I'm a man, and i began balding when i was 18, and now, being 20, i have a massive receding hairline and a huge bald spot on the back of my head. Since this has begun happening i have found it harder and harder to find women who are interested in me, so i'd like your opinions on this.

How can a man go bald gracefully? Is a bald head a big disadvantage at my age?

I know many on here don't appreciate male posters but i'd really appreciate getting some opinions on this that don't come from friends who worry too much about insulting me

pic related is quite similar to my current situation(USER HAS BEEN PUT OUT TO PASTURE)

balding seems to be tough on most guys. my childhood friend started balding at 15 and it made his already beta-ass unfuckable. Unfortunately he's also the type to look awful with a balding head. Have you tried going bald? How does it look?

I think the best option for balding men is to use some kind of false hair before it gets too bad. That way you can find a girl to fall inlove with so she won't care if you're nearly bald because she loves ya. My bf will probably start balding but I love him so it doesn't matter.

Just go full bald. It looks so much better than thinning hair. Plus thinning hair will only make you look older, even if it's just a genetic thing. Shave it off. Embrace the smooth head. Some girls don't give a shit about whether a man has hair or not, and some like the bald look too. Good luck.

and as far as dudes not being welcome, just don't draw attention to it, because no1curr. Then you'll be fine.

Try to shave it of, 6mm at first, then shorter if it goes well and you feel confident enough. At worst, it grows fast at this length so it doesn't matter much. trim your eyebrows too if you don't wan't to look like Krillin, and/or grow a beard if you can. I wouldn't go full baldo tho, unless you look like shit even with a 3mm buzz cut.

It's pretty ugly, esp. when it happens to guys only in their 20s

Best thing you can do is just shave your head completely. Sorry dude

I dont know if they look natural irl, but consider getting those hair stubble tattoos?

It may be best to shave it all off at this point and focus on keeping your body in shape. If your patches are as large as you say, hair transplant probably won't work out for you. Use that leftover shampoo money to invest in skincare or your wardrobe. Almost every female friend I know prefers a man to closely crop or shave their head rather than grasp at the last few standing hairs on his baby orangutan head.

No. 192314

gna be honest with you man, it looks really bad. but just shave yr head, having a shaved head is much better than having weird bald hair. Also since you're so young, most people will probably just assume you did it as a style choice rather than out of necessity.
if you are attractive other than having a shaved head then some girls won't mind. You know, there are weird girls who very much prefer bald guys.
Also get out males reeeeeeeeee

No. 192316

Shave that shit off. You can be attractive and bald, you can't be attractive balding.

As everyone has said before–cut your losses, quite literally.

You know who's pretty hot? Bruce Willis. In your mind's eye do you see him with hair? Probably not. Gain some muscle mass, dress nice, well-kempt stubble, shaved head. My dad always said that you should shave it the moment you notice it's receding, because little by little people will remember you as "shaved head guy" and not "bad hairline guy." People will forget what you looked like with hair, just like Bruce Willis.

No. 192325

>>192318
Hell yeah, this. Bruce is hot as fuck, same goes for diesel (even though he's kind of a bimbo) and the rock. Shave it breh. Or get a decent hair transplant, but i bet that's hard to come by and also expensive.

No. 192327

I'm extremely attracted to bald dudes. It's always a plus for me when considering someone's level of attractiveness.

No. 192332

Shave it off. But be sure to go to the gym and get buff or else you'll look like a school shooter/pedo

And this is why the
>muh men age like wine
meme is bullshit.

I'm sorry for your hairloss, cueball. Have you tried Rogaine? How you'll look depends on your face, and (in part) body too. Try it out, if it doesn't work start saving up for a hair transplant and get on Rogaine. Do some exercise, fix your diet, it won't do much but it'll help you feel better.

yeah but men's skin does age better. i mean it's thicker and all. i don't like it either

Good skin won't help you if you're balding, have hair growing out of your ears and are nursing a beer gut.

I do personally think men age like wine though. As long as he's not old enough to be my dad, then I see no problem with it. And as other anons have mentioned, as long as you're not ridiculously thin (or obese) you will probably look okay, if not better, without hair. Shave it off, lots of girls who aren't obsessed with cute azn boys will find you attractive as a bald guy.

Extra collagen can only do so much when men as a whole smoke, drink, go out in the sun, neglect to wear sunscreen and lack a skincare regime at a significantly higher rate than women.

It's just that people don't value the same things in women and men. If a man has rough skin he's 'rugged', or people just ignore it easily in favour of his other features, but if a woman has anything but perfect baby soft skin she's a hag.

