For me it's Fire Emblem Fates. Here's what I'd change:
>change the localization entirely because it's so bad that half of the characters are ooc which makes the story nonsensical instead of just simple but melodramatic
>translate and release the unreleased DLCs
>put the two main routes in one cartridge, remove the DLC route because the maps and balance are total shit and the story ruins what the two normal routes tried to tell. Put the important plot points from it in the normal routes instead, which I suspect is what was planned until the marketing team decided to sell more DLCs
>make the online features available for everyone and not region locked
>add Japanese voice acting so I don't have to listen to one guy voicing 7 different characters, sometimes in the same cutscenes

No. 433424

- Made in abyss would have been toptier if they removed all the pedo bullshit. I had to stop watching it because it was way too gross.
- to your eternity should have ended way earlier, they dragged it too much with the reincarnation
-JJK’s ending was way too rushed and there were many holes in the story

I agree with you with JJK. That and Yuki in general. When checking the manga again it seems like she'll show up for longer but she doesn't at all. I like the ending, I don't think anything else needed to be added, it's just the pacing that's weird but Gege needed to get surgery soon before that so I won't blame him for that. The most stupid thing in the story imo is how Tsumiki is supposed to be so important and yet she isn't. She should have been Megumi's bio sister instead of his step sister just to make the Zenin clan even more retarded and Toji's deal with the old guy a bigger dilemma, like on one hand he wouldn't want his normal daughter to go anywhere near his fucked relatives for very obvious reasons but he would also want the best for Megumi who would have had a better life within the clan but separating them would be cruel. This kind of stuff.

The MiA manga is even worse than the anime. Some specific things that I'd change:
>Either change Ozen's helper who exists solely to be trapfag bait into a normal boy, or get rid of him (more time for Ozen scenes and Lyza flashbacks)
>Have Riko kill that monster with her mother's pickaxe instead of Reg
>I know the contrast between the kids and the monsters is the point, but the art style doesn't have to be THAT lolibaity
>Change Mitty's human design

I hate this fucking show.
>What don't you like?
Too much focus on Raegan's personal life. The side characters are all plain and unfunny, trent sucks. Raegan is too whiny. Ugly af artstyle. Never laughed once.
>How would you fix them?
Make it more action focused, completly ditch the comedy or make the comedy less referential, make Raegan cynical instead of a whiny teenager with daddy issues, give raegan a cool sidekick instead of an annoying normie one, completly kill off Raegan's dad, make the side characters have actual personalities instead of being lolsorandum filler.

Basically, less Bojack/Rick and Morty/Netflix influence and more Venture Bros/Adult Swim influence. What a waste of an amazing concept and cool female protagonist design, i will never forgive the writers but fucking up such a cool concept with their milennial faggotry.

The Man in the High Castle. I had such high hopes for this as a WW2fag who also loves alternate history. It had such a good premise. But the show was so fucking boring and they did nothing with good with it. The finale was so underwhelming too. I was like "That's it? That's what I wasted hours on?" I want

>keep the very idea of homeworld being an oppressive regime but play the tone of this very straight and serious

>it played more into the horror/sci-fi elements than the comedic/magical girl elements
>it was animated by people who actually know how to draw and animate
>completely different art style, maybe more detailed?
>a lot of the designs and characters would have to be scrapped because they’re offensive to the eyes
>no more bean mouth noodle arm style find something else
>honestly just remove steven from the entire show and rename it, it would’ve been soooo much better and way more interesting if it was solely focused on the three female characters and their relation to rose and homeworld
>rose plot would’ve been good as a murder mystery tbh
>better voice actresses, especially for garnet get an actually talented black woman to do it
>better writers (apparently they didn’t have much writers on this show and it was storyboard driven which shows)
>gendie/tranny pandering kept to a minimum or left out completely

A bunch of scrotes got their boxers wet over that show, their ultimate fantasy of Daddy Hitler’s ideology taking over America which would have never happened even in an alternative universe btw. If they wanted to add some truth or to make it feel more natural they would include CIA involvement and the very fact they took Nazi scientists from Germany to America to work them. I didn’t watch the show but honestly Operation Paperclip would’ve been a good start for the plot and would’ve made much more sense but these shows never want to tell the truth, only shove agendas into people’s faces and be used as scrote power fantasies that always include women getting oversexualized on the screen (despite it not even belonging in the context of the show like Game of Thrones kek). As an actual enjoyer of Rick and Morty I thought it was in no way comparable, R&M has actual character conflict underneath its adult cartoon humour which it pulls off much better and more subtly than Reagan and her incredibly stereotype daddy issues.

