Maybe setting up a consistent schedule will help you, but I'm very lax with myself because I know I'll quit the second I start to dread something. If I feel like knitting today, I will. If I don't want to knit for the next two weeks, that's cool. I keep everything as nonchalant as possible because my dumb little monkey brain is a sensitive bitch.

I felt extremely anxious and tired, but I was so thin, only eating air and drinking diet soda. I feel guilty that I stopped doing that. I have a gnat infestation in my home office. Not in the kitchen or bathroom, nowhere near any sink, leak, or food: just in my office. What's weird is when I come into the room in the morning there are around 6-10 of them lined up in a perfectly straight line along the top left corner of my monitor, and another 5 or so sitting in a circle on my desk. It's like this every morning. I don't have any house plants and when I eat in my room I clean very well. I don't have a trashbin in here, nor any houseplants, I never leave empty cans, bottles, plates, etc. I've wiped down my monitor and desk with cleaner each night to no avail. I feel like their pattern of sitting is really creepy, though. I'm going to try the apple cider vinegar method to get rid of them but I'm almost more concerned with why they are in my clean room, and why they sit in a weird formation. Also a side note: I turn my monitor off at night so they aren't attracted to a light source or anything.

I can't tell if I have aphantasia or not. When I close my eyes, all is black, but I can just FEEL just about any scene. If you asked me picture a lemon floating in a bathtub full of milk, I wouldn't see it like a picture, but I could just FEEL it. I think that maybe there just isn't a word in english for the verb I'm doing, because when I say "feel" I don't mean like with touch or emotion; instead I just sort of conjure the essence of something in my brain and can play with it in a space separate from vision or language. can I get diagnosed with ADHD even though my school reports say my behaviour is excellent? My psychiatrist said she needed to have a look at them, but I read through them all and the teachers noted my behavior as being excellent, even though I was struggling and was drawing most of the time during class. I feel like I shot myself in the foot because I know I have issues, but it seems like I can't even prove it. My teachers probably just liked me even though I never submitted drafts or hw and only did my assignments the class (not even night) before.

My resume was not very impressive, but I think what the company I interned at liked about me was that my weekend projects related to a specific interest they needed more people in. I did my internship over the summer, got an extension until my graduation, and then got a full time offer there. I didn't bother interviewing after that since I was happy at the company and with the offer.
As for being a research assistant I knew someone who did it but it wasn't very exciting stuff, they just helped the professor develop homework assignments for the students. I also had a friend who worked at a lab doing research as a student but the intern program was more educational rather than them actually considering hiring any of them afterwards.
In general I would say a big part of landing a job is just luck. I knew someone who landed a internship turned job with just 20 applications with mediocre grades, no projects, and no leetcode practice because the company liked their personality. On the other hand I know someone who has applied to 300 places, has projects,and has done leetcode with no job.
