New Taylor R. Thread because person in the jvlogger thread is to stupid/lazy to make one themselves.
Elbow-san's name revealed. Taylor remains boring and not really worth a thread of her own. Recently took copy-cat pics of herself in Kardashian style. No one liked it. People with hate boners still whining about cheek fillers (which no one cares about)
That's all the "milk" from her recently.

The "I'm intelligent" and "I've got things to teach you" bit made me laugh. While I can enjoy her vlogs for their relaxed, carefree vibe, intelligence isn't one of her assets. Remember when she tried to get philosophical after going to a Yayoi Kusuma exposition? It was like a balloon slowly deflating. Just empty air. Her "deep conversations" always come off as empty. She stays on the surface of things and can't seem to go deeper. She isn't a critical thinker either, she just gobbles up what she reads and see.
Granted, she isn't the dumbest around, but I would definitely not try to brand myself as intelligent if I was her.

Perhaps they both started liking the same fashion at the same time unaware of one another, but once Kota's popularity took off and went national .. maybe thats when Taylor decided to copy. Not in a malicious way like Kaka liked to imply though. Taylor's always seemed to be a sponge absorbing and copying whatever is trending at the time ( Kardashian's, Kota ect )
I kinda miss her old fashion even if childish looking. As of lately it just looks like she is wearing the same few tops and I swear to fucking go the same bloody jeans every day… Its just not very eye catching or flattering for someone with her body shape. ( flat all around )
No. 379938
>>379925Well It's a candid, basically a paparazzi shot. She really doesn't look anything like Kaka. Like I said, all Taylor had to do was look in a gyaru fashion magazine or even Vivi to find that look. Sorry but it really bugs that Koots gets credit for a look that was popular among gals when she was still doing shitty scene make-up. Not saying Tay is original (she's absolutely not) but Koots isn't either.
Yeah I'm not a fan of Tay's current look at all. I wish she was more creative. Personally I'd love to see her do a kind of modern mod look. It would be girly which suits her, but also grown up enough to be sophisticated. Or even Larme style might work for her.

>>379938Regardless there still was a point where it felt like there was some copying. I never said the style was Kota's, but Taylor sure af went hard on it once Kota's popularity peaked. Then there was the weird video styles she started cranking out with her stiff as a board on a bed with a high pitch voice wit pink bed sheets.
People didn't start assuming she was copying until she cut her hair(straight bangs),moved to Japan, made stiff videos in a small apartment, high pitch voice, After effects, went full out dolly. Everything Kota does..
No. 380226
>>380113Oh yes, the copying was really blatent and obvious: some of it was creepy as hell. Poses, hairstyles. She did a copy of Kota's banner pic (the one where Kota shooped off her ears). There was a period of time where she was trying to show that she was better than Dakota.
I even suspect she started her PULL thread (on the oldest version of PULl, she was in the "pretty girls" section). The initial post was about this amazing dolly girl who was just like Dakota but ~nice~.
Given elbow-san's industry, he may have encouraged her to copy Kota. He certainly knows about marketing young women to a waiting audience.
No. 380352
>>380226No, Tom wouldn't encourage her to copy Kota, and matter of fact encouraged her to make dance videos and leave the house unlike Kota. As a business man he's smart enough to know not to copy someone else's image and ideas down to a T.
Taylor being as uncreative and boring as she is just copies who ever is trending and most popular. Like her blatantly copying Kota, then Casey, Buzzfeed and many others. She's a leech that depends on others ideas, and gets away with it only because people think she's pretty.

Anyone else notice that Tom owns beauty exchange and basically gave her the bulk of her exposure? I went all the way back to when she first moved to hong kong and there Taylor is, in a massively popular BE article promoting her. Seems more likely that's the reason she doesn't want people knowing exactly who her bf is since he helped her career so much it doesn't fit with her "work hard for your dreams" persona when you're dating someone with so much social media influence before you made it yourself. Also all those events she gets "invited to" personally as a part of her modelling career are just basically business dinners she's attending along side Tom… so clearly she's purposely bending the truth in her favor to look more hard working and successful than she really is and to promote her "brand" This could be old news though i just couldn't find the energy to read the entire thread LOL(read the rules & usage info)

>>663071I dislike Taylor a lot, but I think she had some muscle tone. I tried her (ripped-off from some ballet fitness youtuber) workouts from 2015-2016. They require a certain amount of muscle strength. I'm sure she filmed those in segments so she could stop & rest & look kawaii, but she had the strength to do them.
I do not think you can lose all your muscle and "butt" (if she really built muscle over months) in a week or two. That's ridiculous.
If you think her waistline is ugly, I wonder what you think of practically every other person on earth. She's got a straighter body type, that's all. You won't see this shape )( because her hips are fairly narrow. There's not much she can do about that.
Her disordered perception of her body and food - and her marketing of this perception as normal - is what makes my blood boil. She's fake & is obsessed with going viral. But her body is fine, or it would be, if she stopped trying to make it into something it isn't. (That includes her restriction diet and the butt obsession.)
But again, she's an incredibly pampered woman who doesn't have to worry about paying bills or having a roof over her head. It's very deceptive that she tries to come across as normal while having almost no job. And if Youtube is her job, then where are her videos?

Milking something as average as appendix removal for longer than a week, while it seems like something she would do, doesn't seem like that's the issue. And they don't do exploratory surgery like that.

tbh I think she's just being a giant piss baby and it probably was something simple that she's now milking it. Small conspiracy theory but I think she's getting married this week.
In her "What Happened" video she mentioned that she felt SUPER IN LOVE DESU with Elbow-san because he sat in her hospital room all day, and that she wanted to elope and have his babies right away. On the other hand, I'm having a hard time imagining Tom being okay with that. Ethnic Chinese families tend to be huge and Asian weddings tend to have hundreds of guests, especially for a prominent businessman he would be expected to attend his associates' weddings and then invite them to his.
Maybe they'll do a small Western style service in Canada followed by a wedding banquet in Hong Kong? I've seen that pattern for lots of friends in cross-cultural marriages. Even Jay Chou did something similar i think

There are men that like spoiling their gf/wife. Especially in Chinese cultures, it's a point of pride that you make enough money that your wife doesn't have to work. Being able to have a beautiful white wife, who is much younger, and respectful and interested in the culture, that doesn't have to work a "real job" is like living the dream of success for some Asian men.

