I think this is mainly a western issue as the people who usually fall in to jfashion are people who spend too much time on the internet to come across trends happening in Japan from usually have other interests Japan adjacent whether it be anime or gaming which is popular with autists and retards. The girls in Japan end up in to fashions from actually going outside and making friends, and even then it’s not as popular as the west seems to think as we only see the top 1% of the 1% of people in to the subculture who make content popular and good enough to be seen by those outside Japan which probably establishes some sort of “rule” due to common factors that made them popular which western autists run with as actual rules. People in Japan are mostly wearing Uniqlo, H&M, Zara, just normie clothes and not the things regarded as “Jfashion”
