was his actual job I didnt understand well, read Mike's first name on the paper and then paused before saying his last name. He changed his mind very quickly and suggested the security guard job out of the blue. Why would he refrain from saying his last name? Why did he change his mind? What did he know? Also the fact that Abby was able to influence the animatronics from one simple drawing may be symbolic, but I don't think she would be able to do that as an average kid. I also don't think that her connection with the animatronics would be so special, unless she was William's daughter. There is a hint there might be a second movie coming soon, because William didn't actually die, and they're huge cash grabs so making another will benefit them. And, this last speculation is kinda unusual, but I genuinely think that if Mike wasn't William's son, there would be a romance scene with Vanessa. I'm certain of it, that's how many movie plots go when there's a male and a female lead, even if it didn't fit the tone of the movie, if they weren't related surely they'd slip something more intimate in. Especially in that scene where Vanessa goes to visit Mike with the pill bottle in hand after Max (the babysitter) and her brother got killed by the animatronics. Maybe Abby would say something like "Is that your girlfriend?" Ignore my last point, the previous ones I'm more certain of. What do you think?

I have no reason to believe crying child/bite victim/Evan Afton possesses Golden Freddy or ANY animatronic.
First of all, Evan died in a hospital, and you have audial evidence of this when you play and finish the 4th game. The rule of the FNaF universe and animatronic possession is that a person has to have died in very close proximity to an anthropomorphically shaped inanimate object (the animatronics). The puppet cradling Charlie when she was freshly dead and before her spirit moved on is exactly how the puppet got possessed by her, and the same thing happened with the rest of the animatronics because of that same rule (their bodies making contact with the suits to
give life). With that being said, how can Evan possess Golden Freddy or any animatronic if he died in a hospital with no contact with any robot?
Secondly, Golden Freddy is a different animatronic from Fredbear (the one who bit Evan in '83). Fredbear has a purple hat, and a purple tie. Golden Freddy's hat and tie are
black. They are designed differently, which supports them being different animatronics. Fredbear is at Fredbear's Family Diner, which is a different building from Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. The
Pizzeria is where the Missing Children's Incident takes place, and we know that Cassidy was the one who got stuffed into Golden Freddy, but why is this important? Because in FNaF4, the pigtailed girl gives us a hint that the animatronics "come to life at night" and even mentions the puppet (IIRC). But hold on, Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, and Foxy along with Golden Freddy are in the Pizzeria, and NOT at the Family Diner. So this means the Pizzeria and the Diner are two separate buildings that were both up and active at the same time for a while. So if we were to believe that Fredbear and Golden Freddy are the SAME animatronic, and we know the Pizzeria and the Diner were two buildings and active at the same time, how could Fredbear be in two different restaurants at once? IIRC, the phoneguy mentions "extra suits", and if we take into account that William used a Spring Bonnie suit at the Pizzeria to lure in the original five missing kids, the answer becomes clear: Golden Freddy is simply one of the extra animatronics that were created during the process of making the Pizzeria
instead of being Fredbear himself. So even if Evan DID somehow possess Fredbear, he
wouldn't be possessing Golden Freddy and the Pizzeria isn't even where he got bit.
Thirdly, the head count doesn't match up in the Happiest Day minigame of FNaF3. The Happiest Day birthday party table part of FNaF3 is to address the spirits of Charlie and the original missing five kids. But that's it, Charlie and the original missing five kids, which totals up to only SIX child spirits attempting to recollect their happiness and move on from animatronic possession. If we're going off of GoldenDuo being plausible, there should be SEVEN kids to include
Evan's spirit, but there's only six which means that Evan
can't be possessing Golden Freddy with Cassidy too, or even any.
GoldenDuo has got to be one of the most shilled theories in this fandom, but it just doesn't click for me because there are so many holes in its logic.

Okay, since you're asking me, I'll do my best with piecing together who I think is the middle and youngest child of William's kiddos. Scott likes to hide details like what Mrs. Afton's first name even was, what exactly happened to her, and what was even supposed to be meant by "put you back together" for Crying Child's final coma moments…so this is gonna be a bunch of best guesses.