Maybe that’s why they marry them (a beautiful white woman, much younger, and doesn’t have to work), because i think many Asian women wants to be independent and work hard on their own instead of just looking pretty, lazy and being spoiled easily like them. LOL

What made me annoyed - aside of her behavior - was her talking about the shelter that she didn't bother to visit for last few months, and when they needed the help after typhoon she didn't even go there to help them out. I know her fans will donate some money, and that's great, but she has all the time and money and the world to actually help them out, yet she prefers to sit at home, watch netflix or youtube and ask others for help. >connects her with agencies and gigs through his company to keep her busy and even pays for a manager to escort her around so she never has to learn foreign languagesWhat agencies? She's not signed at all now and when she was it was long before she even met Tom. Satoru was her Japanese agency from the beginning (from her earliest trips to Japan). While she was there, it was her booker at Satoru who escorted her and that made sense with what she was doing. Her being at BeautyExchange events is mutually beneficial because whether you like her or not she a relatively popular youtuber (especially for her market).
>pays for her beauty upkeep on top of rentRent for the home they live in together.
What beauty upkeep? Before this year she was only coloring her hair 2-3 times a year. She wears mostly middle tier makeup, and she doesn't go to the aesthetician for cool-sculpting or anything. And since I don't believe she had anything more invasive than fillers, that's not much of an expense either.
>will throw a lot of cash at whatever she needs to follow viral trends. Most of her viral videos have been DIYs. A sugar-baby would have actually gotten real Vetements or Saint Laurent.
And that's the point I'm trying to make. I don't think what he does for her is beyond what a person of means would normally do for their partner who they support and love.
Newsflash: rich people have relationships. Attractive people have relationships. Sometimes they have them with each other. She would hardly be the first model to choose someone who wasn't conventionally attractive but treated her like she hung the moon. And judging by his actions, it would seem that he does. He seems very slow when responding to her and his sentences are short and simple.
I’m not a native English speaker, neither is my husband, we do not speak each other languages so we have to speak English to each other and I don’t want it to sound like bragging but our spoken English is much better. I wouldn’t be able to be with someone I cannot communicate normally - doesn’t matter in what language, I just wouldn’t be able to stand the way Tom speaks.
As for Taylor learning Cantonese - forget about it. She couldn’t learn Japanese which is much easier (even for speaking only), she lived for 4 years before in HK and even with already being with Tom she didn’t bother to learn.
Like even in recent videos she asked him at the airport how you pronounce Toronto in Cantonese - she should know this by now.

About Tay learning Cantonese, I'm familiar with Hong Kong and my grandparents speak Canto so I'll try to give some sociolinguistic insight.
First of all, English is an official language of Hong Kong, and due to the colonial history, it's considered the most prestigious language. That's why I said well-to-do old money family kids would speak proper English. This is particularly true for someone around Elbow's age because HK was still a British territory when he was a schoolkid. The British colonizers, even if they lived in Hong Kong for years, wouldn't bother themselves with learning Cantonese as they saw it "beneath" them. There are a very few exceptions – for instance, missionaries tend to learn the language because it helps them reach more people, and I even met a white girl who was born and raised in HK and spoke Cantonese (as well as English) natively because her father was a missionary that preached in Cantonese. But that is the 1% of white people in Hong Kong, even now expats from rich Western countries like UK and Canada and from poorer countries like India and Philippines alike generally don't learn more than rudimentary Cantonese. Taylor is a wealthy woman who would mostly associate with people who can speak English and thus doesn't have much need to learn Cantonese.
On top of that, HK was handed over to China on 1997, and with that a lot of schools started focusing on teaching Mandarin Chinese (Beijing dialect) even over English. There are a TON of tensions because Hong Kong people don't really like mainland people and thus don't like Mandarin, but at the government level there is a big push for Mandarin.
In Canton (Guangdong) province in China where Cantonese originates, Cantonese was always both the most widely spoken language and also always viewed as inferior to Mandarin or as not a "proper" language again due to the reason that the main government spoke Mandarin.
A lot of immigrants from Hong Kong and Canton to Canada and the USA don't teach their children Cantonese because they view it as an "informal, less prestigious" language vis-a-vis English.
There are people pushing for standardization of Cantonese and taking pride in Cantonese, but these tend to be politically oriented people who don't like the Chinese government removing their freedoms and view themselves as separate from China. Elbow is a businessman who probably does a decent amount of business in China so I doubt he would make waves like that.
That said, I do think it would be good for Taylor to learn Cantonese. From Elbow's accent, we can obviously see Cantonese is his native language and the one he's most comfortable speaking. Taylor's videos usually have Chinese subtitles and I imagine either Elbow writes them himself or requests that they be added so other Chinese people can follow along with the videos. His websites are in Chinese and his fellow contacts are mostly Hong Kong people. Speaking Canto would definitely help bring Taylor closer to both Elbow and also to being integrated in Hong Kong society. I can imagine at many of the modeling and business events, everyone around her chattering away in Cantonese while she stands around awkwardly…
It's just an uphill battle for her to learn Cantonese. Everyone will tell her "Why learn Canto? English is better!". I bet even if she speaks a few words of Canto to people, they will see she's white and switch to English to accommodate her.
By the way, it's an incredibly challenging language to learn, with the traditional character set, the 8 tones, and the lack of good learning materials when contrasted with Mandarin.

He didn't want to do it. He didn't seem embarrassed at all. And newsflash, Taylor isn't some kind of dirty secret for him. She already knows his friends and family. She's been to his friends weddings and baby showers. She's been to his work parties. She spends holidays with his family. They seem to be fully engaged in each other's lives.

MenClub Christmas Goddesses* Special Issue~ Taylor R
Text: MenClub Editor Ah-K
Photos / video : Jou Fung / Taylor
The Christmas goddess special issue of MenClub is here! First up is the sweet Canadian gal, Taylor R!
Taylor R, who comes from Canada, looks exactly like a real princess. She's different from many Western chicks in that she has a Japanese flair. As such, she's become a big-name model in Hong Kong. Although Hong Kong is where Taylor found fame and success, she still makes sure to go back to Canada to celebrate the Christmas holiday every year.
"I am studying in Hong Kong, but Canada is full of interesting stuff. It snows over there, and I also really like catching up with my family and friends."
This year is no exception for Taylor: "I am going to go home and have Christmas dinner with my family. My grandma makes the best turkey in the world! I really miss my family, I can't wait to see them."
Unlike in Hong Kong, Christmas is not commercialized in Canada. Taylor said Christmas was an unforgettable part of her childhood.
"I used to believe in Santa Claus back then. When I saw all the trees that 'Santa' left under the tree, I felt so happy. If I become a mother one day, I'd like to let my children enjoy that experience too."
Taylor seems to receive a lot of gifts from her fans, so she stated frankly: "To be honest, I don't want to receive Christmas gifts anymore. I already have too much stuff!"

