The CIA basically fucked about trying to figure out Oswald's motivation and subsequently, didn't. It's because most of their talking heads push blatantly forged evidence, lies, and incompetent research that makes a narrative look good. >>2455589Not quite. A lot of cultures had “third sexes” or other terms for effeminate/underaged boys that you see a lot of trannies use to defend themselves with. Even then, when Freud and other psychoanalysts came up with terms like “gender envy”, it was an analysis how a lot of women envied the placement of men in society. A lot of this can be boiled down to again, what I was saying, that a lot of women were seen as abnormal for wanted to be treated equally. I don’t know why you’re bringing up trannies being a modern problem, because what I’m talking about specifically is gender ideology, the ideology that is perpetuated by both parties and causes young kids/adults to troon out when they feel like they do not conform to the same standard. Instead of perpetuating the same stereotype and blaming one party, which I will reiterate, it does nothing but create short solutions. You don’t fix anorexia with liposuction, because it’s a mental problem mostly created by society with their self esteem. Both sides are not helping young adults when they pretend to ignore and give into defeatism and excuse their own by perpetuating the same stereotype. I don’t believe in both parties as they are equal when it comes to being detrimental to women, they both dehumanize in some kind of form if they don’t meet their standard.

If there were no disruptions at this stage, he thought girls would eventually learn to accept their lack of a penis and embrace their assigned gender role. However, he also believed that penis envy persists throughout life and plays a role in mental health issues. For instance, Freud thought that females tend to experience more jealousy than males and that this is a displacement of their penis envy.
You don’t think this could be something that could be seen as wanting to have the same placement as men in society? I didn’t say women wanted to be men, so I’m not sure what you’re confusing, I’m saying they were deemed as mentally ill and seen as abnormal for not conforming to that. I said “gender ideology is always existed, before the idea of transgenderism. Are you retarded?

If so, laws designed to stop them could violate the First Amendment-protected freedom of speech. This is the USA analysis, where there are semblance of laws and human rights so I'm not sure how you're debating this in your country, judging by your posts I'm going to assume "productively".

>On March 26, 2024, Rumeysa Ozturk, a Turkish Ph.D. student at Tufts University, co-authored an op-ed criticizing the university’s response to student demands for divestment from Israel, which was published in its student newspaper.
>On Tuesday, as captured on video, a half-dozen masked agents of the Department of Homeland Security ambushed Ozturk as she left her Somerville apartment to meet friends. She was surrounded, cuffed, led into an unmarked car, and driven away, apparently for the crime of having co-authored that op-ed. Despite a court order blocking authorities from removing her from Massachusetts without advance notice, she was flown to Louisiana—where many other visa holders like herself who have been critical of Israel are being held
>When asked Thursday about the student’s detention, Secretary of State Marco Rubio dismissed the uproar. “We revoked her visa … once you’ve lost your visa, you’re no longer legally in the United States,” he said. “If you come into the U.S. as a visitor and create a ruckus for us, we don’t want it. We don’t want it in our country. Go back and do it in your country.”
>Rubio confirmed recent reporting that the U.S. State Department had revoked 300 student visas—most or all for criticizing Israel

However, in this case it seems like she didn’t break any laws, so her visa should not have been revoked. It would be one thing if she broke into a building and vandalized it like some protesters have done, but all I’ve read is that she wrote something the Trump administration didn’t like. Even if non-citizens don’t technically have “free speech,” it’s obviously politically targeted. Judges have overturned other similar deportation orders, and it seems like that should happen here too.

>>2465339>you’re identifiable! I’ve made two posts using that phrase in an ongoing discussion which isn’t surprising considering we’re literally discussing the deportation of non-citizens. I’m trying to articulate my opinions in such a way that you can understand how someone with a different perspective might think. As I previously stated, I hope that Rumeysa Ozturk is not deported because she’s not an illegal criminal, just a student here voicing her opinions, but you’re presumably mad because I criticized actual illegal immigrants. I can tell you are concerned about anti-immigration sentiment because you think most immigrants are good people, and I think that’s probably true too. However, all you have to do is take a look at what is happening in Canada and Europe to see what happens when liberal societies are flooded with too many immigrants from different cultures. It’s much, much worse there, and it could be much, much worse here if we don’t find a middle ground that enables better regulation of who gets to come into this country. I have immigrant friends who have lived in multiple countries including the US/Canada/Uk, and they have told me that Americans are much more tolerant of immigrants than any other country they’ve lived in. Yes, there is still xenophobia here, but that xenophobia will only increase if you act like everyone who doesn’t want mass immigration is actually a rabid racist because it alienates a lot of people and ignores the root issues.

