Has anyone tried making female friends using apps like bumble, tindr, her, etc?

Please share your opinion or experience.

i tried bumblebff and every girl was like the same girl. they all liked netflix, wine and brunch.

I used it briefly and it was okay. Everybody was pretty nice. I met up with a couple and it all went well.

Imo it did feel a bit artificial though, but I also don't like dating apps so that might be a me issue.

Friends are usually made when you're forced to be close together for a time, eg school work roommates sex etc. When there's nothing that compelling who has the time and the energy to chase after internet friends?

Exactly my experience too. I deleted it within a few days.

agree. I cbf to go out of my way to make friends outside of my boyfriend, I'm content to chill with my coworkers occasionally. but I'm super introverted.

I made all of my friends from Twitter and Tumblr, although it is hard finding locals to meet up with and doing real life friend stuff. I tried looking for friends on OkCupid, but most of them were in poly relationships looking for a 3rd person. Yuck.

this is correct - you don't really bond unless you experience situations at the same time, over time. There are schizos >>351959 who think that people they talk to on the computer are their friends lmao (those are your friends in the same way you've "been places" in the youtube videos you watched today. go read anons post in the other thread about how her best confidant turned out to be a man who was getting off on tricking her. it's not always that malicious, but it's always that imaginary) I assume this thread is actually about trying to make actual friends, i.e. IRL

You're paranoid, I've met up with 4 of my closest female internet friends who live in the area and they turned out to be exactly who they are. I saw the post about the other anon who found out her longest internet friend was a man. It sucks, but it's a rare case. I assume you believe 95% of users are male here as well?

I met 3 of my girl friend using 3 different apps lol. Then promptly deleted them. I tried talking to a few different girls but so many are flakes …

Those 3 girls I met though are now really good friends, we even went on a trip with 2 of them.
So honestly I'm pretty pleased. I'm not bad at making friends but usually girls never really follow up with invitations to go out after we met once and exchanged contacts whereas guys seem down for drinks most of the time.

I've tried making "friends" via different Aminos but it reminded me of how out-of-touch I'm getting as I age since 90% of users are teenagers. Or maybe I'm a sperg in general. I just wanna have people that like me without getting too close to each other.

Tinder sucked too because I was never entirely sure what people were expecting out of it or what I should expect out of it. Feels like a hookup app full of people trying to cover up the fact that its a hookup app and subsequently making themselves look ignorant.

Idk you guys, making friends in your 20s feels useless. Everyone's already established or is friendless for a good/scary reason.

>Idk you guys, making friends in your 20s feels useless. Everyone's already established or is friendless for a good/scary reason.

This makes me feel so sad. I am friendless for a good reason (being socially retarded, mental health issues) but I want to get better and I want to have a friend or two. I really hope that I am not a hopeless case. Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve friends but then I remember horrible people/cows that are liked and think that I can't be worse than them…

I’d say 20’s is a prime time to make friends;
- everyone is discovering themselves so they’re more open to new experiences/social circles
- a lot of people go to tertiary education, whether it’s vocational or college/university
- many internship opportunities
- join the workforce, plenty of colleague friendship opportunities there
- most people are super social outings wise, whether that’s clubbing or going to a niche community event

20’s are when most people make their lifelong friends, you guys shouldn’t give up hope

Just installed bumblebff
Let's see how it goes? I swiped a bunch but most girls are like… Normie frat/party girls which I'm really not into.
Half the nerdy girls I've found were… Dyed hair fat unkempt SJWs
Let's see how this goes I guess

Agreed. My mom has no contact with any of her childhood friends - her best friends are all from her workplace where she worked for almost 20 years.

I got along really well with my fellow interns at my last internship, we probably would have become best friends if we'd all stayed on a little longer. Now most of them are moving to other cities and countries, but we still text each other once a day.

I agree, it was definitely easier making friends in my teens but I know a lot of very social people right now in their late twenties. Money holds me back from being one of them but I'm still interacting with quite a few people through just going to events. I think it'll still be similarly social for our early thirties too, looking at how our generation is going.
Whereas my mom in her fifties regularly admits she has no friends and aside from forcing her to join some kind of class, there really doesn't seem to be so many opportunities for her to meet people. I hope friend apps work properly when I'm her age.

How do you actually speak with people and make friends at events… what kind of events btw?