>>736598for a Chinese family it is REALLY weird that his parents (especially mom) NEVER seem to show up in their lives. We've seen the sister in France but not the mom or dad.
We also know that Tom sold street food with his mom at a stall in a subway station in high school (and his mom didn't own the stall). Maybe the dad is either dead or the parents divorced. But where the fuck is Tom's mom? Chinese MILs are nosy af … they think their sons shit out rainbows and diamonds.
This wedding is suspicious as hell. The video where Taylor talks more about the elopement she sounds like she's sad and stressed but trying to pretend she's cool with it and happy for the sake of the camera/her fans. Tom doesn't sound like he has any emotion at all.
Something is "off" here :\ Taylor is such a girly girl, loves attention, loves trying food and outfits, planning things… Elopement is cool for some women but she 1000% seems like the kind of girl who would want a fairytale wedding. I hope I'm wrong but this seems very sad to me. :(
No. 736619
>>736604Honestly, she's probably only sour that she didn't get some fancy wedding. They probably eloped because her visa was soon to expire and seemed convenient. This whole news of him basically owning a site with softcore porn of teens, and Taylor knowing this and dating/working for him anyways comes off sketchy. Maybe her good girl and hard work crap is really just her projecting. Like how Onion has to reinforce how brutally honest he is, so he states it every chance he gets just like she constantly states how "good" and "hard-working" she is. I find only liars have to repeat themselves as much as they do.
Knowing Taylor though, they're probably stilling going to have a ceremony but just hold off till spring.

Essentially:
Single Doll-like Model Back on the Market
The very pretty doll-like model Taylor R, like Chrissie Chau (fellow model), has recently reverted back to being single and "back on the market." She broke up with her boyfriend (who works in the financial sector) of 4 years several months ago. Don't think that a model's love life is very exciting or that their Valentine's day is going to be extra romantic though. Taylor, who has been in 2 relationships, just enjoys cooking at home with her boyfriend (her specialty is seafood spaghetti) and watching movies.
She isn't worried about being lonely this Valentine's day with no boyfriend and plans on hanging out with her female friends. >>736685>>736779Not really. If you've ever planned a wedding you would understand better. I'm at the age where I am planning a wedding and everyone else around me is either also planning or had a wedding in the past couple years.
Literally EVERYONE goes through a phase where they consider eloping. Weddings seem overwhelming to plan at first.
But I only know like one or two couples who actually did go ahead and elope (both in Hawaii, and one doesn't really count because the bride grew up in Hawaii and they had a big reception in California afterwards).
People might decide to scale up or down the style of the wedding, but ultimately most couples realize that a wedding really symbolizes the biggest day of their lives and a chance to throw a party for all their family and friends. I've been to all manner of weddings from a $100k affair in NYC straight out of Bride Wars, to a $1k simple potluck in a public park where the bride made her own dress and her sister baked the cake type of thing. Traditional Catholic Mass hourlong snoozefest to secular 5 minute exchange of vows. Military weddings in full uniform, Southern weddings with country music and bbq, Chinese banquets with like 20 dishes and parental tea ceremony and 3 different dresses for the bride, Halloween wedding with the bride in a black dress… there are a million ways to do a wedding and very very few people actually want to elope. Even those who do elope would generally have their parents there…
A wedding is a huge deal because it basically presents the married couple to the world and shows everyone what kind of couple they are and gives their entire family and friends community a chance to have a sort of emotional fulfillment of understanding that they are a married couple now.
When I first watched the wedding video, I thought they were just doing the registration and then later on they would host a proper wedding. But in her second video she clarifies they don't have any immediate plans to do that.
This is hugely disappointing. Yes, we're all feminists and women don't need a white dress and a big shabang and it's acceptable to elope. But if you're watching Taylor R expecting a woman who doesn't act feminine or traditional then idk wtf to say to you. She's absolutely the kind of woman who would want a big dress and ceremony. Her whole life revolves around making herself pretty and filming herself so the world can see her. She's INCREDIBLY family oriented. She has stated over and over that she appreciates Elbow-san's family values and how he respects her family. This sudden marriage is like a slap in the face to her family I feel; even if they tell her it's okay and she says she is okay with it. Of course they would say they support her and are okay with it because they want to be supportive and loving towards family, but I bet that privately they are pretty damn disappointed. For more traditional, family-oriented people, weddings are as much for the family as for the couple themselves.
That's not even getting into the Chinese side of it. Chinese families are a million times more conservative and traditional than North American ones. Even very liberal free spirited Chinese people who studied abroad etc, their weddings are very traditional. They may privately complain but a HUGE part of Chinese culture is respecting your elders so if your elders tell you to do something, you do it. Many/most Chinese women are fully independent career women but for their wedding they will pour tea for their new in-laws (sign of obedience to the husband's parents) because that's just How It Is Done. Like with white people parents they will also view the wedding as a big family reunion, and often also they will invite all their business contacts. Many Chinese people complain that they don't know half the people at their own wedding because their parents wanted to make sure all
their (the parents') friends are invited. Again the wedding is not just about the couple celebrating their love, but it is about presenting themselves as a couple to the family and the entire community.
In Chinese culture, women marry "into" the husband's family. So sometimes Chinese women marry white guys and get away with there not being a lot of Chinese elements or all the extended family and business contacts. But for Taylor. She is a woman. She has to show her loyalty to Tom's family. In Chinese culture she is now a part of his family. When she dies she will be buried with his family (traditionally Chinese have family tombs, not individual grave stones like in America). On Tomb-sweeping day she should go to worship his ancestors.
Even if Tom isn't super duper traditional, these elements probably play a role to some extent. Not doing them at all would be like an American couple not doing Thanksgiving or Christmas at all. Again not unheard of, but if someone told you they had 0 plans for Thanksgiving, you'd think it kinda suspect right? (Not in a "I can't afford the flight home" way, in a "I don't have a single member of my entire extended family I'd spend the holiday with" way). It's just suspicious.
I can't figure out quite what's going on here, but it's definitely not as simple as "Oh we just decided to elope". There's some bigger issue going on. Chinese people don't "just elope". Some white people may just elope, but not people with Taylor's personality and interests and family relationships/values.
We could speculate wildly on what, but I certainly don't have any receipts on anything. Instinctively I could imagine :
–His parents had a nasty divorce. This would explain zero contact with one side of the family, as traditionally when Chinese parents divorce the custody goes 100% to one of the parents and the other half of the family never sees them again– but then where is the half of the family Tom WAS raised by? He mentions a mom so where is his mom?
–Money issues. Heis mom is poor and he's baller but we never hear about him giving money to his mom which is another huge negative in Chinese culture. I can't really overstate how horrific it would be in Chinese culture for a first/only/oldest son to leave his mom in poverty. Or maybe he gave her a bunch of money and she mismanaged it?
–The mom died recently. This one is a good theory since if she did die, they would have to get married within 100 days according to Chinese culture, or else wait 3 years. And Taylor mentioned that they wanted to get married in less than 3 months. However, this is still deeply unsatisfying in that we never see Taylor interact with Tom's mom, or even mention her. Maybe she doesn't want to be on camera, sure, but Taylor could mention her if the two had a relationship ("My future MIL taught me how to make this soup"; "Elbow-san and I just got back from visiting his mom").
–The mom's family refuses to accept Taylor. I find this extremely plausible. The only time we see Taylor with family is at Tom's sister's house and his sister also married a white French guy so the sister probably doesn't mind. But maybe the mom is very traditional – she might have even had a Chinese woman lined up for Tom. If Taylor started out as Tom's escort/sugar baby before evolving into genuine love, I could imagine his mom being very disappointed. "Those loose Western women have no morals, can't cook proper Chinese food for my son, will not obey me as a dutiful daughter in law, will not ensure our family's heritage and traditions are properly followed…" etc. This kind of stereotypical thinking is common among older Chinese women – they don't care if their daughter marries a white guy because "daughters marry out anyway", but the son marrying a white girl is their worst nightmare because they want a Chinese daughter in law they can boss around. (Most Chinese women won't let themselves be bossed around these days anyway, but in their imagination white women are even more willful).
The part that doesn't make sense with this is that a girl like Taylor should have been able to win over Tom's mother by now. Taylor isn't a loud arrogant white woman. She's very much so the kind of ideal woman that a Chinese mother-in-law would want: Slim and pretty, mild mannered, cares more about family and home than about own career ambitions (won't outshine her son), she's clearly the more submissive one in the relationship with Tom (she mentioned that he makes all the big decisions, all the first moves, and she mostly manages daily household matters like what groceries to buy which is what a traditional Chinese wife is expected to do), she very much so wants children which is the #1 thing Chinese mothers hope for is grandchildren. It's been years. If the issue is that Tom's mother won't accept Taylor, then why? Furthermore, how would Tom be okay disobeying his mother if it's causing that much of a rift in the family?
If the above sounds way too old fashioned to you, you don't know Chinese culture well enough. This stuff sticks incredibly hard. I know families who've been in the United States for multiple generations and still they adhere to many elements of this culture (for instance, finding the idea of putting grandparents in a nursing home absolutely abhorrent). I know people whose bio parents were horribly abusive and irresponsible to the point that were basically raised by grandparents from childhood, but as adults they still fork over 1/3 of their paycheck to their absentee bio parents because "We are Chinese and we show respect to our elders". I literally have never heard of a Chinese couple eloping. It's kinda hard to overstate how shocking it would be.