No. 192416

I feel super sorry for dudes who are balding. I've heard it's due to a lack of zinc in one's system, and that taking six weekly courses of zinc can help stall symptoms? Otherwise Rogaine gel. But I'm not sure I'm guessing it's a genetic think that can't be 100% prevented.

I'd recommend just shaving your head. That's how you go bald gracefully, you just shave it. Receding hairlines and bald spots aren't generally attractive to women because it is a glaring sign of a genetic defect (that sounds harsh, but it's the same reason men aren't generally attracted to fat chicks, for example. Less signs of genetic idealness). It's not personal, it's not a conscious decision, it's just instinctive. Reptile brain shit.

Shaving it clean will remove that stigma and block out that reaction. You'll look cuter, and there's something about the whole shaved head thing that excludes confidence. Like you're confident enough to shave your head, and everyone can see that. You'll feel better once it's not something you have to be anxious about, too.

Give me a dude with a bald head and a little bit of facial hair any day of the week, like fuck yes. Bald dudes are cute af.

Just shave it my man, you'll feel way better. Dudes losing their hair might not be attractive, but you know what's infinitely uglier? Dudes who are in denial about it. Dudes who go to extreme lengths to fix it, getting hair plugs and transplants, and hairline tattoos. Makes you look beta, weak, self endulgant, insecure and like a massive cuck. That shit is sad. But a shaved head? That says confidence.

You'll be okay, dude.

Zinc thing is true, I started to lose shitloads of hair two years ago and gone to doctor, comes up my zinc and iron levels were fucked up because of thyroids. I started treatment and my hair is getting how it was like before(well hairline is receding a bit but it's just an age thing) also made me lose fuck ton of weight.

Shaving isn't a bad option. I can understand why some people would want to hang onto their hair as long as they can but it will look so much better to get rid of it.

Apparently this is a thing too but unless you constantly put your hair up it will look terrible.

>glaring sign of a genetic defect, like being fat

Lol, but I'm sure when you hear fatties blaming genetics you flip small tits over it. Or these aren't actually comparable, which they're not.

Damn, poor guy. The hair he does have looks super healthy and nice so I imagine that helps the illusion.

No. 192456

I think it depends on your face. Some people look fine without hair.

Personally, I don't see the issue with holding on to your hair as long as you can either. It doesn't look bad.

Also, since OP is a male and I think we have a few more maleanons here: should I tell my bf to take zinc to help prevent further balding? His hair is thinning out at the top. I know it bothers him, but I feel like if I bring it up he might think it bothers me, which it really doesn't.

Shave it off and make it work for you OP. And you don't have to be Bruce Willis hot like the other anons say. Here is Patrick Stewart before he embraced the bald hair. We can all agree he looks so much better without hair. Just be confident

Sage because dead thread, but nah I don't particularly care what fatties blame their fatness on, their fatness is their problem not mine. What I meant is that fat people are not attractive because they are unhealthy, and don't have good genetic material as a potential mother/father to your children. Same goes for baldys, their's is inarguably entirely genetic, whereas fatties are unhealthy and less likely to be fertile or produce healthy/ideal children. Duh.

Anyway RIP thread hope you find a solution to your problem, OP.

OP, just shave your head and save yourself the trouble.

eh. i started losing my hair at 16. my dad still has a full head of hair and pretty much everyone in my family who has gone bald started after the age of 40, except me. probably environmental too

anyways, i don't really give a fuck about all that shit i'm straight up wearing a wig, hair system whatever the fuck and i'm super open about it cause fuck the stigma

No. 245745

Balding is perfectly normal for men and toupets and hairplugs usually look ridiculous.
Men should just leave it like that and when it's getting too bad, go for a fully shaved head (often looks nice in combination with a full beard)
When my friend started balding, he told me he'd shave it all off and I really didn't want him too. Then he did and he was right, it looked 100 times better.

For women bald usually looks really ugly (in my opinion), I'd probably wear a wig if I'd start balding.

I know a girl who's balding at only 18 yrs old, it looks terrible and she tries her best to hide it but every time she puts her head down a little or put her hair up every single bald spot becomes extremely obvious, I feel really bad for her but I wouldn't dare to advise her to get a wig.

My grandpa has a "crowning" bald pattern (pic related) and it looks really good on him. It gives him a very Julius Caesar, dignified emperor look. It does help that he is a handsome man and he has very healthy bright white hair. I don't think a very young man could pull of the look, thought, it's probably better for them to just shave.
