I know freelancing has long been consoomer-fied ever since fiverr but it feels extra bleak to have animu consoomerism tacked on top of it and treated as some "quick and easy way to get art right in your doorstep teehee!"
it reminds me of a longtime doujin artist Ive followed who quit making comics because it wasn't as profitable as skeb and now makes waifu coomslop art to get by, going through the pages of her pixiv is so bleak

I know this is schizo whining but I don't know how to feel about bluesky. I don't often have a lot of luck with algorithms since I rarely do fanart or FOTM, or maybe it just doesn't like my art, but I have the biggest following on bluesky by far. The whole platform seems like a nothingburger with numbers inflated by the election but now I can't exactly leave. I really should've just bit the bullet and done short form content. I'm willing to bet not being able to keep up with algorithms and trends is a sign of autism or something, I'm just not built for digital marketing and I'm not even that old

Bluesky doesn't rely on a centralized algorithm to circulate content. As long as you tag your posts accordingly people should be able to find your content no matter how much time that passed and can search your account by that tag if they only want to see content of x media accordingly. I see bluesky as a combination of Twitter and tumblr so hopefully it kicks off well after the mass xitter exodus since it's system is very beneficial for fandom posting and archiving
