Anyone can lose weight, I don't see why people are so mad about someone being skinny? it's not like it's inaccessible to people to be skinny

No. 239287

>>239275
But not everybody wants that; there's a difference between being normally slim (which most people prefer) and being a size 0 with an insane waist to hip ratio plus giant boobs.
Example, this is what an anon posted in the healthy underweight goals thread:
>I used to be a nice, skinny fat underweight. My measurements were 33" bust, 22" waist and 32" hips…
>…In addition, I gained most of the weight in my tits. I had DD's before that were dispropotionately large but now I have disgusting inflationart tits…
Seems a little suspicious.
Even if you really have this body type, you don't have to tell everybody about it. Also, it doesn't give you the right to call anybody who's bigger names.

No. 239288

>>239287
Bigger people call other names as well and they're praised for it because "body positivity!!1!". I'm not even talking about overweight people in general because it's not uncommon and there are multiple reasons anyone could be overweight, I'm talking about morbidly obese people who are that way because of their lifestyle and choices so they can't blame anyone but themselves. If anything they're the hypocrites here. Anyway people in general shouldn't shit on others in the first place but the whole point of this website is to shit on lolcows so there's that.

No. 239290

Obese people getting praised on lolcow…?
"Body positivity" might be a thing on tumblr (and maybe america), but not irl.
Besides, just because fat people can be mean too (again, not on lc), doesn't justify skinny people behaving like that as well. Especially yelling "jealous hamplanet/beast" at everybody who disagrees with them.

No. 239291

>>239288
No one is praising fat people on lolcow, underweight chans just can't handle being treated the same way. You guys need to understand that to a normal person ultra skinniness is just as ugly as being overweight, we've gone past the 2000s skelly fashion. That's why we make fun of anons who cry about being a size zero while making fun of fat girls.

No. 239293

>>239123
>It's scary how people here think: beautiful/young/skinny-> good person.
Nah, if that was the case they would worship and forgive the pretty cows and flakes, instead people tear their looks apart. They will do any necessary mental gymnastics to delude themselves and others that these cute girls are significantly physically flawed.

I get a lot of secondhand embarrassment seeing people grasping at straws to put down girls' looks because it reeks of jealousy and insecurity. And I think it ruins our credibility in other areas. Like for example, if we're calling Kenna ugly and fat when she's clearly not, how can we be taken seriously when we talk about what a painful egotistical trend hopper she is? If we nitpick tiny flaws in someone's appearance, it seems like our issues with their perosonality/behaviour are just nitpicking too.

I didn't mean on lolcow because it's a niche website but on almost any social media and irl. Especially irl actually. If anything anons here are shitting on almost everyone and everything for any physical features, which is why I see a lot of anons complaining about nitpicking.

No. 239303

>>239291
> to a normal person ultra skinniness is just as ugly as being overweight,
This is true, but the criteria for 'ultra skinny' to the point of being considered on par with being fat is a very, very low weight, like legitimate skelly territory rather than just being a size zero. There is a fair bit of room in an underweight BMI for being considered attractive by the majority of people, or at least being considered much more tolerable than a fatty. Comparatively, people start being considered fat and gross towards the mid-high end of a healthy BMI.

However this is just yet another reason skelly chans need to shut up and stop humblebragging so much.

Amen. Sometimes you do get people reaching for the stars about the cow's personality as well (stuff like 'she forgot to say thank you once? She's so selfish and self-absorbed!') but most of the time it's fair criticism.
I don't like nitpicking looks because it's pure shitposting that isn't interesting at all, just people sounding bitter and insecure and inevitably later blogging about how they're so much better and skinnier than that cow in that regard. Like, I don't care about her head size and I don't care about you when there's better stuff to discuss. I hate that I keep having dreams about my old friend I fell out of contact with. I had reasons to stop talking to her (short answer: we lived in different cities, had little in common anymore, and I dropped out of my university whereas she still goes there) and I can't really say I miss her company but at least once a week I dream about running into her (somehow. Again, different cities) and either running away or hiding to avoid her while she tries desperately to reconnect. Earlier today I realized I still talk like her.

I really don't want to be her friend anymore because very self-centered and kind of misogynistic (when we were 17 she literally watched a woman get abused near her house and then blamed the woman for "being with an abuser in the first place", I don't know if she thinks like that anymore but I could never see her the same way again). She's also just high-maintenance in general because she's very anxious and I can barely keep up with my laid-back friends anymore. I still feel guilty though, I guess. She wasn't good at keeping friends and I was probably her longest lasting friendship. She has a boyfriend so she's not entirely without companionship. Her parents liked me and they've probably asked her about me a lot, I know they really wanted our friendship to last. I hate that I'm too disinterested in human interaction to contact her and give her closure. I just hope she doesn't feel like it was her fault, and that she's a better person now.

I had bad acne and now I have bad scarring so I guess my perspective is very different to people who've always had nice skin and use makeup for fun and enhancement, it's not like a personal insult to themselves.

I don't actually feel any external pressure to wear it though, contrary to a lot of people's experience. Little to no makeup is the norm at work and I've had plenty of managers who don't wear it, so it doesn't seem like a professional requirement for my industry. I know it's bad like NO SHIT these are my fucking lungs and I don't smoke in front of non-smokers, what else do you want? constantly shaming me because of my bad habits won't make me quit.