Frozen 2 is full of incredibly stupid decisions and it makes me so upset because the frozen franchise had so much fun potential… it's been a while since I watched it but here are things I remember letting me down
>Elsa's entire development arc in the first movie is removed, she's back to page 1 so we have to watch her learn the exact same shit she already learned in the first movie about not pushing people away
>Kristoff is turned into a bumbling fool comic relief character
>The voice calling Elsa was disappointingly boring and entirely pointless
I heard they didn't even decide what the voice really was until late in the development which checks out because it seems like they put 0 thought into it.
>The entire "water has memory" bullshit, that's so fucking boring and makes no sense
>The elemental spirits are so random. Elsa is a human with ice powers but also a bridge between all the powers (what?), there is a horse made of literal water, a normal tiny lizard with fire powers, and a wind spirit that is just… actual literal invisible wind. And giants made of rock.
Missed opportunity to make them all into interesting human characters with powers like Elsa, they could even have made dolls and costumes for all of them making it so you have a "fire Elsa"-character and "wind Elsa"-character. People would go wild for toys and costumes and fanart etc… Or even just make them all into cool magical animals so kids can imagine they have magical pets like them. If they had turned them human they could have explored Elsa meeting people with powers like her, finally giving her people to relate to. Maybe one of them thinks having powers make them superior to others, maybe one is ashamed of their powers too, maybe one is trying to get rid of the powers… there's so much they could have done with it.
>The northulda/whatever they were called people are just… offensive
Now I'm not usually one to call "racism reee" but these people are super obviously meant to be Sami people, a white native group of people in Northern Europe. Except they turn them all browner and treat them as sort of "native American" people. It's like they literally cannot grasp that there are white native people unrelated to other native groups in the world.
>They retcon Elsa and Anna's ancestry into being part of this native group, for obvious woke points. But only because they forgot that the real native group is actually also white and they're just double-white now.
>Oh and Kristoff was also a reference to Sami people so now they have made 2 separate bad representations of their culture that aren't even related in-universe
>The plot overall makes no sense AND is boring.
Elsa's power being explained as "she is the bridge between magic and humans" is so lackluster and means nothing. Like literally what does it mean? There's nothing that unlocks, no new missions for her to do. And also the "magic" consists of… a horse made of water and a lizard on fire and those boring guys. There is barely any magic to bridge to to begin with! Creatures like the trolls already have magic, and the humans were fine talking to them already as established in the first movie. It means nothing!!!

Frozen 2 had the opposite problem to the first movie: it needed a villain. Like, REALLY needed a villain. I legitimately can't remember what the characters did for 70% of the runtime. And their decisions made no sense at all.

