Does anyone get tired of this place? Or is getting tired of this place?
After 2 years of lurking, lolcow is kinda losing it's charm and I'm starting to get tired of the same old shit

Do you guys think it's possible to improve lolcow? I've been hearing people talk about all the nitpicking going on, and I can honestly agree its getting pretty annnoying

No. 217734

>Do you guys think it's possible to improve lolcow?

No, easier to improve yourself and leave happily.

No. 217735

You missed the golden age tbh.

Yeah, I figured. Thanks anon

>>217735
Golden age? You mean back when there was a shitton of petty infighting kek

No. 217739

I don't know. Maybe another hell week would help but I have my doubts.

No. 217742

I've moved almost exclusively to crystal.cafe and only lurk a few threads here now.

we desperately need another hellweek (actually enforced this time) plus some active and competent staff. /dream

No. 217777

>>217774
We had active staff at some point but the new admin decided to fire all the previous mods.

No. 217802

I'm not liking that I got a petty ban for material that doesn't break the rules, but that's the fault of other anons more than the mods. We get the board quality we deserve and want.

No. 217809

Lolcow was pretty entertaining a few years back, and for the nitpicking you can blame the pull anons for that. For me lc is getting boring becuz of the same flake topics, the popular flakes are anachans, delusional weebs, attention whores and random hostess weebs in Japan that only the weebs living in Japan know personally.

No. 217814

I wish we could ban all men from the lolcow. I loved having an imageboard made up of mostly women and I've grown to really love you all. The recent robot raid is getting really old and is shitting up the website.

This so much. I wish we could create a new chan but without linking it here or on cc because then inevitably they will find out.

I thought that kind of thread was put in autosage? Not popular at all, though. The real milk is in /pt/ anyway

Why not make a board with thread IDs and girl topic boards that are agressively enforced? A board about girl's fashion, for example would be mostly girls by default if posting about anything else got a ban you wouldn't have to worry about robots at all.

Boards like this, off topic, make it impossible to moderate the gender of the users here.

It's on auto? I'm talking about the Shiena thread and the one about the white trash hostess with 2 kids

No. 217852

>>217842
Ah yes, those two are the only ones who escaped the autosage strangely. There were the gaijin in Japan thread and the host thread, both autosaged, also the Gaya one. Report them so the remaining two will get autosaged as well

The thing is that I don't like encouraging stereotypes. I want to talk to other women about science and technology (being a woman working in a STEM field myself) just as much as I want to talk to them about periods and gossip lol.

>>217815
That's impossible to enforce and keep a secret forever unless you require the users to prove they're women. But then it's not an anonymous imageboard anymore, unfortunately.

I used to really enjoy 4chan's /x/ board many years ago back when the gender ratio was pretty much 50/50. It was like a completely different culture from the rest of the website, people were even posting pictures of themselves and there was some intelligent discussion. My favourite threads were by people exploring in the woods, updating on weird things they find along the way. Urban exploration is my drug.

Now that men have completely taken over the board, it's full of shit posting by loser virgins trying to summon demons to have sex with. It's pathetic, I don't even know why it still exists. That's the reality of what happens when someone becomes male dominated. If you want to see how nice things are when it's mostly women

Come to terms with the fact that no one cares about your vendetta threads, sperglord.

Sure Jan, this is why you're so mad. Those threads are literally Anisathreads-tier, and other anons have complained about that too… There's no reason for them to be still bumping. I'm sorry. But in autosage you and the other two yellow fevering autists will still be able to post and circlejerk like before, it just won't bump for the other farmers to see

> The thing is that I don't like encouraging stereotypes. I want to talk to other women about science and technology (being a woman working in a STEM field myself) just as much as I want to talk to them about periods and gossip lol.

Same. I once even suggested in the crystal cafe thread that it would be cool to have a technology, art, history and some other serious topics boards in a girls only environment.

Personally, I would love to have female friends to discuss tech, programming and DIY projects but I'm aware that there wouldn't be that many interested in it since there's 4chan but even a small group of online pals would be cool.

No. 217907

>>217904
Same, anon. I haven't met too many women who are interested in programming and engineering and it would be nice.

No. 217911

I know, right? It would be awesome if we could share tips for improvement related to our field of expertise or link to our online repos and receive feedback and see what others are working on without the perennial fights over x is better than y that are present elsewhere.

Most of all I wish I had such girl friends irl. All that I know find it boring and I can't really discuss the latest tech news and gadgets or talk about science and engineering in general.

No. 217917

Fucking same again. Need more female tech friends in real life. It still feels a little lonely only having them online.

Why not create a thread? I'm not in STEM but there are a few ties between programming and my field and tbh my complete lack of knowledge about tech has been keeping me from going in the direction i want to go, but I'm too afraid to ask for pointers anywhere because >muh women can't into tech

No. 217919

As far as we know there is no vendetta in any of the hostess threads. If we autosaged every thread that some people didn't like almost every thread in /snow/ would be saged. I will check it out and see how it is doing though.

For any anons that have bans for no reason make sure to appeal, sometime mix ups happen due to how the banning system works. We won't know unless you tell us.

If you have any suggestions on how we can improve things don't be afraid to post it in /meta/ for us staff to see. Things are a little tough currently with the modding situation, but we would like to see a improvement in quality on the site.

>there is no vendetta
I mean… This is how most of the posts are like there. "My friend said, I've heard" so it's clear that the posters know the snowflake personally or at least have mutual friends. Those hostesses are also nobodies with almost no internet presence at all and accounts with less than 1000 followers. This, along with the obvious samefagging and vitriol, screams "vendetta"

I'd be totally up for this and glad the anons above feel the same as me. I have a friend who once dropped out of a computer programming job because it was all men on her team and she felt lonely. I don't want that to happen to anyone else.

I'm just starting off and I'm struggling a little at the moment. It'd be great to have a space where we can discuss things without fear of judgement.

No. 217928

Im not seeing many repeating IPs or samefagging, reading through some of the threads I'm seeing are just typical /snow/ threads to be honest.
Like I said I'll discuss it with the other staff, but I can't make any promises that it will end in autosaging.

I left after a racist thread concerning people from my country, no offense this place has become 4chan 2.0.

I just use crystal.cafe now, much more chill and less gross overall.

I still use /pt/ for those onion threads

Hopefully this happens, that would be lit! I would love a board about tech/science on crystal.cafe