>>742086Whatever one thinks of Dakota, this is a pretty weird thing to say.
Sage for personal opinion:
I am occasionally envious of two things Taylor has:
- a loving family
- money
That's it. She has shown herself pretty deficient in character and personality. Her desperation to be liked and go viral is unhealthy. Her vapid lifestyle, swinging from trend to trend, is pretty undesirable as well. She is the most basic of basic women: Starbucks, fake gluten allergy, obsessed with dieting, loves Kardashians, took 3 weeks to read Girlboss. She grew up in a bilingual country and never learned French. She lived in Japan and HK and never learned either language. She is superficial. And add to that the Menclub stuff - it's not a picture of a stable woman.
Dakota has a ton of flaws. But I give her credit for truly immersing herself in Japanese. She may speak with rude forms, but she can speak. It shows a certain intelligence and business savvy. Now, she needs to apply that to her job (modeling/talent/whatever), because gaining weight and dressing horribly and lying and photoshopping and DCMAing everything is terrible for business. But maybe she'll ultimately apply her intelligence to something else. I guess we'll see. We don't have proof that Dakota has a sugar source (though it is likely); no matter what Taylor says, it is clear Tom Moneybags is footing all the bills.
I personally don't like or want to be like either of these women, but just because Taylor looks somewhat better physically and lives a luxurious lifestyle - I would not say that is the $100,000 version of Dakota.
Dakota could get back in the game by writing a tell-all book.about her crazy enmeshed family and what it was like growing up in that toxic waste dump. I might actually buy it.

Like how she hadn't heard of "something borrowed, something blue" until her wedding day, or how she noted that fashion often moves in cycles and was amazed by her own profundity kek

>>742360Taylor may not be doing much now and certainly is living a pretty indolent lifestyle, but at least for the first 7 or so years of her career she hustled and worked a lot. You can tell by how full her old modeling portfolio was. And it was just working model stuff. Lots of campaigns, editorial, catalogue. At 23 (same age as Kota now) she was modeling full time during the day and studying nutrition at night. What is Kota doing now exactly other than scamming freebies out of acquaintances. Also Taylor worked at a shitty minimum wage hostessing job at a crappy restaurant as a teenager. Call me when Kota is ever humble enough to do something like that.
No question, Taylor is legitimately terrible at language. It's obvious even in her native English. Cantonese is a lot harder to learn than Japanese as well. And unlike Kota, Taylor isn't confident in herself which makes putting yourself out there much more difficult. Dakota otoh was 16 when she came to Japan an age when it's generally a lot easier to learn learn a second language. This explains why her pronunciation is good basically, that and having good ear. Kota also thought that she was hot shit and talked like it. Confidence makes it a lot easier to learn and use a language. Most importantly, she was living with a Japanese guy which was pretty evident from the way she spoke. Finally, it took her 3 years to become proficient enough to be able to be on Japanese television. Taylor didn't live with a native speaker, and was 10 years older.
And if you want to talk about deficient character, Dakota and her family bullied other foreign models, most likely paid for her to go viral, and even now acts like a complete cunt when she thinks that she can get away with it. Plus, Dakota lied about having a deadly form of cancer less than a year ago in order to hide having a cosmetic procedure done. Which is still beyond the pale for me.