I think MHA would've been an enjoyable super hero shounen series but this slop has way too many flaws that I had to drop the anime. I don't read the manga but feel free to add anything else. Here are some of my reasons and changes to make it better:
>do not sexualize the female characters
Shounen has always suffer from this and it's so tiring, unnecessary, distasteful and done to death. Instead, write them better or give them interesting backstories other than fanservice eye candy to horny moids. Might as well sexualize the guys too.
>remove Mineta
He doesn't add anything to the series but being an insufferable sex pest for the "comedy", an annoying cry baby and somehow got into one of the top classes of the school. Also he has a retarded diaper costume. I fucking hate him. It be more tolerable if he was girl perving on hot guys instead.
>Ochako falling in love with Deku was unnecessary and out of nowhere, same with the whole "fighting to be Deku's gf" shit with Toga
Ochako used to be fine as Deku's friend but having a crush on him felt forced like as if he's a self-insert for dweeb loser moids to have girls all over him. It had my eyes rolled since moids can't resist having a female character falling in love with the mc or involve lust in their shounen. It sucks because she was interesting at first on becoming a super hero so she can earn money and help her parents to take it easy since they're kinda poor which I find that sweet of her. Also, her battle with Bakugo was cool too since the audience find it as an unfair match but she kept going until she's out of it. Unfortunately, they had to ruined her as being the stupid love interest for the mc like Hinata from Naruto. Heard that she doesn't get any better later in the series.
>Toga's transformation quirk doesn't make sense
I don't understand how her clothes can transform too and melts away even though she uses blood? They should've stayed on unless she has an illusion quirk but no. It's just a way to see her naked whenever her quirk wears off since she's a waifubait yandere. I hate her.
>redesign Yaoyorozu's hero outfit
Even though she's one of the brightest students in her class, she has a retarded coomshit outfit that's impractical to her object creation quirk by pulling things out of her skin. As seen during the villian ambush in the training grounds, she created a protection sheet from her back which tore her outfit but to also show her boobs by the end of it as fanservice. Ugh, why not give her a sports bra instead of that stupid boob belly window yet her sides and back are being covered? Retarded design.
>Hagakure
Ok I think the whole invisible girl thing is a funny concept but it's weird that she actually goes around naked and of course revealed to be a beautiful 10/10 girl. She could've gotten a suit made with her hairs or cells similar to Mirio's and have it work with her quirk but no. It's another one of those dumb bs just to see fanservice of the girls which is fucking stupid. Yaoyorozu could've gotten a suit made with her hairs or cells too. Also how could Hagakure be so pretty if she can't see herself?
>Bakugo lacks personality other than just being pissed and angry all the time
I know he's the rival to Deku and has an explosion quirk but come on. It's seems like there hasn't been any character development on him at all.
>the anime shouldn't change the girls' bodies
In comparison to the manga, the anime made the girls thinner with less pudge and enlarged Nejire's boobs. Basically further sexualizing them which is so disappointing.
>add more mutant or unconventionally attractive female characters
Compared to the male characters they have a variety of designs but the females are all made to look attractive and fuckable. Even that one giant mutant girl with the pointed nose. Cowards. Recovery Girl was the only good one who's different from the rest.

No. 433711

>>433666
Imo the author shouldn't have made the class so large in the first place with a crap ton of adult superheroes on top of the mess if he couldn't commit to adding characterization for all of them.
Giving the mc seven quirks was the biggest mistake over all though, the mc was already too OP, the story should've pushed the "power is too strong for him to handle" and had him use more strategy to fight villans.
The villians were also a problem, the hand guy wasn't much of a magnet on his own and he's just pushed around for the most part. There was no agency and little charisma.
Slimming the story down and putting more effort into character development and progress, also while Deku becoming a teacher isn't a problem, it really should be foreshadowed earlier, have him enjoying teaching others, chatting with Almight in that direction, helping people out, that sort of thing.

Five Nights at Freddy's, William, Henry, and Michael's story had so much wasted potential. The story became too complicated to hold the attention of its fans by creating a 'mystery' to lead on its followers while Scott made the story as he went, turning it into a cash cow.
The fans are what makes Five Nights at Freddy's enjoyable, and although I'll gladly eat up anything released by this franchise, I choose to believe the story ended with the sixth game. Security breach would have been a great addition to the franchise if it didn't add the Afton ending as well as the whole VR aspect; it should have been a story about a girl (Vanessa) who grew an unhealthy obsession with the killer's crimes and became a copycat killer.
The story of two business partners working towards making their dreams become a reality only to be struck by tragedy due to their own creation makes for an amazing story.
I would depict William as a father who spiraled into madness following the death of his son due to not only his business partner's creation but also his eldest son, which drives him to seek revenge by targeting his son's bullies using the mascot suit to lure, and murder them because he believes that murder will bring him solace.