This is somewhat important for my explanation so let’s just get this out of the way. First of all, what even is remnant? Based on the best information we have, remnant is basically a soul or a piece of a soul. Let’s use Charlie as an example. Charlie dies, but just before her soul can pass on, the Puppet gets close to her body and the soul of Charlie gets binded to the Puppet’s animatronic form. It’s how possession is able to happen in the FNaF world and based on Michael’s fate, it can also grant immortality. So the metal bodies of the animatronics contain remnant (aka the souls). Alright that possessed, remnant-having metal can be converted into a molten-liquid form, which is ANOTHER form of remnant. Now that we got that out of the way, we can take the first step into cracking this case.
Elizabeth’s death is connected to the opening of Circus Baby's Pizza World because IIRC, she dies there and on the first day it opens to the public. But let’s look at details regarding Circus Baby’s Pizza World. It should be noted that Elizabeth only seems to be around five years old at the time of her death. The Funtime animatronics are designed to kidnap and/or kill, coupled with a giant mechanical scooping device that’s explicitly explained to store and inject remnant. So Circus Baby’s Pizza World must take place specifically during the point in time where William had discovered and decided to experiment further with remnant, otherwise why would he manufacture the animatronics and the scooper be so advanced with features for such a specific purpose? So with my best bet, William must have established Circus Baby’s Pizza World AFTER he has already “experimented” with death. Plus, we have to acknowledge that the technological advancement these animatronics have over any of the animatronics we’ve seen with Fredbear’s Family Diner, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, and even when the Pizzeria opened with the Toy animatronics. The Funtime animatronics seem a lot stronger, and much more pristine even with Funtime Freddy’s glitching problem. One can speculate that William was able to build the Funtime animatronics with a lot more impressive technological skill due to the better materials he would have most likely obtained after receiving necessary funds. Which would make sense, if Circus Baby’s Pizza World were to take place AFTER William already opened Fazbear’s Family Diner, the Original Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, and the opening with the Toy Animatronics. HandUnit in Circus Baby’s Pizza World gives us a clue on when the establishment opened up. In HandUnit’s very words: “Due to the massive success and even more-so the unfortunate closing of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, it was clear that the stage was set – no pun intended – for another contender in children’s entertainment”. So my speculation was right, Circus Baby’s Pizza World opens AFTER the first few establishments. But let’s talk about those establishments for the big picture.
The very first establishment that William opened up was FredBear’s Family Diner, featuring only two animatronic characters: Fredbear and Springbonnie. But after that establishment, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria gets introduced to the public, which features the characters: Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and the Puppet. We know that the puppet is here, because Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria is specifically where Charlie died. In the ‘Take Cake to Children’ minigame in FNaF 3, we see a child get murked right outside the restaurant that features the Freddy Fazbear animatronic serving cake to the children inside the building. The car is purple, the man is purple, and we eventually come to learn that the child-murderer is William Afton. But in Pizzeria Simulator, we learn that the child trapped outside the building was actually Charlie. As we learn that it was the Puppet who tried to help Charlie after her death, it was the Puppet that ended up being possessed by her. But why am I talking about this? Because if we look at the ‘Give Life’ minigame, the game is basically telling you that it was the PUPPET/CHARLIE who was stuffing the animatronics with the bodies of other children to give them and the animatronics themselves a new “life”. This is how the other animatronics got possessed across the restaurants, which must mean that the first and second round of missing kids happened AFTER Charlie got killed/starting possessing the Puppet FIRST…otherwise the souls wouldn’t have been possessing the other animatronics in the first place. So Charlie was the first to get killed, then the original missing children died like right after. So with six kids being dead at this point, it’s clear that William keeps coming back to kill more kids but based on the fact that he owns these companies and understood remnant and possession enough to make advanced devices about remnant, we can assume that William has been watching Puppet/Charlie from a distance and taking notes from her, which goes back to my point that he must have opened Circus Baby’s Pizza World after the first several restaurants. But speaking of the first several restaurants, we have to tackle a specific diner that’s the setting of FNaF 4: Fredbear’s.

