Munchies can go argue about chronic pain all they want, but it really isn’t all there is to it, and yes it can be degenerative but it can also come in a spectrum of severity. (I dont need a wheelchair but at age 23 im beginning to ponder a cane cause my knees and hip joints suck ass) What makes general hyper mobility distinct from EDS are the other compounded issues, the faulty skin, possibility of aortic aneurysm, gluten intolerance to name a few.
The problem is all weird looking things are dismissed as just quirks and not signs of an illness and since it’s genetic you may have a mom that just tells her child everyone feels a bit of pain or dizziness cause its just normalised to be sick and weird looking, which was my case. I was diagnosed a sperg and asked if I was flexible at the psych appointment and remitted to a geneticist where I got my EDS diagnosis.
Then again in the US medicine is profit driven and I can see med companies drooling at all the treatment EDS entails (physical therapy, gluten free diet, braces for your shitty joints, periodic screening for complications, mobility aids…) which would lead a shit doctor to diagnose a munchie with money for the hell of it

Anyway, the fat and body hair aren’t the main issues. The Laura drawing isn’t too bad (except for the filter) but I think that’s because the angle hides her wrists. The Aerith drawing makes her look like an ape, and not because of the fat or body hair. Why are her wrists and hands so big and thick in proportion to the rest of her body? Fat doesn’t give you gorilla arms.