I’m not scared of gators I just give them their space.
Lots of foxes and armadillos that I’ve gotten too close to on accident, lol. Once saw a fox and her kits and thought it was a mama cat and kittens and got close and the fox looked at me like I was crazy. An armadillo lived under the shed at my old house and liked to torment my dog, those things are SO CUTE up close (don’t touch them though they can carry leprosy). There was a mama raccoon that lived in the tree at my old house that would bring each years litter of babies around to have snacks with the cats and possums. There was a huge possum my cat used to bully lol (tbf that possum hogged the outside cat food dish and was a very slow-mover). There was a baby possum that eventually wasn’t a baby that liked to spend the night in the semi-outdoor laundry room. One time two hawks got into a fight in my backyard and I got some really cool photos of them locked together and fighting, they were all bloodied and looked badass but were just making chirping noises. I saved a baby squirrel and a baby possum and baby flying squirrel and brought them to wild life rescues. Also saved a juvenile owl with a hurt wing - they will seek humans out when they’re injured, it’s weird.
Lots of random up close encounters with deer and rabbits of course. Seen some muskrats in the water and those dudes are super cute. Lots of random bear sightings, scariest wild critter sightings would be the feral hogs. Those things are brutal. Rutting male deer are scary too.

So I'm swimming and just kinda chilling, but I don't realize a baby manatee had snuck up behind me and the whole tour group turns just as the baby grabs me from behind in a bear hug. Except even as a baby, he weighs 600 lbs so his weight naturally pushes me under water and I fling my hands up to stabilize myself and the tour guide starts panicking and yelling, "You can't touch him! You can't touch him! He's a highly endangered mammal!"
Meanwhile, I'm going "Bublulubbrubrubb!" since my face is underwater and there's a six hundred pound baby on my back that's hugging me while gently nosing at my hair and making cute chirping baby noises.

Moving to a country where women are respected members of society and where I can afford to live comfortably was a major boost to my self-esteem. I don't have to be worried about gun violence, I don't have to worry about cleaning my house, I don't have to worry about a lot of stuff anymore. Finally living in a developed country made me wake up and realize that America, or at least my state New York, is a 3rd world shithole. My nigel was trying to convince me to move here for a year, ever since we got married, but only after Trump assumed power did I realize that I truly wanted out. So under the bill, TSA isn't going away, it's just getting privatized
>"The TSA has not only intruded into the privacy and personal space of most Americans, it has also repeatedly failed tests to find weapons and explosives. Our bill privatizes security functions at American airports under the eye of an Office of Aviation Security Oversight, bringing this bureaucratic behemoth to a welcome end. American families can travel safely without feeling the hands of an army of federal employees," Lee told Fox News Digital in a statement.

I still have my American passport and citizenship. The government can't deport citizens. Yes, misogyny exists in KSA, but misogyny in the USA is much much worse. In KSA, I can walk alone with my husband at night without fear of being mugged or assaulted by criminals. In KSA, I don't have to worry about crazy oligarchs like Trump destroying the country through incompetence. In KSA, I don't have to be skimping and saving to survive. I already went on a vacation since moving here, and my husband and I are planning 4 more before 2026, but back in NY I was lucky to vacation 2 times a year.
They are not slaves. They are servants. They get over 5 hours of time off every week and they're paid more than 150 riyals per month. It's crazy that you're so comfortable spouting dated racist stereotypes about KSA. Just because people here are wealthy enough to afford servants doesn't mean that they're slave holders. Meanwhile slavery WAS real in the USA and it's STILL real if you're in prison.
>>2469864I'm not rich, but KSA doesn't tax any income, which makes it way easier for working class people to move up the socioeconomic ladder. When we were living in NY, we were bringing in $140k a year before taxes, and we were still lower middle class and unable to move up in life. Now that we're here, we make $150k a year and there is no taxes and we can enjoy a true middle class life without having to worry about where our next meal will come from or how we'll afford rent.