If I could change a detail from the story, I would change the random children who William killed to the children from the party who had a part in helping Michael lift his brother to the animatronic. I would also make Charlie's death come later after the events that happened possibly being his last child he murdered, being the only body that was found while the others were stuffed in the suit.
I would also explain that the animatronic experienced a failure in the pressure system, which caused its mouth to shut and not release.
I don't think it would have made sense for William to just go forward with rebranding and reopening the restaurant after what happened to his son, so I'd like to imagine Henry, his business partner; refused to let their shared dreams and hard work crumble and decides to continue the restaurant's operations despite the grim circumstances, hoping to both honor their initial vision and provide a sense of normalcy for the community, which causes William to seek revenge, sabotaging and framing him by carrying out the murders by preying on each bully, one by one.
Then lastly William, In a drunken state becomes consumed by jealousy towards Henry, whose life seemed unaffected while he suffered not only losing a child but the destruction of his family life drives him further into madness, convincing himself that Henry's family is somehow responsible for his downfall, and he believes that by taking away someone Henry cherishes he can finally inflict the same pain that he felt.

I like to think that William became who he is because of that event that happened and the aftermath being that his eldest son had a part in his child's death as well as his best friend and business partner.

It's a wasted potential as a drama/romance. The trope of an average girl catching the eye of the prince is so overdone. I liked it much better when it was still a story about a nobody (turns out she isn't really a nobody) working in the shadows and romancing a eunuch, with such a union having few future prospects. There is much more tearjerking and drama potential in the latter. I guess it takes too much effort, so let's fall back on the tried and tested trope.

Yes! How about instead of the voice nonsense a person with fire powers appears to threaten the peace, Elsa can't protect everyone because her ice just melts from the fire. Make the fire guy kinda hot and mysterious. At the same time they fight she realizes they're similar, she's torn between wanting to protect people from the fire guy being evil but it's the first time she's been able to relate to another person with powers so she wants to know more and to "save" him. This guy doesn't even have to end up being a love interest for Elsa, but just put some vague romantic tension there and fans will go wild with speculation and begging for a new movie to see the development between the two. It's a pretty stereotypical route to go, I'll fully admit that, but I think it could work and for most kids who haven't seen/read as many stories yet it still will feel new and exciting.

This way Anna and co would be upset that Elsa has compassion for the evil guy who is trying to kill them all, without Elsa having to be the one to yet again push everyone away like in the first movie. Elsa says she understands what it's like to be seen as the villain, while Anna is angry and says it's different because Elsa never actually was a bad person unlike this guy. There's just so much obvious good and natural tension to be written this way!

Like you said, the reason fnaf sucks is all because of Scott, he doesn't know how to properly manage his franchise and lets it all get taken care of by Steel Wool who releases kiddie-slop based on it so he can get dem shekels while he does nothing, my eyes rolled so hard with the newest game trailer and into the pit was a snoozefest. I haven't played any of the new games, there hasn't been a singular decent fnaf game after fnaf 6 and it's sad because the premise of a haunted pizza place with animatronics and a batshit-insane serial killer with a son who tries to undo the shit he caused later in life while suffering throughout all of it (which makes for good whump material) is perfect, but nothing good gets done based on it.

Nah, they went the opposite route and tried to make everyone look the same so we'd all feel like we went to school together. They just made the fugliest uniforms to ever exist, but they want us to look back and feel like there was a universal "look" to the protagonist while giving us the illusion of looking how we want. Sword and shield forces you to wear the challenger uniform in all important battles for the same reason.

I've never read Bleach but did he fully admit this is the reason why the manga is so long? I never finished Naruto and never read Bleach because at the time it was already long and still not over. The shonen jump has shorter series now because they saw that their mangaka's health was all fucked up when making long series and we still had Gege having JJK on hiatus several times because of several different health issues despite JJK being way shorter. So I didn't thibk a mangaka would fully admit that his series got too long because his editors wanted to stretch it and make it make more money.

It's not about her 'using' her status, but others doing it. You think a prince would ever want a permanent relationship with a literal-who from the bordello district? No chance. Pump and dump at best. But as the daughter of an important court official she isn't viewed as an inappropriate match for the prince's consort/harem member - she faces no opposition or second thoughts to their romance as it is. Writing the drama of Cindarella being picked up by a guy with a much higher social standing would have been just too bothersome for the author.

