>>2565676Someone wanted this from the requests thread, I hope the image is OK!
I have to do a lot of writing for my current job. I love it but sometimes it's so hard to start or get back into a piece that is half finished. Realised watching long braindead YT videos on split screen is a great way to get into the zone kek although it seems unintuitive. Think it means I'm not constantly overthinking my choice of words and have more to work with when I edit later.
I did 1k words today with Caleb Hammer shouting quietly in the background, I'm about to churn out some more to the Lottie Moss podcast. Wishing heights of productivity for all anons!!

>>2565683It might be helpful for you to have a low but existent baseline expectation for a 'good day' and try to set up a streak where you meet it consecutively. Like a points system - so maybe you decide it's 5 points per day to feel comfy/in control, designate a value to each task as you get it, and earn points with a mixture of life admin/hygiene, work/school tasks, hobbies etc. There are streak counter phone widgets to track this in a visual way if you're into that. The basic point is that you're not beating yourself up all the time but you are consistently getting the basics done, not falling behind, and going to bed happy with yourself - meaning self-confidence and hopefully motivation will rise. You could even start at one task a day and slowly build it up as you get used to it
>overwhelmRandomise the tasks on your to do list, that way you only get one to do at a time so it feels more manageable than the normal load. Keep these lists short and mix in things you actually want to do.
>motivationWhat do you normally spend the day doing and what motivates you to do it? If you like video games you can gamify basically any task with a DIY spreadsheet or an app like Forest/Habitica. If it's TV or doomscrolling you can try timing yourself and enjoying 15 mins of no brains head empty for every half hour working, or vice versa.
>energyDepends on which illnesses you have. A little bit of daily movement (within your safe range - there are adaptable exercises on YT you can do from a bed or chair) will have a positive knock-on effect. So will healthy food if that's within your means

>>2565676Nta who requested the thread but I am excited we have one like this now!!
I didn’t get as much done today as I really wanted, partly because I managed to hurt my wrist so working on the computer for long periods of time was difficult. I have a meeting on Wednesday to go over progress on the project but ideally I want to get my part done before then. I messed up my sleep schedule but I think I fixed it today thankfully, so I am counting that as my main success. Hopefully a night of rest will let my wrist heal enough I can get back at it tomorrow.

good thread idea nona!! a pattern i noticed in my life is when i try to add something new into my daily schedule, i'm super active with it when i first start and then struggle to do it a later on. i used to spend 30-40 minutes working out but now only do some squats and dumbells at random intervals. when i started learning gamedev i spent a short amount of time on the first tutorial i looked up but i can't seem to get myself to keep going. i also remember drawing much more as a teenager but now i can't seem to get myself to focus on a piece for a good amount of time and that's probably partially due to the feeling of not being good enough at art kek. these are just a few examples but there's so much more i can think of. it makes me feel bad because i remember wanting to make "there are better things to worry about" a philosophy in my life but i can't seem to get myself to do anything about that.

Would a kind nonnie give me some encouraging words to help motivate me do something enjoyable? I've been struggling with anhedonia for a long time and I haven't been induldging in hobbies because I just can't bring myself to start. I want to play Animal Crossing today, and have kept thinking of it for months but still haven't felt motivated to open the game, I know it'll make me happy but I'm worried it won't work and I'll feel sadder. Thank you in advance!

>>2568226Samefag, I typed this and broke my procrastination streak with 500 words! (It's so nice to think of that as breaking a streak).
Today
>English reading 1h>Commonplacing 1h>Novel - try for 2k overallSo far I've showered and already read for 30m
No. 2569623
>>2568635Update! I wrote over 2k today, when you factor in the 500w spurt in the early hours it means I spent 3.5h on the novel. I also spent 2h taking critical book notes and am set to go to bed at a reasonable time. Very happy and proud of myself, back on track!
Have to work my conventional job tomorrow and so done with it but it's very quiet and there'll be some downtime in which I can write a bit more.

Could nonnies give me a bit of motivation to take my Duolingo lessons seriously? I've kept up my "streak" by essentially cheating and repeating the same easy lesson I've already gone through which I guess isn't terrible since I'm still retaining info but I don't want this. I want to expand my Japanese enough to have some basic understanding, I'm using the app as a starter before moving onto other learning methods. The competitiveness of Duolingo usually helps me but this time around I'm being lazy and haven't progressed at all.

>>2585448You got this nonna! Think about how good it will feel when you are fluent in Japanese! And be proud of how far you have come.
I just made a virtual sticker sheet for my website today! It links to my Google sheet, so as I update the sheet, my website will dynamically update the stickers.
I haven't seen people create something like this before (linking their google sheets tracker to a website) so I felt excited to share it. Feel free to implement this idea on your own sites too.
I found sheets to be cheaper (free) than using a server or database.

Does anyone know any apps that are good for “gamifying” tasks? My adhd is pretty bad lately and
>number go upis a very dopaminergic prospect to me. I especially like ones with exp / cash systems. I tried one time a “skyrim quest log” app and it worked great, but it was buggy at times. I go to check and they’re all paywalled for subscriptions… and getting notion to work with what I want to do is just all over the place. I’m very tempted to just learn to code and/or do what
>>2586041 did and ask cgpt to make it for me.