>New Jersey Democratic Sen. Cory Booker carried an all-night speech in protest of President Donald Trump’s agenda into Tuesday morning.
>Booker railed against cuts to Social Security offices and spoke to concerns that broader cuts to the social safety net could be coming, though Republican lawmakers say the program won’t be touched.>Donning and doffing reading glasses, Booker read what he said were letters from constituents. One writer was alarmed by the Republican president’s talk of annexing Greenland and Canada and a “looming constitutional crisis.”>“I hear you. I see you, and I’m standing here in part because of letters like yours,” Booker said.>On Tuesday morning, Booker got some help from Democratic colleagues, who gave him a break from speaking to ask him a question. Booker said he would yield for questions but would not give up the Senate floor.

>President Eisenhower proposed the bill to provide federal protection for African American voting rights; most African Americans in the Southern United States had been disenfranchised by state and local laws. Though the bill passed Congress, opponents of the act were able, in the Senate, to remove stringent voting protection clauses via the Anderson–Aiken amendment and the O'Mahoney jury trial amendment, significantly watering down its immediate impact. During the debate over the law, Senator Strom Thurmond conducted the longest one-person filibuster in Senate history. Under the direction of Senate Majority Leader Lyndon B. Johnson of Texas, the Senate passed the watered-down version of the House bill. No. 2470761

life in the middle east can be great as long as you're under a moid's protection. the vast majority of the wealth from the middle east comes from oil subsidies. there are some countries where native-born citizens are so wealthy just from oil money that they don't have to work, so they import labor from developing countries. they have sparkling shopping malls filled with state-of-the-art attractions and designer shops, fast food restaurants, theme parks, and luxury apartments and hotels.
but consider this. we are headed for a massive oil glut. we actually have too much oil, not too little. the majority of china's cars are electric. how many electric cars do you see on american roads now? a good number, at least where I live. more countries and communities are using solar and wind power rather than oil. a good chunk of europe is under nuclear power too.
so what that means is that any country built on oil money is going to experience economic hardship. the retards who voted for trump because they wanted dollar gas can't see past their own noses to realize that there's going to be significantly less demand for oil in ten years. other countries are way ahead of us on this. we're basically on par with the pajeets and africans in terms of our demand for oil.
so, yeah, life in the middle east may seem great for a while. all you have to do is cover up your whole body in public and never go anywhere alone. that might seem like a good trade-off to some nonnas, especially those who grew up conservative. but how easy is it in your country to get a divorce if your moid cheats on your or, worse, starts beating you up because his dad and mom tell him to keep you in line? what if your moid demands he control your money, your job, your kids? moids change. he may seem like your nigel now, but that might not be the case in ten years. add that to the oil money drying up with nothing but tourism to replace it…not a bargain i'd want to risk, myself.

>>2471718on Trump's campaign website, they laid out their plans to create an "American University" that would be free to attend. presumably the university would basically be a right-wing indoctrination factory where they would emphasize "classical" Greek-based subjects and not bother to offer courses that would fall under any kind of DEI or CRT - meaning, no classes where Black history is mentioned, or women's history, or any kind of discussion of race or class. there are many right-wing influencers such as Christopher Rufo that want to remake higher education so that only these approved versions of subjects are taught. it's more than just the "job-centered" talk they gave a decade ago to justify cutting the humanities and arts; they also are attacking anything "woke" in STEM, including infectious disease research, nutrition, women's medicine, all that. MAHA is loaded with it too. all of this is coming out of fundamentalist Christian and Tradcath communities. look for small, private schools in your community labeled "classical school" and you'll see them. they are everywhere. this is why they want vouchers too - they don't want to send their kids to school with poor kids or black or hispanic kids, but they also don't want to pay the enormous cost of private school, so they want the government to pay for it. meanwhile they're all bitching about how their nice white kids didn't get into harvard, yale, or princeton even though they managed to get affirmative action abolished. it's because these mid schools produce mid kids who can hardly read and write. that's what happens when parents teach classes and you spend a third of the day in Bible study.

long term, companies are just gonna raise prices and hope the next president reverses this shit because no one is gonna spend like $50+ billion building a new plant on the basis of a tariff that could change tomorrow because it's all based on this retard's whims.
there's just gonna be stagflation and rising costs because of this scrote
And if the stagflation is bad enough, companies with large international sale MIGHT just leave america and manufacture their shit in the cheapest most stable country and eat the tariff rather than dealing with america's bullshit