I moved to a foreign country as an adult, didn't live with a native speaker, and I could speak the language decently within a year. After two years, I was much better, and after the third year, I would call myself conversationally/everyday fluent. There were no topics I couldn't discuss at that point - the question was only how detailed. And no, I never took a class. Native speakers in my environment corrected me.
Taylor could learn a language if she wanted to try. But she preferred to pretend.

>>742474Yeah I don't buy that Taylor isn't confident. It's part of her brand to appeal to younger girls who watch the videos, but at the same time make them feel insecure and need to buy whatever she's buying or do whatever she's doing.
It takes a lot of balls to dress up in ridiculous outfits for attention (when it wasn't even work), pay someone to record or take pics of posing extra in public, and constantly be overexposed down to the bathroom things.
I'd say Kota has less confidence since we never see her real face or anything real of her bc she knows she looks like shit. She puts tighter controls on what we get to see.
But yes, they're both lazy in different ways. It may be easier to learn languages when younger, but that doesn't mean it's impossible - especially when you have the means and free time to make the conscious choice.

>>743757I don't know anything about cheek fillers. However, I do recognize the odd mouth corners she has. I think she's had a small amount of filler to compensate for the beginning of marionette lines (a problem for people with certain face shapes & bone structure). This type of filler helps lift the mouth corner.
I've had it two times (I'm in my mid-20s - it is a genetic problem). The second time, the woman injected too much. It puffed out just how Taylor's mouth area looked around the time she cut her hair.
just one example:
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bnuci4aHSa6/You can see it in a lot of other videos and pictures. Because the filler dissolves, the puffiness goes away after awhile.
She obviously edits these pictures and smooths that area out more, but you can still see the puff where the filler might be. I used to think all that puffiness around her lower mouth/chin was her acne, but in this case, I think she's had this small amount of filler to lift her mouth corners.
I don't judge her for doing it. I did it because I got tired of people telling me I looked sad or angry.

Anyone who had fillers can recognize how they seem on the face, especially in odd angles because the change is immediate until it settles.
She definitely had a top up before coming to Toronto on the cheeks and around her nasolabial or marionette area. At her age and looking at her family's genetics there's no point in pretending she's natural.

she 100% has cheek fillers.
she probably got them originally to have a 'uber cute kawaii baby face' but now has them as an attempt to reverse the aging process/look younger.
In the pic attached, see how flat her entire under eye/cheek region is? That looks fine when you're young with plump skin but as you age your skin obviously begins to droop. That lack of volume there is a recipe for looking haggard af.

it's not bulimia cheeks, that happens farther down in the face (see Yumi King), and weight gain wouldn't make ONLY her cheeks fatter without affecting her chin or any other parts of her face. You can see in these photos/videos that she still has bony wrists so if she did gain weight it certainly wasn't much, and not enough to affect her face this way.
WHen you've eliminated the other options, what's left must be the truth. She had fillers to try to make her face look more round and childlike, realized she looked stupid, and never did it again. The end.

After Popteen and her year as a TV tarento, whatever she gets now is from the connection she made during that time, especially Popteen. And maybe the yakuza have some control over her talent agency but they have bigger fish to fry than some basic token gaijin.
Tom did not get Taylor jobs. He doesn't have that kind of pull. He has a lot of money from his web platforms but that's not the kind of thing that would get Taylor booked her in fashion. She was also working the most between 2009-2012 way before she even knew Tom. And she worked a lot. Lots of fashion/beauty editorial, campaigns, and catalogue. >>746400So because you are saying that isn't true, everybody has to change their opinions? Who are you? God? At least I have based my opinion on reports who expose the wrong-doings of agencies and the media. There are several media outlets writing about the same stuff that the enteratinment industry of Japan is under the control of the Yakuza. Do you have proofs that this isn't true? Are you really this blinded? The people who are writing about this stuff are journalists who are educated, have studied journalism and did a lot of research on this topic. And then you, a random farmer comes along and says everything is untrue because you said so. Think about it: Kota isn't in her prime anymore. She is chubby and bald and there are hundreds of young and pretty models in Japan right now. So who gets the job for Google? Logically one of the young and pretty models. But that's not the case at all. Big ol' bald Kota gets the job. There is definetely someone helping her out and this person is very powerful. Probably a person with Yakuza connections. And when you think that Kota is a small fish and no Yakuza is actually interested: read the other threads here. There are many gaijins who are modelling, waitressing and whatever but they are in certain circles.
And regarding Taylor. I am not talking about her old self in Hong Kong. She was a successful model on her own right at that time. I am talking about her new self in Japan when she wanted everyone to believe she is a girl boss. Tom did help her out for sure.

>>746443Oh ffs, fine maybe she is using yakuza connections now. I don't know. I just mean that she didn't start that way. Back in the day it was definitely Hiroshi from Bravo pulling every trick he had in order to make her into a star.
If there are yakuza connections she probably made them no early than 2015 when she was working as a geinojin.
>I am talking about her new self in Japan when she wanted everyone to believe she is a girl boss. Tom did help her out for sure.Even with that, he wasn't getting her jobs in fashion. He didn't get her parts in dramas. He doesn't have that kind of influence. He did use his money however to help her make a name for herself online of course and pretty much all of her work in Japan came from that. So in that way he did help her get jobs, I guess. But directly having the kind of connections whoever's backing Kota obviously has, not so much.
In conclusion it's seems:
Taylor has (Tom's) money and media which helped promote her. The fame she achieved helped get her jobs in Japan.
Kota doesn't have money but she does have someone high enough up that basically can hand her things like Fit's (should have been a major stepping stone for her), Babyfang, Rakuten collab, and now a google cm.

>he has a beauty company and some anon here once pointed out that Taylor indeed worked for his company a few timesAbsolutely true. The company is Beauty Exchange and any time that Taylor did any work for them, it was through him. But since she probably didn't get paid for it, I'm guessing they saw it as mutually beneficial. HK based Beauty Exchange was promoted by Japan based Taylor on her social media. Beauty Exchange gave Taylor the illusion of being in demand and busy.