I'm still mad that there was no relationship development beyond a handful of scenes. Yeah, the showrunners couldn't do much more than they did, but it's weird that they apparently wanted Korrasami as endgame from the start and still decided to focus on the retarded love triangle instead of Korra and Asami's friendship/budding romance.

It's a whole Redditor-makes-an-anime bingo card.
None of the characters act like humans. They're flatter than paper and there's literally no reason for them to be stuck in the game. I'd like the story a lot more if there was some reasoning behind that, even if it was a weird social experiment run by some glasses-wearing billionaire genius 12 year old psychopath or another typical anime villain. Or if the game was a scam and the developers ran off with the money and now everyone's stuck in the game because the headsets are fucked up but there's a team somewhere trying to figure out how to fix that, and the only fix they found so far is reaching level 100. There are ten thousand people stuck inside a game and I'm supposed to believe that the only thing that's happening IRL is everyone wringing their hands and making no effort to find a way of fixing this outside of shoving people into hospital? Come on. Even if the government don't do shit there'd be multiple forums dedicated to finding a safe way out, by working on patches for the game to give the players extra lives, making the monsters less dangerous, upping the efficiency of weapons and armor, or just by messing with the people behind the game until they caved. You'd think that a moid writing about vidya would know this, but apparently not.
The premise is great, but a scrote with no life wrote it, so now we're stuck with this slop instead of anything decent.

imo I find it very hard to believe that the whole korrasami being endgame thing was actually true, because even if they were having trouble getting the romance aspect okayed, that doesn't really excuse their general friendship/positive relationship not being more of a focus throughout the show. Like, getting past censorship mostly means not showing anything overtly romantic/sexual, it's not that hard to slip things past, plenty of media has done it better and made less of a song and dance about it once they ended. I liked the idea of korrasami, just not the execution and the almost retcon-y comments from the creators about it.

I have to disagree with changing the actresses and removing Steven, I personally enjoyed his character, especially how the decision to have him completed Rose's arc and in turn how Rose's legacy effected him. It can be the case, but I've compared enough ln to anime adaptions to know that they have the tendency to cut out chunks of the story without thinking of the consequences of doing so, and changing the mc to be much more of a nice guy/blank slate so they can be more relatable to the audience.

I don't care what anyone says, the remake is fucking trash. Bryan O'Malley really whimped out over the years. How can he make a story about Scott reflecting on his mistakes if he never gets to make those mistakes in the first place. Retconning the story destroys all of it's impact.

I loved the original SP graphic novel back in the day. It was the first time I saw the self-insert male protag actually having his main-character attitude challenged. It was important to see his world collapse and how he effected his friends. The last two volumes were incredible and gave Scott a lot of growth.

The only saving grace is some more screen time and backstory for Ramona and the exs, but that could have been done without nerfing the original story.

NAYRT. i really liked the concept of her character and enjoyed how attractive the art and backgrounds were, but i loathe Jinshi and how he reminds me of the creepy moids IRL who sexually harass women who clearly aren't interested and i couldn't enjoy the manga each time he appeared because of that. but this is ancient china in an inner palace setting where authority abuse et cetera could be expected. it was disappointing to see Maomao get attracted to him later? i've seen spoilers from the novel where he talked about how he wanted her as a concubine, but do the light novels have them actually get together? forcing her to be a concubine would be stupid and would make me loathe Jinshi more because isn't it Maomao's desire to have the freedom to go about her hobby, and making her a concubine would limit her freedom to do that? it lines up with his forceful character and never respecting her boundaries though.

i don't typically like CGDCT because it can get boring and forced, but in a setting and plot like kusuriya it could have worked and would have been so much better because the male characters that i remember made me disgusted. it didn't seem like they had a purpose outside of harassing Maomao even with Jinshi's plot of being the prince. it doesn't have to be CGDCT because if Jinshi wasn't the coercive type then it would be okay.

God I hate them! Allow me to rant, I'm an autist (obviously) who loved mlpfim so I was ready to give G5 an honest try. But they look like shit, their human faces are freaky and why do they have fucking eyebrows?!