>>2473965it’s genuinely funny that the magats think that manufacturing returning to america is a viable option. american moids are so lazy they won’t even get off their asses to go to school and get cushy lazy jobs anymore, they don’t want factory jobs. of course, a lot of manufacturing is automated at this point, which also renders the ‘muh american jobs’ thing moot. there are tons of materials that we can’t get or make in america, so companies will still have to pay the tariffs on them even if they do decide to move their production back here. i’m not having a knee jerk reaction to the tariffs just because trump came up with them, and i don’t buy cheap chinese clothes/goods made with slave labor, it’s just inevitable that most of what we buy can’t be replaced with 100% american alternatives. it would have been less bad if the trump admin put other measures in place to encourage american production before raising the prices on almost everything we buy.
also… the maga arguments don’t even make sense. some are saying it’s a negotiating tactic, while others like the low iqs in this thread think it’s a long con to bring manufacturing back to the usa? they can’t settle on a spin. if it’s just for negotiations, why did he say he wants to get rid of income tax and replace the irs with an ‘external revenue service’? if it’s a long con and we’re bringing jobs back to america, where is the legislation to support that? he sunk the chips act, i don’t believe he’s thinking long term viability.
he campaigned on lowering costs. now he’s enacting policies that will raise prices on americans almost immediately and you want us to suck it up and ‘take the pain’ for a little while so the anti-globalists can pretend that isolationism works? how’s that working out for the uk, by the way? how is this fair at all? why should i take any maga voter seriously when they threw a years-long bitch fit about the economy until daddy trump told them to shut up and deal with it?

People can get by like this in the short term but they all burn out eventually if they don't make it into management. But is it 'Making America Great Again'? Nope. People used to work these kind of jobs, justifying it all the while because they told themselves 'by my hard work and sacrifice, my kids will never have to do the same'. >>2474347>2008 Financial Crisis - "Soft Landing" Prediction: In April 2008, JPMorgan analysts predicted a "soft landing" for the U.S. economy, suggesting that the housing market downturn and credit issues would not lead to a severe recession. They argued that Federal Reserve actions and economic resilience would cushion the blow. However, the S&P 500 declined nearly 50% from its peak, bottoming out in March 2009, as the global financial crisis unfolded—far from a soft landing.>2021 Inflation Forecast: In 2021, JPMorgan forecasted mild inflation, aligning with the narrative that price increases would be transitory. Instead, inflation surged, reaching a 40-year high of 9.1% in the U.S. by June 2022, driven by supply chain disruptions, stimulus spending, and energy price shocks—proving their underestimation significantly off the mark.>2023 Recession Prediction: JPMorgan predicted a U.S. recession in 2023, with some analysts citing a 60% probability due to tightening monetary policy and economic slowdown signals. However, the U.S. economy grew at 2.8% GDP in 2024 (well above their earlier 0.7% estimate for that year), avoiding recession and showcasing unexpected resilience.>2011 Long-Term Capital Market Assumptions: In their 2011 Long-Term Capital Market Assumptions report, JPMorgan made predictions for asset class returns over a 10-15 year horizon. For instance, they projected U.S. large-cap equity returns (e.g., S&P 500) at around 7.75% annually. By 2016, the six-year annualized return was significantly lower (around 5-6%), missing the mark by over 1%—a notable error given compounding effects over time.>2022 S&P 500 Mid-Year Rally: In June 2022, JPMorgan’s top stock analyst predicted a 7% gain for the S&P 500 in the second half of the week due to quarter-end rebalancing. If you don’t have to answer to anyone, done have to compromise with anyone, and can bulldoze anyone who’s in your way, you can get big things done fast. The problem comes when the few people doing the bulldozing make huge bad decisions (Great Leap Forward) or outright corrupt decisions to pad them and their friends’ pockets at the expense of everyone they control. This inevitably happens when you give a small group of people enormous power, which is why people will tell you that democracy is a good thing even if it makes change take longer.