"I thought that Li Yun’s 15-year-old swimsuit photo was caught and stunned. According to Jemima’s 13-year-old swimsuit, the photo was degraded and embarrassing! Is it true that the national conditions are the same, the times are the same, and the people are different?"
Even with bad translation, these comments are creepy. NO one shoud be commenting on how the "body proportion" of 13-year-olds is "pleasing to the eye," or that they were "caught and stunned" by a 15-year-old's swimsuit photo but this 13-year-old looks better.

I'm going to do my best to summarize the situation with Menclub.hk (also known on the web as Menclubhk and simply Menclub).
>>733762 I made this post in disgust at people talking about elbowsan's "self-made" career. As far as I know, Taylor's previous work for Menclub has never been a secret, but it wasn't clear until recently that Tom Lip owned the site.
>>743500 Tom claims Menclub is only 5 years old, but it's actually 6 years old. archive.org crawled the site in 2012. Most of the early hits say "coming soon," but between Oct and Nov 2012, the site went live. Girls were immediately a section of the site.
At this time, Taylor may have already been working for Beauty Exchange, one of Tom's other sites. There's a post on his FB site dated Dec 16, 2012, where he says "BE girls rock" - there's a thumbnail of a now-deleted Taylor video (the Cinderella one) included in the screenshot.
But Tom MIGHT have asked Taylor to work for menclub first, as he introduces her to Menclub on December 4, 2012 (see attached screenshot). The Menclub site is only 2 months old (tops) at this point. She was part of the original promotion for the site, which in turn promoted her social media and website.
On February 14, 2013, Taylor announces to Apple Daily that she is single, and the online magazine prints an article about it. This is promoted on the same day by Menclub.hk (on their website and on their FB page). Menclub asks their audience if they have the balls to date Taylor.
Menclub continues to promote Taylor with somewhat salacious posts:
>>734337https://www.facebook.com/menclub.hk/photos/a.153530161435047/497297700391623/?type=3&theater (showing Taylor's upskirt photos to their audience)
Taylor did at least three videos for Menclub. One can still be found (the robotic Happy Chinese New Year one):
The other two are:
a Christmas greeting (can't find it)
an interview (
https://prettyuglylittleliar.net/uploads/monthly_2018_11/Screen_Shot_2018-11-24_at_2.38.51_PM.png.45191aee95e559b224e6d57834cb9a41.png)
I remember other content, but it seems to be deleted now. Many things were removed after she announced that she had a boyfriend.
Menclub itself seems to be a bit like Maxim, but people are upset about it because girls under 16 appear on the site. There's an entire section of "under 18" content. Recently Jasmine Hendricks, a 13yo model, was featured in a bikini in their "girls" section, and her body was discussed (no matter what Tom says, it was actually mentioned in the text). Menclub seems to exist primarily to ogle girls, but yes, there are other sections about cars and liquor, just like Playboy has some articles.
There are allegations that the private area of Menclub hides an escort or sugaring service, as private members must provide personal information, including their salary, in order to gain entry. None of this has been proven, however.
Someone cow-tipped and confronted Tom on Instagram. He has posted a pretty stunningly obtuse defense of his company's behavior, and subtly threatened the poster for making slanderous allegations against his company. All of the posts by this cowtipper have been deleted, and only Tom's defense now remains.
Here's the screenshot of his post alleging that the cowtipper is saying false things that will have "serious consequences":
https://prettyuglylittleliar.net/uploads/monthly_2018_12/Screenshot_20181211-144526_(1)_-_Copy.jpg.dc1e3561a5bf5cd3aac7a1c6b4728ade.jpgWhether or not cowtipping is condoned, the threat is pretty funny.
I think that's it for now.

>>747717I forgot to mention that there are other dodgy posts about Taylor left on the Menclub FB site. I don't think it's necessary to link them all. The comments are often sexual.
Taylor surely did not mind this type of attention, as her Menclub interview was promoted by her on her FB site with a wink kaomoji. She also had tweeted about her interviews and greetings / videos. These were deleted a year or two ago.

Elbow earns at least $10k a month, based on the apparent price of his new house and the frivolous spending (whoops I just got a Switch and some gaming gear while I was looking for nose spray)
How does he earn money? Does he get a cut of each escort introduction, or is the membership price so high? Can anyone figure out any part of his business that clearly makes money other than that? Ad sales on menclub? The beauty business? I haven't done much research other than looking at the website, I would love if it wasn't mainly for escorting or potentially naked photoshoots of teen models in the "member section"

Title: Look Only, Don't Touch (essentially See See No Touch), 13 Year Old Model Jemima Robinson
>Although 2005 is thirteen years ago, I'm sure everyone remembers what they were doing then: those born after the 70s supposedly working towards their careers, 80s-90s probably still in school, as for the millennials? Half of them in diapers and the other half weren't even made yet. And as for the model we are introducing today, she was just born!>That's right, this beauty that looks to be 18-19 years old is actually Jemima Robinson from Australia. She was born in 2005, making her only 13 years old this year. Although she cannot enter arcades yet, she is an established swimwear model. Although you can't say much about her figure (she's only 13, what did you expect), but she is beautiful and is has good body proportions, which is still pleasing to the eye.>Back then, when 15-year-old model Li Yun took swimwear photos, they took it to the courts, but now 13-year-old Jemima Robinson takes swimwear photos and there is nothing to it. Is it due to cultural differences, the times, or just the people?Sorry, noticed some grammatical errors and tried to fix them.

But it makes it sound more exclusive and desirable to require you to submit your income. It then seems like you'll be hobknobbing with the elite (instead of guys like you with a little extra cash). The same is true for why the actual activities aren't listed in the description. Mystery breeds interest and again makes it seem like a super elite secret society.