Okay, we all know that CC was in and out of Fredbear’s Family Diner, that Michael threw his brother at the bear, CC got bit and that was the Bite of ‘83. But that’s it right there. The Bite of ‘83, implying that the string of CC’s events took place in 1983. On the TV, we get an easter egg, showing Foxy, Freddy, and basically the animatronics that were present over at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria and NOT at Fredbear’s Family Diner specifically. It also flashes the date “1983”. To me, this implies that during some of 1983 (especially where CC has his story), Fredbear’s Family Diner and Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria are two separate buildings and running at the same time. Then we get to the part where we talk to that NPC, pig-tailed girl. She tells CC to “be careful” as “they come to life at night”. It’s extremely clear that this is the game heavily implying that animatronic possession has already begun by the time 1983 became the year. The girl continues to say “and if you die, they hide your body and never tell anyone”. This also heavily implies (again) that children have gone missing at Freddy’s before, which is such a glaring implication that the Missing Children’s Incident and even rumors about it have already occurred at this point (at least to me), but not that long ago. But the details about how Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria plays into the timeline doesn’t end there. Remember what HandUnit said about Freddy Fazbear’s closing down? Again, in HandUnit’s very words: “Due to the massive success and even more-so the unfortunate closing of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, it was clear that the stage was set – no pun intended – for another contender in children’s entertainment”. Again, Circus Baby’s Pizza World opened AFTER Freddy’s closed down. Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria is supposed to be the improved and more attracting successor to Fredbear’s Family Diner, and yet Freddy’s still closed down during this point of Circus Baby’s creation. It’s very likely at this point that Fredbear’s Family Diner is also closed down by this point in the timeline, and we do know that CC got bit and died at the point when Fredbear’s Family Diner WAS open to the public. However, we also know that Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria reopened with the Toy animatronics at around 1987 (due to the Bite of ‘87 heavily implied to take place there). HandUnit wouldn’t mention that Freddy’s is closed if it was already reopened with new, shiny animatronics based on the company’s toyline, so Circus Baby’s Pizza World MUST take place sometime AFTER 1983 (the year CC died), but BEFORE 1987. Perhaps right smack in 1985. So there, I’m at the point where I believe CC died BEFORE Elizabeth did. But I ain’t done. Let’s take a look at Elizabeth and CC.
Elizabeth and CC look roughly the same age in their own appearances in their respective games. They each look to be around 5 years old. Maybe six or even seven. Either way, both look pretty young and roughly the same age. But if we know that CC at, say five years old in 1983…and Elizabeth died at five years old sometime AFTER 1983…this means that Elizabeth would’ve been something like a TODDLER during the events of 1983. Look at the Toy Foxy (Mangle) toy in the sister’s room of FNaF 4. It doesn’t seem like an interesting detail, but the PhoneGuy in FNaF 2 gives us an implication about which type of children Toy Foxy (Mangle) was meant for: “They tried to remake Foxy, ya know? Uh, they thought the first one was too scary, so they redesigned him to be more kid-friendly and put him in Kid's Cove. To keep the toddlers entertained, you know… But kids these days just can't keep their hands to themselves”. TODDLERS. He mentioned Toy Foxy (Mangle) being designed and meant for TODDLERS. The Toy Foxy (Mangle) doll being in the sister’s room is there because the sister was a toddler, and Toy Foxy (Mangle) was designed for children her age (which makes sense, because toddlers are known for destroying their own toys. What’s a better toy for a toddler than something meant to be taken apart?). Some would say that the bed in the sister’s room would be too big for Elizabeth if she was just three, but that’s wrong. It’s normal for toddlers to sleep in beds for themselves, because age 3 is normally when parents transition their kids from sleeping in a crib, to sleeping in an actual bed…
