Out of curiosity I looked at the retail price of brand name Vraylar. A one month supply is over a thousand dollars and there currently is no generic version available in the US market. While anecdotal, in my experience with a few loved ones, non-compliance with severe mental illness medication stems from one to two issues: either the meds work to where they feel normal and think incorrectly that they no longer need it (not realizing it's the meds) and stop, and/or, the side effects from the medicine are too much so they stop without consulting with their healthcare liaison. Anti-psychosis medications in particular can have some really rough side effects. In PT's case though, she isn't a reliable narrator so for all we know her alleged side effects stem from her other severely neglected health issues and she's using it as yet another excuse to just be a miserable sod. Medication is only one part of the equation, the other part is an inner desire to improve herself/her life and that just isn't something a pill can fix.

I like her cat paintings. They’re fun and quirky. Plus animal art doesn’t have to be realistic and in general there really aren’t standards that aren’t has to adhere to. People are allowed to express themselves via artistic outlet if it makes them happy. I don’t know what she is charging for her pieces but if people want to pay whatever she is asking, that’s their choice. However, even the most talented artists can have trouble selling their pieces, it’s all subjective and about finding buyers who want and are willing to pay. On top of that most artists of any genre, painting, music, writing, aren’t famous until after they die. And sometimes not for decades after that. Once again, it’s all subjective.
