I work at a pet store and we usually won't sell to people who don't seem to be 100%. If we're suspicious then we'll refuse to sell if they don't buy proper equipment. (a lot of people think turtles and lizards can live in critter keepers. Um no)
Thing is, crickets are cheap. I don't think it was a matter of not being able to afford it. She just wanted to kill something. That picture made me upset. I own a lizard and a snake so I hate seeing them massacred like that. Especially knowing it died due to abuse or negligence.