Getting first hand opinions from people involved or familiar that you know personally is great too, and if you don’t know anyone it encourages you to branch out socially. When it comes to law and government I always suggest tuning into the hearings and reading the bills yourself. Both sides have a tendency to exaggerate or downplay a bill when it helps them. Reading a bill first helps you form your own opinions, if you need help understanding look for lawyers that are explaining it in common jargon. When looking at any article identify the W’s first.
>who >what>where >why>when >how If you can’t find those. The article is incomplete. Also keep in mind disingenuous techniques like the passive voice. “Woman dies after bus accident” Vs “woman dies after man pushes her in front of bus.” Etc

People really seem to have totally forgotten the same stuff happened trumps first term. Here's a short list of stuff everyone said would destroy the economy/start a war, but nothing happened and Trump was right.
Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (2017)
The Warnings: Critics, including many economists and Democrats, argued that slashing corporate taxes from 35% to 21% and cutting individual rates would balloon the deficit, mostly benefit the rich, and fail to spark real economic growth.
What Happened: The economy did see a boost—GDP growth hit 2.9% in 2018, unemployment dropped to a 50-year low of 3.5% by late 2019, and wages grew, especially for lower-income workers. The deficit did rise (to about $1 trillion annually pre-COVID), but the apocalyptic economic collapse didn’t materialize. Businesses repatriated billions in overseas cash, though the "trickle-down" effect was debated—some studies showed the wealthy gained more, but job creation was undeniable.
Moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem (2018)
The Warnings: Pundits and foreign policy experts predicted this would ignite Middle East chaos, derail peace talks, and provoke widespread violence.
What Happened: Protests and clashes did occur, but the region didn’t descend into all-out war. The move solidified U.S.-Israel ties, and later, the Abraham Accords normalized relations between Israel and several Arab nations (UAE, Bahrain, etc.), suggesting the shift didn’t fatally destabilize diplomacy. Some argue it even forced a recalibration of regional alliances.
Deregulation Push
The Warnings: Environmentalists and progressives claimed rolling back Obama-era regulations—like on coal emissions or offshore drilling—would poison the planet and crash industries with unchecked greed.
What Happened: Energy production soared (U.S. became the world’s top oil producer by 2018), gas prices stayed low, and economic activity ticked up in sectors like manufacturing. Air quality didn’t nosedive—CO2 emissions even dropped slightly in 2019. Critics still point to long-term climate risks, but the immediate "disaster" didn’t hit.
Trade War with China (2018-2020)
The Warnings: Tariffs on Chinese goods were supposed to tank the U.S. economy, spike consumer prices, and alienate allies.
What Happened: Manufacturing jobs saw a modest uptick (about 400,000 added pre-COVID), and the trade deficit with China shrank slightly. Prices rose for some goods (e.g., electronics), but inflation stayed tame overall. The Phase One deal in 2020 got China to pledge more U.S. purchases, though enforcement was shaky. Farmers got hit hard but were bailed out with subsidies.
Pulling Out of the Iran Nuclear Deal (2018)
The Warnings: Experts said this would isolate the U.S., embolden Iran to go nuclear, and fracture alliances.
What Happened: Iran ramped up uranium enrichment, sure, but "maximum pressure" sanctions crippled their economy—oil exports fell from 2.5 million to under 300,000 barrels a day. No new wars broke out, and allies grumbled but stuck around. Israel and Gulf states quietly cheered the hard line.(learn2integrate)

the tax cuts for corps (tax cuts and jobs act) are expiring this year. this is why he’s imposing the tariffs (read: a regressive tax) on lower income consumers, so we foot the bill to make those cuts permanent instead of making the leeches contribute to our country. there will only be ‘tax cuts’ for the wealthiest, the rest of us get increases. he actually raised the national debt by 8 trillion last time and he’s trying to increase the debt ceiling by 5 trillion now, if you hadn’t heard. i guess the ‘budget hawks’ only care when it’s democrats doing things to help citizens instead of republicans bailing out their buddies.
no comment on the rest, i think the economics are more relevant to discuss itt.

