This thread is for all the anons who are focused on aging on good terms rather than getting sad about it. You can talk about how it feels to get older and why you are grateful of not being so young anymore. Talk about your dreams, hopes for the future, and how you realized that life doesn't stop at some number. How life could actually get better as you work on yourself. Share tips & tricks to look and feel your best too.(/g/, ctrl+f aging)

I love this thread!
I'm about to be 26 and I feel like there's so much life ahead of me. I've never felt this before, I've always thought I would kill myself at a certain point in my life. But now that I finally graduated from college I feel like I can actually start acting with some direction in my life. Overall I'm excited. Hoping by the time I'm 30 things will be in place.

I'm pretty sure we have a few threads like this already but I guess there are a lot of retarded 20 somethings on /ot/ who need it.

I don't see significant changes in myself as I age except becoming richer and more self assured. It's easy to accept it when the reality is right in front of you - that you don't suddenly become a wrinkled old hag at an arbitrary age, that taking care of yourself really does pay off, that you don't feel much different in general.

I think the idea of getting 'old' is far more related to becoming a parent than it is to any specific age, because that's when your life becomes more about someone else than yourself, you take on a tonne of responsibility, can't be spontaneous, minimal free time for self care or hobbies etc. Since that's around 30 on average, people have decided 30 is the cut off for youth. But if you don't have kids there's no reason you can't live your life as per usual… chances are you can afford to have even more fun than you did in your 20s.

Anyway I'm actually really excited to be an old lady, I just wanna be retired and give no fucks. I admit I'm a little nervous about being middle aged because I don't plan on marriage or kids and everyone else does, so I'm probably gonna be lacking in friends. But you never know, maybe I'll find a CF girl gang.