Even the names are shit! When you give character names lesson no.1 is to NOT give them name that are too similar in sound, but they clearly slept in on that lesson because the main groups names are Zipp, Pipp, Hitch, Izzy. And Sunny. Out of the entire main cast they only vowel used is the "I" sound, apart from Sunny having the U.
The names aren't even fun/pretty like MLP names usually are, nor do they tell us anything about them. Applejack is obviously the apple horse. Rainbowdash is clearly about going fast and dashing around, Fluttershy is shy and soft like a butterfly. But what the fuck is Pipp?! They took the magic and meaning out of the names AND made them all sound too similar. It honestly feels like someone who had never interacted with MLP ever before stepped in to name them because it makes no sense at all.

Fuck them for adding a boy to the main cast. This is a show for girls. They KNOW the damage bronies did to the show by creating porn of it, adding a boy pony is just pandering to them. Little boys who watched the show liked it without a boy in the main cast, so they would still like this gen too without a boy in the cast. Leave him out and let girls have their own thing for once.

The color choices are bad. While the colors in >>435292 have adjusted saturation to stand out more, they typically look more like picrel. The yellow and the orange are too close in color, and the pink and purple are too close in color. So their names all sound the same AND they look the same. It's both boring and confusing. And I feel like the colors clash too. The magenta hair on an orange horse is just not very appealing. And disregarding the design, they put them all in a modern city instead of a fantasy country like the last gen. So they again sucked the magic out of the show. It's like they did everything they could to kill the show.

I could go on and on about how they wasted so much decent plot-points:(Pink Diamond murder mystery, How ruthless the Diamonds was to Homeworld and how to fight back against them, Rose not being this perfect gem as other see her as (without that shitty Rose was Pink Diamond "twist"), who/what was Loin and it's connections to Rose, Gems and magic in general, etc). Only for it to either: be trash, never bought up again, or poor payoff; for example: The (TRUE) Rose Quartzes who was bubbled up. They did NOTHING with them for the rest of the main show then they finally get to them in SUF and the show had the nerve to tell them to fuck back off to their prison ship with Steven not even helping to clear the quartzes' kind or making them feel welcome to live on Earth with the rest of the Homeworld gems.

They were all off-putting to us and I'm not sure exactly why. I guess when you can't even tell what animal it is on the first glance it stops being interesting. Obviously things aimed around at adults are going to be more understated and tasteful than things aimed at middle schoolers. That said, I think it's probably easier for Sanrio to be more selective with Japanese companies than with American ones, which might also explain why the American brands are more global consoomer shit and the Japanese ones are more specialized to the Japanese fashion market.

I hatewatched SAO after my normie friend who was just getting into anime recommended it to me, at the peak of SAO's popularity. IIRC the first episode was the only one that showed potential, the first two at most, and it all went downhill after that. Extremely boring setups that didn't deliver, obvious haremshit teasing, the cringe-ass "daughter" shit, and don't even need to mention the absolute trash that was the "resolution". I think my friend was just impressed by the action and animation and the "epic" cinematic shots, which I admit were kinda cool, but it's a dime a dozen when you're not new to anime.
Surprisingly, I liked the second season better, in spite of the perverted Asuna rape shit and the cousin incest. I liked that they stopped pretending they were in any real danger (except for Asuna) and it just became a normal fantasy video game war story with them forming alliances and preparing a big army, it was infinitely more fun. Not to say that it was actually good, I just enjoyed more of it than the first season.

>Give Sayaka one or two more episodes to feel the pressure of being a magical girl + let the soul gem revelation sink in
>This would also give her and Kyoko more time to learn how to tolerate each other
>Maybe she fails to save someone from a witch and THAT'S what officially kick-starts the despair arc rather than "just" the soul gem twist alone. The whole "I'm a monster and must keep fighting" mentality would make more sense in this context I think
>Foreshadow Hitomi's crush even if it's just 1 line
>Keep that one conversation Madoka has with her mum, but change it so she doesn't just let her daughter go out into a hurricane?? Just make her run away or something, I know it's supposed to be a touching scene but it was so dumb and ooc

I watched a movie with my mom recently called Fingers, starring Harvey Kietel, one of her favorite actors. We both liked the movie and it was good, but you can almost visibly see how the script could have been improved.