This is probably more about voter turnout, for reference ~127m voted in 2016, ~155m in 2020, and ~152m in 2024. The population has only gone up in the last few cycles, and so has voter participation. I agree that people (especially Trump fans) blow the "popular vote" thing way out of proportion when it was one of the smallest differences in election history. Biden had a huge turn out in 2020 that simply disappeared while trumps support grew.
I'm sorry, but the dems are on the losing side. It's becoming very cringe to be associated with them and all that entails (troons, blm). Liberal media is at its lowest level of trust in basically it's entire lifespan. People who still watch the news and believe what's on it are increasingly viewed as just sad cases that you don't want to be associated with. These people crowd online spaces like reddit, because that's all that they have left. People in their lives might not tell them why, but they're slowly backing away.
Some people are gonna be in denial for awhile, it's natural. But the party is dead. Something new and hopefully better will appear by next election. But the situation actually really is devastating.

>Media Bias/Fact Check (MBFC) is a non-partisan site which provides two scores for over 8000 media sources: a bias rating and a factual reporting rating. Each entry also provides information which explains or contextualizes the rating. For example, the entry for The Guardian (pictured below) explains its “Left Center” rating by pointing to a column in which an editor explicitly stated that the publication is “centre-left,” citing surveys which found their audience is left-leaning, and analyzing bias in headlines. To explain the “MIXED” factual rating, the analysis brings up a list of failed factchecks, and mentions that the publication has relied on sources that have failed factchecks in the past.
>it is widely used by reputable news organizations as a neutral tool for assessing bias, and scholarly studies on misinformation and media have also used it as a measure of bias and factualness in news sources. Studies of news credibility ratings have found that news rating services, including MBFC, are highly consistent with one another. This implies they can be a good indicator of news quality, even if a static scale can’t tell the full story.https://newsliteracy.psu.edu/news/mediabiasfactcheck-com-as-a-tool-for-lateral-reading No. 2475087

>Do you think that the government expenditures are basically fair & reasonable, or do you think they are filled with waste, fraud, and inefficiency? Most people would agree that the government is too bureaucratic and uses too much money. It's one of those questions that almost everyone would agree with.
>Do you support or oppose the goal of cutting $1 trillion of government expenditures? The majority of people can't conceptualize a number that large. Most people seriously underestimate how much basic services (e.g., infrastructure repair) actually costs. This statistic also doesn't indicate that the sample was informed about how much the government spends, so they have no way of qualifying whether 1 trillion is a lot. E.g., cutting 1 trillion is a lot if the amount is 2 trillion, but cutting 1 trillion is a little if the amount is 100 trillion.
>Do you think there should be a U.S. government agency focused on efficiency initiatives, or not? Most people would agree to this premise. It's basically asking if there should be an agency responsible for government efficiency, which is something most people would support.
>Do think [SIC] the so-called DOGE led by Elon Musk is helping make major cuts in government expenditures, or not? This question doesn't ask whether or not the sample supports the cuts or not, just whether or not DOGE is cutting expenditures. It's like asking "does rain make the ground wet?" instead of "do you like or dislike rain?"
If you actually read these graphs, you can recognize that none of these survey questions actually relate to whether or not the survey sample supports DOGE or not. It's disingenuous to extrapolate that premise from these survey questions.

They bleat stupid shit about voting in person every chance they get. Then we have the voting machines, which are easy to hack. In particular, I fear that Musk has found a way to manipulate voting machines. He openly stated in 2022-2023 that he bought Twitter just to get Trump elected. Picrel is from that fawning biography (2023). Even his bootlicking biographer was disturbed.
Maybe the best thing that can happen is some kind of giant investigation of Musk's involvement in the 2024 election. He's notoriously sloppy with his alts and tripcodes. There's probably evidence of what he has done, but we need a group of people who will stop at nothing to investigate and prosecute him before he flees the country and sets up shop in Russia. I stopped paying attention to Trump's trials because it became increasingly clear to me that nothing would ultimately happen. It was all too late, and the Jan 6 thing took way too long to get going.
I don't know how we can have truly fair elections anymore. Musk is openly giving money to voters. No one is stopping him. Trump is helping Musk shill cars in front of the White House. The federal government is being purged of anyone who isn't a staunch loyalist. It's bleak. The Supreme Court is stacked with conservatives. However, disenfranchising people with dual citizenship is fucking insane, especially in a country built on immigration.
>>2476444Yeah, it's bullshit that the USA's only peer here is fucking Eritrea, and the people playing fair and trying to be transparent either have to face barriers to managing their finances or, if they make enough to avoid the barriers, get double taxed.
