Thread to discuss all things Disney!

>Are you a so called "disney adult"? What do you think of them?

>Who is your favorite character?
>What movie had the biggest impact on you as a child or adult?
>Do you enjoy going to the theme parks?
>Is Disney only making shit movies these days, or are they better than the old classics?
>Cartoon VS 3D animation

No. 445705

Op here, I didn't see a thread for it already which I found surprising given how massive disney is all around the world!

To answer some of my own questions, Mulan had a big impact on me and is probably the reason why I accepted being a tomboy and never trooned out like my peers. I generally enjoy both old and new movies, though Wish was painfully mediocre and I've only heard bad things about Moana 2.
I love both 2D and 3D, I just wish they didn't stick to just one medium. I'd love a new modern disney 2D movie done with modern technology.

Kayla is the best Disney princess.

i'm not a disney adult at all but there are some disney films i hold really close to my heart, like the hunchback of notre dame, 101 dalmatians and sleeping beauty.
aurora is my favorite disney princess. i know there's an argument that she's too passive and a damsel but i don't care. i think she's cool and i always love hearing her singing.

Fantasia was one of my favorites as a kid (I guess my mom wasn't aware of the frontal nudity at the end) and it still is today. It's such an oddity, despite doing poorly at the box office when it came out, it ended up being really influential. I kind of wish this sort of thing took off, and that big concept albums would be accompanied by weird, artsy, gull-length movies that are basically revues of music videos. I guess you could argue that Tommy and The Wall are reminiscent of that idea, but not entirely. I was less thrilled with Fantasia 2000, which lacks the je ne sais quois of the original imo.

I never cared about Disney movies as a kid, but I really liked Lilo & Stitch, Mulan, and Disney animated shows. W.I.T.C.H. being one of them. Currently watching Kim Possible and enjoyed it.

Ohh good taste nona! I loved Fantasia as a kid. My favorite part was the centaur bit, and sometimes I'd feel lazy and let the dvd run on to its following dancing-alligators-and-hippos part, but right after that was the really scary demons thing that I'd always cover my eyes at and yell for my mom to turn the TV off kekkkk

Mulan, who is straight, when seeing a bunch of naked men literally says she never wants to see a naked man again in horror. I never realized how important that was to see as a little girl, to know that 99% of men still look repulsive to a normal straight woman. With troonism trying to tell me about "genital fetish" for being straight and that finding troons sexually repulsive must mean I'm asexual and so on it really helped knowing I'm not supposed to find EVERY man attractive and that I'm allowed to be grossed out by most of them. Idk just the retarded thought of the day lmao

Mulan was my comfort movie as a kid. Rather than pushing troonism disney should go back to sending the message that girls can do anything - as girls. At the start Mulan messed up being a woman, singing about how she'll never be good enough just being herself. AND then she also fails at "being a man" because she's weaker and doesn't fit in. Then she finally redeems herself by being the clever one and it turns out she was good enough all along.
It's such a wonderful message for the weirdo kids who feel like they don't belong anywhere, the movie points out that the rigid gender roles don't fit everyone and it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them for it. And at the end she gets her happy romance ending too so it's not the typical "i need no man" girlboss power. In the end she's just a normal woman, she was fine as herself the whole time.

Fuck that troon-supporting company of career groomers and crypto-pedos. Never going to see a Disney film or buy anything Disney-related ever again after the shit they have pulled - promoting child mutilation and the stripping of women's rights. They are no different from cancer-sellers like cigarette companies.

>to know that 99% of men still look repulsive to a normal straight woman
back when i used to use reddit more, particularly askreddit which is a fucking cesspit, i lost track of how many times i saw moids asking if it was normal to think vaginas were ugly/unappealing.

No. 448318

>>448307
tbh I think that's way less normal since men are sex crazed lunatics almost by default, but male autists tend to be sex and body repulsed and it's reddit so we know they're all socially retarded there

i guess that makes sense. it kind of gave me an identity crisis for awhile when i was younger, thinking about how many men are pretending to be attracted to the female form but only actually care about tits.

I think if fantasia 2 came out in the mid 90s instead of early 2000s we could have gotten more and the final result might have been better. Fantasia 2000 sucked shit though. The first one is just amazing and feels like what Disney should have been with the bold and diverse styles of animation. I loved the dinosaur one as a kid.

Imagine if in 2025 disney made a movie in which the main character "disguises her gender to sneak in with the other sex", and it's a POC character training for war. There would be so many woke uproars!

I hate this mindset that fictional non-white media must now be historically and culturally accurate. Having magical worlds just based on other cultures is fine! But if they wanna argue that it's disrespectful to "portray a culture inaccurately" then they should have kept that energy for Frozen instead of fucking up Norwegian and sami culture, but they don't even pretend to care when it's white people culture