It's about this guy being torn between two worlds: one as a low-level gangster enforcer and one as a pianist. He is highly neurotic about being stuck between these two worlds and that neuroses ends up ruining the possibility of being a concert pianist despite his considerable skill. So, all he has left is being a gangster.

But since this was a 70's movie, there's this whole huge subplot about him being a sex crazed loser. Rough sex and rape and impotence and shit that only marginally added to the movie. Replace that stuff with more of the central plot, which was a little thin, and it would have been much better.

They don't understand they're not saying for example "I want to hide my sex for privacy and to stay mysterious" but that to people who care it means "I truly believe I'm not male nor female but a magical mix that makes me both or neither" and that people will take that religiously seriously if they're in the gender-cult, or they'll be freaked out that you support drugging up and mutilating kids if they're peaked. By the way at some point everyone was saying Gege Akutami was a woman, then started assuming he(?) is a guy over how JJK is written. His case is ever weirder because Ken Akamatsu, the guy who made Love Hina and who became a senator did some speech or interview about female mangaka and used Gege as an example but not many people mention this. I'd almost go as far as to say men can enjoy it too, but I would only count it if they genuinely do not see it as coom in any way which takes out at least 90% of them, but I'm sure there's like a few gay twinks and dads who enjoy it sincerely too.

Well I'm not sure that would've made sense since Misa was more than willing to sacrifice innocent bystanders too, in fact it's how we're introduced to her. I think her turning on Light and renouncing her wicked deeds would actually kind of be cliche. I liked how she basically stayed terrible for the entire story lol. Though yeah it would've been cool to see her have a bit more agency and stand up to Light more

>>433731
I disagree that it becomes a power fantasy, I mean you basically have Light's own team gradually turning against him behind his back when the whole time he thinks he's in control. I think Near not putting up with any of Light's bullshit and not being impressed by him kinda renders Light as more weak, for lack of a better term, it makes him mad that his new competition just finds him flat out disgraceful. But I know Near's character and the whole second season barely got fleshed out cuz they just didn't have enough time, so I can see why people found it rushed and that things barely made sense and was getting pulled out of thin air. One thing I'd change about Death Note is getting more insight into Wammy's house and how the children there were treated, and a bit more on the relationship between Near and Mello. Probably more into the worldwide consequences of Light's rule over the population too.

I would have read something like this. I'm not interested in MHA at all as it is and won't give it a try though, especially with how long it is. Every single time I hear about WSJ editors forcing artists to change things before starting publishing recent series it's always for the worst, I wish they'd give artists more freedom instead of shoving school settings down everyone's throats. Even when I was a kid I hated this except in Harry Potter and it's because the school itself is interesting and plot relevant and not just a marketing thing.

I first watched this anime right when starting my own first job and it was very similar to my own life so I'll always have a very big soft spot for it. I love 95% of it, love the characters, the slice of life plot lines, the aesthetic and the fact that there are no male characters.

But of course… they had to make the last 5% gross moid pandering coom shit. The rest of the show is so perfect, then boom it's a close up of one of the girls genitals in underwear. It makes me so mad because it's so nearly a perfect show that I would wholeheartedly openly share with everyone, but because of that last 5% I instead don't want to even tell anyone I've seen it. I hate that men can't create anything without making it coom. I sometimes consider downloading it all and editing out all the coom bits for my own enjoyment and so I can show people the show without them having to see those parts.