No. 749894
>>749786I never understood her fuck ton of small purchases of random clothing. She almost always wore the same jeans and rather bland looking tops. It never made sense to me why she even bothered buying new stuff she was never going to wear in the first place. Also, if she did wear it was generally only once. Her more expensive stuff tends to be more her accessories ( ie : bags, sunglasses, jewellery, makeup ), which are mostly purchased gifts from her husband.
She posted on IG story a picture of a survey with one of the questions being something along the lines of "who spends/shops the most" and it was marked as "Taylor". She's probably happy to be married now and have joint banking and finances. ( more money to spend and a husband that probably doesn't care because it hardly puts a dent in his pocket )
No. 749902
>>749894Her whole family agreed that Tom is the one who spends the most, and honestly seeing that he just casually bought a Nintendo Switch, I can see that.
I still don't see what is the problem with her spending habits, she clearly has the income for it and she's not flaunting it so what really is the problem here? Should she really just leave her money in her bank account?
No. 749938
>>749373I doubt a CEO would be the one searching for new models for anything, there are other employees who do that. He has many other businesses too, so he would probably be too busy? Maybe he just likes to post on instagram and be a part of Taylors thing, and he likes the attention and interaction?
>>749902The hate boner is too strong I guess. The only "problem" I have is that I wish she would buy more ethical pieces and not from sweat shop stores, since she does have the money, but that is just a small nitpick. It would be great if she would influence her younger viewers to start shopping ethically and to stray away from consumerism, but I doubt it would be happening soon, since she seems to love shopping, but I have hope!
No. 750031
>>749894As for that, I honestly think we are just buying what she shows on camera.
On vlogs she likes to sort of pass this image of "accessible" by showing her pimps, and having a more bland wardrobe, wearing the same old jeans.
But we don't know, maybe she does wear expensive stuff, and even those constant smaller purchases.
If she's not entirely what we see on camera, why would that be?
No. 750038
>>750031Because she vlogs almost every day and we see what she's wearing? Do you have some conspiracy theory in which whenever the camera is off she changes into $10k outfits? Especially when we saw what she wore at her "wedding", bridal shower and birthday. If you are secretly wearing expensive brands, those are the kind of events where you'd wear them, but she doesn't. Taylor really likes fast fashion, which isn't great in itself.
Is her spending normal? Probably not. She always has so much stuff with the tags still on, she has a full closet just with Christmas sweaters. It
is excessive, and I don't think it's becoming of someone who is 30 and should've found their style.
But it's not like she has couture dresses delivered to her doorstep every morning. She spends a lot, but not so much that she couldn't afford it.
>>749894Why do you just assume that they have a joint bank account? It's not like you get married and suddenly your finances are magically merged.
I think Taylor is annoying, but you guys are just reaching.

>>750031>If she's not entirely what we see on camera, why would that be?Because she's a fucking internet celebrity who's trying to maximize attention and profit. But since there are only rich men allowed and everything is exclusive and behind closed doors, I think the speculations are justified.
Only for the last point I'll give a pass because we have no evidence at all. It could be real love. It could be pure calculation too.

However, at the moment anons are just annoyed at her pretending to be an "average" level income with no clue what wealth is. It's just as stupid as someone pretending to be ghetto despite growing up in the subs. Plus I'm pretty sure her youtube is making more money than her modelling career ever really did. I know that social blade isn't accurate, but it gives a rough estimate. At this point, I think we can say that her youtube is covering all her spending habits. Not like she's covering any of the big expenses house-wise.
Also, when she moved to Japan she has only had like 7-8 jobs in total for modelling when there. She hasn't done a whole lot of modelling since like late 2013. I will always cringe at anons saying her modelling could support her living and spending habits while in Japan. No. She also started the kawaii trend in late/mid-2012 which was probably when she started becoming pickier about jobs. Which is something she admitted to in a vlog, that she started refusing jobs that didn't fit her cutesy aesthetic.

Sure, the more expensive designer stuff would be on his credit card.(YLS bags, Chanel,5k earrings, ect) Taylor is usually buying basic bitch fast fashion though. I've seen her social blade for other months as well and it usually was 1.2-2mil views which is still decent. What do you think she spends her money on? Clearly, not any bills as it def wouldn't cover those lol but can cover her generic cheap clothing.
I've seen some Youtubers talk about 1mil = 5,000$ and wouldn't be surprised if that is roughly what she makes a month. That's 5k to freely spend a month. You have to also take into account that she has a shit ton of videos also collecting views. This also doesn't cover when she does small brand deals/ads. I will admit though that there is a likely chance that they have a bank account they share for home decor and daily living expenses. ( maybe to make her feel like she's contributing )

>>753584$5,000 a month is a gross overestimation. According to research by Offenburg University, youtubers with average 1.4 million monthly views make less than $16,800 USD a year today. NYT also reported it was 1mil=$2,000 before tax and youtube's %45 cut four years go. The quality of ads, use of ad-blockers, etc also affects revenue.
Why ‘Success’ on YouTube Still Means a Life of Poverty:
http://fortune.com/2018/02/27/youtube-success-poverty-wages/Don't forget the money that needs to go into the video. It's unlikely she makes enough to even live frugally on her own. Also, fast fashion and cafe trips add up.

I doubt her whole ‘I was innocent model, didn’t want to do bikini/underwear shots’ image was even true. I know she wouldn’t bother to look at him if he wasn’t rich so I’m pretty sure her ‘career’ was through his bed.
If you’re from Hong Kong she wasn’t as successful as she wants everyone to think, I know plenty of Eastern European models in HK and they have much larger portfolio and better offers than her. The biggest thing I could remember her from was a Nokia commercial, that’s it.
The rest was just normal shots to newspapers etc. - without his help her career would fade away, sleeping with this disgusting old man was the best decision of her life and helped her in her life. You think why for so many years she catered to his favorite Lolita style? Why she made herself look like a teen? Because that’s what he likes, clearly he is fine with young girls next to porn stars on his website.
She is not as nice and innocent as she wants us to believe, I will not look at her the same way as I did before. I knew their relationship was bit sketchy but I would never think she could know how disturbing he is and still marry him. It only shows her true colors.

>>754525Taylor does not, and has never, known who she is. She just hops on whatever flavor of the month is popular at the moment, hoping she’ll go viral. It always backfires and makes her look incredibly cringy though. I unsubbed from her yesterday after being a long time viewer. Her faux-relatable act is getting really tired, and I’m tired of her stupid clickbait gimmicks. The Men’s Club “scandal” whatever you want to call it was the cherry on top though. I basically have zero respect for her now, and she’s strayed so far from the content I originally loved her for and followed for. I also could give a fuck less about her upcoming pregnancy/baby bullshit. She’s just going to become an obnoxious mommy blogger/trophy housewife and that’s all she’s ever going to be. She seems to think that 30 is so old and that now’s the time to settle down and grow up, when it’s the complete opposite. It really shows in her content though, she has completely 100% given up. She should prepare herself to lose a giant chunk of her subscriber base when she gets pregnant.

