Is there any hope in a woman-led startup that doesn't get branded as terf-y for the lack of TIMs onboard? I ask because it seems like the West is hostile towards anything pandering to women unless it shoves wokeslop in order to stop the mob from sending death threats. Meanwhile, despite the east being as ass backwards with gender roles, there seems to be viable market for this sort of thing. Why is that?

no video game should depict a woman having anything happen to her, gotta keep the kids safe

Call me paranoid but with how men will stop at nothing to infiltrate women's spaces any woman-fronted project is difficult to make a reality. Look at how far they'll go to invade groups that clearly don't even have anything to offer them just for the sake of "pwning" us- lesbian subreddits, Ovarit, even lolcow. They make bad faith arguments for the sake of bringing us down, it doesn't even have to get branded as "the TERF startup" for them to start a mass harassment campaign against a female-led project.
Japan is better for it because their TIMs are too mentally ill to complain about women's spaces and trans shit is still not as socially acceptable as in the west but that's a unique cultural gap. And culture does make a difference in branding. Probably introducing yourself as a group of women from some small innocuous country like Slovakia or whatever would be more likely to keep you off the radar because you could fight fire with fire and claim ignorance. Or just pretend to be Japanese I guess, kek.
In my opinion the only way a real female team can succeed is if it's a tight-knit group of women who know each other IRL and have good online opsec to keep TIMs (and potential rats) out, also not engaging with criticism from trannies. Engagement means acknowledgement.

TL;DR there is hope but not much. Unfortunate how in this day and age it would be safer to call yourself a genderqeer nonbinary startup.

Does anyone else remember how many moids got upset because Abby didn't have big enough tits and because Neil Druckmann said that he took Anita Sarkeesian's suggestions while making The Last Of Us Part II

Moids really let Anita Sarkeesian live in their heads rent free, even after all this time…

TLOU2 was in 2020 but that was still years after the Tropes Vs Women kickstarter and it was a dead horse at the time too

NTA, I don't dismiss powerful private companies to be abusive lol. I still think deplatforming rape games is a net positive and helps women, sorry if your hentai games got false(?) flagged. And haven't they tried to take down lc a few times too?

No. 529934

im sorry if this is kind of a stupid question but if collective shout actually got some kind of filter or fully reviewed the games they decide to ban do you guys think it would help? like if they only did in fact get violent fetishistic games would it mitigate the hate or would trannies and porn addicts keep seething and try to keep the whole "censorship" thing going?

Imo it's not Collective Shout's job to review every single hentai game and decide if it's too explicit, that is Steam's job. The truth is these gross games shouldn't have ever made it onto the platform in the first place, but Steam doesn't want to put money and staff towards actively curating their library. And now we're in a boiled frog situation where men got too comfortable with their on-demand sloptech coomerware and are aghast at it being made harder to access. I think there would be backlash even if delisting these games was Steam's idea, and TBH I think that's why Steam has been skirting around the issue, to avoid gamergate 2. So it's very convenient for Steam, Mastercard, and male gamers that there's a group of nasty harpies to blame this all on kek.

No, because people disagree with them going through payment processors to strongarm Steam/other platforms to ban stuff.

Also the general sentiment of "gamers" is that no games should be banned period, regardless of content. I watched an Asmongold video on the subject (yeah) and he mentioned explicitly that he has no problem defending anime incest porn games (he avoided saying the word "rape") because "nobody's getting hurt because it's not real." He'd never say that if the majority of his audience didn't think the same thing.

Collective Shout have never actually in charge of what payment processors will do, they're an Australian nonprofit charity. In reality they just made the payment processors aware of what was being hosted on Steam and Itch.io, content that Steam and Itch.io already knew they were not allowed to have. They were playing with fire to begin with, essentially.

>The payment processing platforms always had it on their terms of use that they can't provide service to businesses that host illegal content such as incest and child abuse material. Collective Shout wrote an open letter to Mastercard, Visa, and PayPal bringing such games hosted on Steam and itch to their attention so they can remove their service from them. Of course the gaming companies caved and removed those games. It's the same thing that happened with Pornhub now needing verification from content creators when it was found out that a lot of content there were child abuse materials. And of course the leftist soyboys and troons reacted the same way, crying genocide that their precious porn is taken away from them

Nta but the rules of the site state 3 times that doxxing is a bannable action, LC only allows information to be posted that can be publicly acquired, so it's not illegal. Afaia LC has been DDOS'd but not targeted for takedown. Even multimillion dollar MMOs like FFXIV will be targeted for DDOS attacks so it's not like it's exclusive to imageboards.