>How do you anons see imagery like this and not think it's going to be for coombrained moids.
We know, but the vast majority of the show is still isn't coom and it's paced and written near identical to female created media for girls. It's usually just a handful of moments thrown in to keep the moids watching to pay their salary. Not to mention older female centric media did the same, so many female created shoujo mangas/shows show naked girls, have them talk about their boob sizes and such so we've been groomed from a young age to accept it as natural. Even more innocent kids shows like pokemon had characters talking about boob sizes and looking sexy.
It's also not like it's just a Japanese thing, as a teen I was recommended some older horror and fantasy movies from the 70s-90s and I shit you not every single one had at least one topless young woman in them at some point. I asked about it and the person who recommended them didn't even realize or remember it. Granted those were usually aimed at an older audience of teens, but it's still everywhere. Females being annoyed by it isn't something that should surprise you, we know it's there, we just still prefer watching something over staring at a blank wall.

You must not know a lot about moe. The way the characters are drawn tell you exactly what audience it's made for and who is more likely to like it. Moe style ≠ shoujo style. Otaku men are attracted to anime girls that look like >>438727 not to mention the emphasis on the characters' thighs, or breasts in the case of two of them, their tiny hands, huge alien heads and eyes, tiny dot noses and mouths and retarded ~cute and girly~ poses they're doing.
>>438842
>99% of it still mimics female shows for girls
Yes, that's what moeshit is about. They steal the basic aesthetics and plots from shoujo manga created by/for girls, and then add coomer elements to it that pedotaku will enjoy. See picrel. I don't blame you for liking the non-coomer stuff in moe anime, it makes perfect sense, but these shows weren't made for you in the first place, they're made for the kind of male that wants to fuck (or become) the little girl characters in magical girl shows for actual little girls. A lot of shows like these are made, and that's a lot of wasted potential because they're all focused on providing a sexual fantasy for moids instead of doing something more interesting and ambitious with its premise.

>>438834
>>438857
GK was not originally made for women. It just happened to get a large female fanbase like Prince of Tennis which wasn't for girls at first, either, but when the publishers realized they could profit off the female audience they started to pander to them (which I support). Regardless, these manga aren't the rule, they're the exception.
Usually if a moeshit show has subtle enough coomer elements, it can attract a female audience as well if it's well-written (often because it has a female writer or director). But this isn't always the case.

That's the odd part to me about this topic. If you as a man make a series for men, why do you make something that bores them so much they'd stop watching unless you put in some irrelevant sexual shots here and there. Why not just make sexy shows then?
Given that men for some reason love life sim games (without coom in them) like truck driving games, realistic farming games and they love those boring ass shows like men digging for gold in alaska or building some shit and such makes me think there really is a market for slice of life content for men too.

When I first watched this anime as teen, Tomoko is one of those very few female characters that made me feel seen and strongly relate to since she's a socially awkward loser who has done cringey things but also likes otome and hot guys. The thing is, my biggest gripe is the yuribait shit since the writer is a scrote unfortunately. It felt out of place and I honestly find it more cringe than the other embarrassing things that Tomoko has done. Of course a scrote wouldn't understand how women would behave around other women even when they're friends or socially awkward. Why can't they just make it as a normal female friendship instead of seeing Tomoko as a yuri harem protagonist? And the whole thing with her being predatory towards her middle school friend was fucking weird too. Like can it not be sexual and just have Tomoko admire her friend's glow up and maybe inspire to be like her instead of wanting to grope her if Tomoko was ever a dude? Also a little nitpick but maybe make Tomoko less "loli-looking" in way? I know there are skinny and petite women out there but anime girls like her attract degenerate moe lolifags similar to Konata. I just want a relatable female character and see her self-development and slowly improve herself.

From what I've gathered by asking guys about it, they find the sexual fanservice stuff either eye-roll-worthy or outright uncomfortable (they didn't mind subtle or humorous stuff though). Granted, these men were all turbo normies with healthy relationships towards media and, as far as I can tell, sex, which makes me feel as though the majority of horny fanservice in non-sexy shows is there for a specific male audience (eg obsessive, horny otaku), rather than men or boys as a whole. Some people are just such rancid little cumbrains that they cannot engage with anything without it either possessing scenes designed to titillate them, or forcing it in via fan content when it doesn't exist. This also ties into merch and trying to cash in on waifuism, which is also something most of an audience won't ever really engage with, but the few that do can be dedicated enough to basically bankroll a franchise (often leading to an increase in said fanservice if that's the part that's motivating these fans).
