Found out recently that Haley Williams from Paramore is now dating her long time band mate Taylor York.
I love Paramore and Haley in particular but don’t understand this relationship at all. I get that she’s known this guy since before she got famous and that can be a huge draw for someone in her position, but I just don’t see their chemistry. They just look sterile together, he looks so awkward when he touches her it’s almost like he’s uncomfortable. He’s not even in her league looks-wise. I just don’t get it.
What really bugs me is that I know so many awkward music dudes like Taylor who will see this relationship as evidence that playing the nice-guy friend role long enough will eventually win you the girl. gonna chime in since i actually knew tate mcrae since 2014, i met her several times and kept in touch through instagram with her etc, we were in group chats togeher mainly though. she started out a genuinely incredibly talented kid/teen dancer up until 2018, she was known for being a borderline prodigy and didn't even dance as much as the other popular kids at her start. really nice, not a brat. but as soon as her music took off she ditched the hard work and now, well, she doesn't talk to any humble canadian dancers anymore lol. but yeah, like it says in this thread her dad was always a rich lawyer. but her family was pretty down to earth from what i saw, normal upper class canadian family. her brother is just a hockey guy. in summer 2020 she had a "scandal" on tiktok and ig regarding her laughing at some retarded down syndrome joke, she messaged our group chats saying how sick she felt over it and asking everyone to not post or talk about it which was kind of sad as she just laughed at a joke. she's really blown up like crazy in late 2021/2022, i think they are really pushing for her to be the canadian olivia. i miss her dancing, she had such rare talent and threw it away to be rich(er) and lazy. i feel bad saying it as she isn't a spoiled person but it's true
