I'm really interested in the new 2018 iPad that's only $300. I want to go paperless for my notes but typing doesn't help me retain information, so I feel like the iPad and Apple Pencil would be a good solution. Plus I want something that can read and annotate PDFs, since pretty much all of my textbooks are digital. I have a perfectly good laptop, though, so I'm hesitant to buy the iPad because I'm afraid it'll be redundant and not all that beneficial. Does anybody else use a laptop/computer in tandem with a tablet? Is a tablet actually going to be useful?

Thinking about building my own computer… Is $545 for all the parts + the monitor a good deal? Is it even worth the effort if I'm only going to use it for osu!, school shit, torrenting, and otome?

If I do it, I think I want to use Windows 7 as my os… Should I pay for that or just pirate it?

List the parts. It sounds a bit expensive if that's all you wanna do.

N-no, I'm too self conscious… How much do you think I should pay for parts? Without the monitor, the total is about $460. I really just want something that will last a long time.

I bought the iPad Pro primarily for drawing reasons (and it’s been great in that regard), but it’s been useful as fuck in classroom settings, especially for professors who upload Powerpoint slides prior to lectures so you can mark it up with the Apple pencil. My laptop’s pretty terrible (broken trackpad, heavy as fuck, dented) so the tablet’s been a perfect supplement, especially with a cheap 12 USD keyboard.

Admittedly, though, if you have an issue with retaining information when typing, using the Pencil isn’t the perfect solution either. I don’t find it to be a perfect analog to traditional note taking, with the way the default/free note taking apps handle pen pressure, shortcut options, or ways to combine text and handwritten notes. There’s apparently very good note taking apps, but they cost at least 5-10 USD (which I’m too cheap for).

Sure, there’s a bunch of redundancy when you’re using it in conjunction with a desktop/laptop, but there’s also a lot of ease in terms of portability and comfort (literally nothing is comfier than lying in bed and reading shit in portrait mode, or lying on my stomach and typing away on my portable keyboard).

Is the Kinect the only worthwhile webcam option for the Xbox one? Or can I just plug in a standard webcam and make that work? Obviously I want it to be decent quality, I want to start streaming as a way to make friends (I got an xbox as a gift while all my gamer friends have PS4s, so I need to find new friends to play with) and whike I don't think I need HQ quality, I would like one that isn't potato quality. I'm not afraid to pay for the Kinect, but I seriously doubt I'll ever use the motion sensor in my tiny apartment, so if there's a cheaper, comparable option sans motion senser I'd rrally prefer that.

The logitech c920 is the best option for streaming.

Ah, now I'm really tempted. I've heard some mixed thoughts on how the writing feels; some people say it's just like paper, others say it's completely alien. I'll probably head over to an Apple Store and try to test it out for myself and see how I like it. Thanks!

I'm looking for a good camera, as I want to get into photography. I don't need anything fancy, just better than a point and shoot but doesn't break the bank. I want it to take good pics in low lightung, and I really want one with wifi so I don't have to mess with cords tp upload to my laptop. My only option IRL for camera shopping ia sadly Wal-Mart (middle of nowhere, here) and I don't want to limit myself to their selection.

Are Skullcandy headphones reliable? I really want a pair of wireless over the ear headphones that aren't $300+, and I've been eyeing some of the Skullcandy models, specifically the Crusher wireless. I'm an absolute audio pleb so I don't really need "perfect" headphones as long as they don't sound like utter trash. Should I go for the Skullcandy ones or does anybody have any other recommendations for a solid pair of Bluetooth headphones in the $150 and under range?

A mirrorless camera would be good for you I think. Since you're a beginner, you could try one of the Olympus PENs, they're pretty cheap and it'll get you used to detachable lenses, also they're overall really cute and have some neat accessories that come with them if you're into that sort of thing.

For a really good quality mirrorless (that I have myself, since I got tired of lugging heavy shit on day hikes around mountains with me), look into the Sony α series. I have the α6000 and am very happy with it. They're a bit more expensive but worth it imo.

If money is very tight you could also look into used cameras, but I'd stay away since people often try to sell barely usable scrap metal with a half-destroyed sensor and scratched up lenses, and you'll want your camera to be sturdy and survive slightly harsher weather conditions. Most of them don't usually have WiFi either.

Ultimately the camera won't matter as much as the lenses (which is why I recommended the Olympus PEN as the lenses are a lot cheaper than Sony), your eyes, practice and a bit of luck too. Don't listen to gearfags. Also, for low light conditions you'll want a good tripod if you're planning on taking landscape photos or long-exposure.

>ps4 displaying "overheat!" message as soon as it's turned on
>internet tells me to clean the cooler
>attempt to do it by removing the top cover and blowing air into it
>no dice
>google some more
>will need to actually open it
>too afraid to mess something up
>must now take it somewhere
I was saving up for a Nintendo switch and now I have to choose between paying someone to fix it and not getting a switch anytime soon, or trying to do it myself and risk fucking it up and needing a new ps4.

why o why

Why are PC parts so expensive?
I just got interested in building my own PC but oh my god those prices…
I live in a 3rd world country so finding a variety of components for cheap is out of the question. Not even craigslist can help me here

what's a good pre-built PC for mid-level gaming that I can buy? everything i'm seeing is either 1K or has an integrated graphics card.

No. 280040

>>280017
there's no "good pre-built," they're all going to be exorbitantly expensive that way, or be trash if you find a cheap one. buy the parts and build your own, it's not difficult. look on Reddit and pc part picker for guidance.

I'd suggest you look at this build list on Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/wiki/builds
The cheapest build starts at $318 with similar GPUs as current consoles.

I'm personally thinking about getting The Crusher that's currently going for $483.

Unlocking the bootloader and rooting is very device specific. Find the XDA forum for your device.

Ah, just a thread that I need.
So, I need decent headphones with a microphone, preferably in the $100 range, but I don't mind paying a bit more, like up to $150.

What is important is that they're comfortable, over ear type, and that they have a good microphone as I will be communicating a lot online. It won't be for playing games, I just want to be heard crisp clear for work.
Of course, I'd like the sound to be good, but it doesn't have to on an audiophile level.

Is it possible to hack and switch the region on your 3dsll and still be able to play online with the physical copy of the game?

No. 301763

>>301743
If you're just using that region-unlocking homebrew app, then no. If you're completely changing the region, then yes (I think). You can't play any other games that are outside of that region online though (including shit like pokemon bank).