Also obese girls who say how smoking is for you health, yeah sure those 60 pounds of extra fat makes you look like a person who is going to live long healthy life lmao

I hate people who come into threads with a clear OP description and yet do the opposite, like in the loser thread people humble brag and obviously can't read that a loser thread is for losers not non losers. Why are people so fucking stupid?

did it ever occur to you these people aren't humble bragging and are just insecure and want other's opinions? or maybe you're too insecure to understand other's feelings.

As the OP of that thread i absolutely agree, but what would lolcow be without herds of humblebraggers…
I also hate that the go-to insult here is always
>you're just insecure!!!

there's a reason you guys are losers :^)

It's crystally clear that that anon in the loser thread is not insecure or that she doesn't consider herself a loser.

Anyway, I feel like shit for replying to the bait. But with such baits, it's even worse seeing one or two idiots defending the bait. There's already a No Shame Feel Free to Brag thread on /g/ so why not do it there?

Oh I know, a vapid cow needs to humblebrag in a losers thread to make her normal and ordinary life seem better than it is. Considering I'm well off I might as well make a poor thread and then humble brag about all the riches I have because clearly the fact that I'm not a billionaire gives me the right to complain in a thread where people barely make ends meet.

> or maybe you're too insecure

just lel

>>239997
I really feel bad and as stated before I'm sorry for replying to the bait and further derailing the thread. The thread was cozy and it makes a person feel less alone. Maybe one day some farmers here will learn how to read the OP.

And so is your humblebragging about being average.

No it isn't, idiot. It's like thinking someone should get brutally murdered or comparing someone to a psychopath/serial killer if they say something embarassing on the internet. "KYS" is just a stupid joke.

No. 240014

Why? It's a thread there people who are at a genuinely bad point in their lifes post about it.
If then a humblebragging anon posts aout how good her life is, yet still calls herself a loser, this will make the people who really have a shit life feel even worse - and all of that just so that humblebragging anon gets 1 or 2 comments saying, "No, you're alright! You sound so nice/cute, it's not that bad!"…
And making already depressed people feel even worse on purpose is simply not fair.

everything is subjective to a point, but maybe humblebrag anon is lying, or maybe she does feel like she's a loser, despite being fairly normal. in any case if that triggers you why do you think the thread would even be positive in the first place. it sounds to me like the only point of the thread is to make yourself feel better knowing others have it worse than you, rather than not feeling alone, because if it were the latter, you could use it as an opportunity to see that even 'average' people may feel like shitty losers.

Now you're just assuming things and accusing me of having bad motives for making that thread…

Think of it simple; that girl nearly has it all, so why would it make me or anybody else feel better, when even her, a normal person, still sees herself as loser?
If an average person already thinks like that of herself, then what does that make the others in the thread, who really having nobody and nothing?
It just makes you fell even more hopeless… (and annoyed, since i'm fairly sure she did it on purpose and not because she truly feels miserable)

I rolled only in yhe areas with scars. I did it once every other day. Alpha arbutus and niacinamide are also products that help with scarring. You should try those too. The ordinary sells them for a reasonable price.

nta but loving yourself doesn't mean surrounding yourself with people who are going to go off on someone for not being enough of a loser for them, that kind of fragile ego shit is unhealthy. and you also can't be happier hearing how miserable others have it and and hearing them all 'woe is me' but proceed to jump on someone else not as unfortunate.

No. 240045

>blatant humblebragging
but anon, it's totally subjective. for instance, i personally don't find it humblebragging because i'm much more better off than the OP. you and others who are butthurt about them just make it seem like your thread is nothing more than a thinly veiled circle jerk.

No. 240046

I know it's not as simple as men vs women, I'm just tired of people's expectations as a whole. People can sometimes try to guess your personality or habits or other unrelated things depending on whether you wear makeup or not. Saying that men look like shit is an exaggeration but there's a difference between looking clean and looking clean+using makeup in my opinion.

>>240014
>And making already depressed people feel even worse on purpose is simply not fair.
I though that anon's contribution to the losers thread was useless at best but that's not a good argument, she was talking about herself, how other people interpret her post is their responsibility. I think it was a bad post because that's an easy way to get off-topic since she's, you know, not a loser and she didn't even said why she could still feel like one.

No. 240047

But knowing that you're not the only girl who's probably end up dying as a friendless virgin does feel kind of reassuring though, just the thought of not being completely alone.

This is what the girl wrote about herself
>9/10 with makeup
>skinny
>likes to crack jokes and go on spontaneous trips
>not a virgin
>not a NEET
>a lot of hobbies
That's not just a little bit "less unfortunate"

you seem pretty butthurt, and you obviously care. also, the op straight up said she was butthurt about seeing someone who has it better since her thread was supposed to be a circle jerk, but whatever.

you deliberately left out the parts where she says she has no desire to wear makeup and says she's average looking.
you left out the part where she mentions she has problems with eating. (eating disorder maybe?).

has a personality. big deal? has no desire to go to trips alone because no friends. no bueno.

not a virgin, only been with one person. who cares.

mentioned she was a neet before. you left EVERYTHING out of context. good job.

you didnt include the fact she has no energy to do her hobbies. could be depression. could be a busy lifestyle. you don't know. stop leaving things out of context.

i agree with above anon that the thread is full of a bunch of that bitch from watamote. imagine a horde of female neckbeards telling you off for not being lame enough to stroke their ego.
