Voice clips of someone saying "I'm eating chicken" and this is supposed to clue me in to what the fuck this non-food vlogging Youtuber is about? Out of context mid-convo clips? With the extended Deepfake AI segment Matpat did, I would not be surprised if they fed these Youtube channels to a bot and asked it to clip parts of it to display for the show.
All in all it was cringy BS which I would expect of any eceleb award show, but it wasn't even funny-cringe. And I must be getting old because I had no idea who the majority of these people are. Nor did I know that Dream still is relevant enough to show his pug mug in public still.

There is also a video on the Bruce-Kris Jenner relationship that was quite interesting. It was done in a way that wouldn't
trigger any handmaidens but clearly peaking a whole lot of women in the comments to his very male and shitty behaviours since she took the opportunity to call him bruce and didn't just call him caitlyn the whole time. I like a lot of Kidology's videos but this kind of rubs me the wrong way, yes a lot of those tiktoks are fake skits to sell self defense products, that can be easily called out for exploiting a very real fear that most women have to sell products or apps. The consumerist nature of the self defense weapon videos, I don't have a lot of critique for consumerist types but I understand when people do, my first thought was that having 10+ self defense weapons on your keychain might make it harder to grab one, the point of small ones like that is convenience, so you can keep it close to your hands and can quickly grab it when needed. I can't imagine it would be quick or easy to fumble with a giant mess of metal and chains to find the one weapon you need at the time. But the way she straight up laughed in a mocking way at the first couple videos of women locking their doors with alarms and extra locks felt really mean spirited, just because they live in safe areas doesn't mean it's silly to lock your door and maybe the extra gadgets are excessive but that doesn't mean the women should be mocked. They could have been victims of assault at some point in their lives, they could have a threatening ex or a recent break in in their neighborhood could have spooked them. It feels like such a moid brained take to be like laughing at a women who's nervous being home alone at night or worried about a potential rape or assault when out alone. Yes these things are rare but they do happen, just because the rates of them might have gone down (only in certain areas, she left out major cities that have an increase in violent crime and countries that always have high rates of female violence) doesn't mean the risk isn't there.
She mentions how statistics show that most assaults and murders are perpetrated by someone the victim knows, that's true and still not a reason to mock women who feel unsafe being home alone or walking late at night. The "people they know" could be an ex who tries to break in one night or assault them on public transport, it could be a guy they know from school who follows them to their car one night. I don't understand the logic behind "well the one most likely to rape you is your husband so you might as well leave your door unlocked and not carry anything for protection when walking through sketchy areas." At one point she even says "1/4 of kidnapping are stranger abductions, but criminals are always one step ahead so having a small keychain weapon is not going to help you in that situation," like what the fuck? She's just straight up telling women to not try and fight back cause they'll likely lose.
She mocks a woman for feeling uneasy around an uber eats delivery man coming up to her apartment, makes it seem like she's ridiculous because the man is an employee that uber trusts to deliver and his location is known at all times. Completely glossing over the fact their have been food delivery men, taxi drives, UPS/postal workers who have commit assaults, rapes, theft, even child rape and murder. Just because the risk is low doesn't mean it's non existent, and doesn't make these women silly for being precautious.
She mentions how young people seem to be more paranoid and mistrusting, and paints that as a bad thing, saying they feel this way because they haven't experienced life yet. I think young girls are more mistrusting and nervous around strange men because they're starting to realize that there is a very real risk, that men are extremely predatory towards them and they're starting to realize how dangerous that can be. It's not bad to be cautious as a young girl, it's a good thing, it can help them keep themselves safe or as safe as possible.
She harps on about people's mistrust in community, again not seeing how that's necessarily bad when communities are also made up of pedophiles, domestic abusers, rapists, and violent men. She mentions how safe she is in the UK and how every night she goes to an abandoned car park at 1AM and roller skates, and because nothing bad has happened to her yet, she feels everyone being nervous about doing this is just silly and unprecedented. She then says the biggest thing that makes her feel safe doing this is knowing the neighbors around the area and knowing the community, but by her own logic that puts her at a greater risk of victimization considering most victims know their attacker. She even says at the end that self defense weapons will never help, but knowing people in your community will, who you can trust and who is sketchy. The problem is that some men can seem very trusting until it's too late, or the obviously sketchy ones don't need to gain a woman's approval to break into their home or follow them into a secluded area one night. I get what she was trying to do but she comes off extremely smug and naive about it, I'm not one to unsub because someone gives a rare shit take but this video makes me feel like she's actually retarded or something.