She's not unintelligent, she can write, edit, present, and model, and probably more (SEO/web advertising/content promotion)
But she just wants to have a baby or two and be a mommy vlogger. I think she feels left out from her sisters & friends but she'll look back at 40 and wish she didn't throw in the towel this quick.

People are always saying Kota is lazy af which she certainly is but regarding language skills Kota is miles ahead of Taylor. If I was Taylor, I would be ashamed of my inability of speaking Chinese. I don't know if she's just lazy or stupid but she certainly doesn't value the opportunities which were given to her. She has a very privileged mindset if she really thinks she doesn't need to learn Chinese now that her second residence is in Hong Kong and her husband is Chinese. Tom had to learn English in order to communicate with her although she was living in Hong Kong.
Now I sound like Kiki for real kek
No. 756666
>>756519Instead of learning any of the languages to the places she lived she just hired a translator to teach her to say a couple sentences for videos. ( And then claim she could speak the language at the time ) I'll never understand why she won't attempt to learn any Chinese though. Her communication with Tom seems so limited, I just imagine their conversations are of like that of cave people. " No" "yes" "Food" "BABE" "Hunger" "Sex" "Sleeep" ( I'm being over exaggerative but he does seem to struggle a lot with finding the words to respond )
When she does have a child I think she is going to really struggle with Youtube. Hard to edit for 6 hours straight or vlog every second. I highly doubt Tom will be giving up much work hours due to being the one that is the main income. Plus having an infant makes it hard to do lengthy DIYs or hours of shopping. I could also see her having a meltdown if her body doesn't completely snap back into shape.

Idk. Tom is maybe expose-worthy but you need more proof. Saying in a video that he is a pedo or whatever is defamation. You can only argue that he doesn't care about the rights of children and exploiting them for his gain. And all the cowtipping is seriously dumb and unnecessary.

Anyways, I can't see Taylor being that self-absorbed and vain that even her own child comes second to shopping and beauty. She is guaranteed money and is slowly building her fame. The number of women married to wealthy womanizers never really seem to care about love but rather just the cash and vanity.
To my fellow anons, because I'm curious about others opinions. Can you eventually look past someone's ugly appearance and learn to love them? Including the lack of communication as well. Also, as I recall from old vlogs he's gone for long periods of time due to business.

No. 757034
>>756980Honestly I never take appearance into account. Like sure, i'm vain when it comes to myself, i'm into cosmetics, fashion etc but when it comes to a partner, my criteria is solely based on my mental and emotional connection to that person, which obviously depends on their personality traits, character, values etc. For me, love and relationships is a mental thing, I don't really think about the physical aspects and I seldom find men "physically attractive" (because my attraction is based on other things so "good looks" don't tend to catch my attention).
I can't tell from her videos how shallow and superficial Taylor truly is. Like obviously she seems extremely privileged and that might suggest that she has some gold-digging tendencies ingrained in her, but idk her husband is kinda endearing and I could see him being a good choice for a life partner considering he's hardworking, well-travelled, experienced in industry and in his personal life (so he can probably manage his relationships well). These are definitely the types of things that would be important in a husband, especially if I was older/Taylor's age.

>Can you eventually look past someone's ugly appearance and learn to love them?I tried 2 times and failed 2 times. I wasn't sexually attracted to my last boyfriends at all but they had 'good characters'. So I didn't want to be superficial and gave them a chance. But everytime I sensed a slightly negative thing about them like them being messy or farting in front me in full blast, I felt disgusted and I asked myself: why am I together with him? If I was attracted to the guy, I wouldn't mind at all and would just laugh about it. Even if he was rich af, I couldn't pretend to be attracted to him. I'm not that desperate.
So in my opinion you can't learn to love somebody you aren't attracted to because their minor flaws will always appear huge to you.

I copypasted this definition from wikipedia:
"Gravure idols appear in a wide range of photography styles and genres. Their photos are largely aimed at male audiences with poses or activities intended to be provocative or suggestive, generally accentuated by an air of playfulness and innocence rather than aggressive sexuality. Although gravure idols may sometimes wear clothing that exposes most of their body, they seldom appear fully nude.
Gravure idols may be as young as pre-teen age up to early thirties. In addition to appearing in mainstream magazines, gravure idols often release their own professional photobooks and DVDs for their fans. Many popular female idols in Japan launched their careers by starting out as gravure idols."

And considering that posing is a slouch it's related to her posture. You can't slouch and have "good posture". They are polar opposites. I still do not know what the ONTD article has to do with cowtipping or intervening. You don't think Taylor is worth a thread? Fine. But people have the right to talk about her.
The worst thing that happened were those questions and posts on Tom's Instagram. I agree, that's cowtipping. That's intervening. An article about Taylor on another blogging platform? She can't do anything about it because it's his business and not hers. Yes, I agree, she shouldn't have married him. But punishing her with an article on ONTD is more than unfair. Just look at SimplyKenna for example. One of those drama channels even confirmed that they were contacted by a PULL member (starts at 2:30). They are so obsessed over her and nitpicking everything 24/7. The same will happen to Taylor imo.

>>761363tbh I can't make up my mind of how people on pull be like "OMGGG bet her mom IS disgusted by this,, tay i cant look at u the same anymore!!"
and think Tom hand picked the posts on the site… I honestly just think men are disgusting in general but I think they're overreacting because recently went to Japan and they will be xxx rated or sexy magazines on the magazine stand in the KOMBINIS or in news stand where children can look, etc and here people being SJW on a men's website (i'm not in favor of the child sexualizing thing but it doesn't come as shock to me) I just can't with the backlash Tay is getting, so dull

>>763368Same anon. I don't know why this is a
big deal to some anons. Who didn't know her boyfriend was shady?! Airhead Taylor is doing the right thing on not speaking about it. She probabl would've said something stupid like Tom.

>>767127>That's all to say that Taylor's boss (at the time)He wasn't her boss. If the dude owns Starz People and she's signed with them, he's her agent. If she was a booker who worked for him, then he'd be her boss.
But don't think that he's the "friend" anyway. Taylor said that Tom saw a photo-shoot she did on a mutual's fb and contacted the friend who gave him her professional info. Then, he contacted her agency Starz People who allowed her to be booked and work with Beauty Exchange. If Stephen was the friend, than why would he have had to call her agency at all.
I think given the BE stuff, and that make-up artists/hair stylists often post their work on social media, the friend was probably one of those two.
