Also, idk if that "person" wants us to come away from this thinking that if black celebrities, singers, models or even just random black women have had their photos saved/stolen and reposted by some white 4chan scrotes, that means they're "whores"/"untouchables" and we can't discuss them even as other black women, but it's retarded either way.

I've come to understand that there's a sort of racialized trauma some women have that makes them associate the existence of pretty black women with this inherent insecurity and a desire to appease ooglay white men. It's like they've internally colonized black beauty to be "white man's territory", it feels a couple of steps back from outright claiming black beauty is "eurocentric". In reality, there have literally always been beautiful black woman, and for whatever reason, current media that bothers to include us (which is primarily produced and decided on by other demographics) typically pushes a different story. I don't think anons in here are wrong for posting photos of pretty women of our own race if they don't like what's put out in the mainstream (if you like it, that's okay, we don't all need to share the same opinion). Oherwise, half the threads on /g/ started and proliferated by white women to celebrate their own demographic's beauty should be closed on transbian allegations.
I suspect this is a very personal, touchy subject for some because this is still an imageboard, and I know some of the people posting here might have their own experiences. I wish them the best, but I also wish they'd get help, reflect on it or at least be nicer instead of projecting it outward and being weird whenever someone posts a pretty black girl. Why does it have to start an argument all the time?

I'm sorry if what I said made you feel attacked in any way, but sure, we can remove the "white" and just make it about moids in general. White lesbians, if you like. Either way, it's fine to post pretty black women. It's bizarre to think black women being pretty is somehow linked to "insecurity" or moids or asking to be dated. If you disagree or just have no interest in those pictures, post other things you want to talk about instead. It doesn't need to be a fight.

>>561959nah some of us have just seen far too many black female influencers developing severe body dysmorphia, plastic surgery addictions, photoshopping themselves into a completely different person and going down the extreme asianfishing or whatever else route due to trying to look like belle delphine or kpop girlies.
this isnt just a black girl phenomenon btw. plenty of white and latina women also engage in this behavior and its so unhealthy because it's teaching them to fight against their natural features and all try to look one certain way. we even have fully black girls pretending to have monolids and larping as half asian and having identity crises now because they're trying to pander to some strange internet ideal.
(anyone remember the black girl who constantly wore ice white wigs and started photoshopping herself into a weird bogged alien? she's just one example of this gross phenomenon)
im all for black women embracing their natural cuteness. i guarantee you nobody is hating on minnie riperton or pat cleveland looking cute, soft and hyperfeminine in the 70s. when it becomes about trying to completely warp and fight against your natural features then yeah we have a problem.
No. 561982
>>561981literally mentioned other women doing this too if you bothered reading the post.
also its more political for us because black people have been abused for our looks and brainwashed since birth that our features are too 'vulgar' 'too much' 'over the top' 'overwhelming' 'too big' etc. i can understand why insecure black girls go down that route because they are confused and full of self hate, but it's not behavior that should be encouraged. and it undeniably also often goes hand in hand with trying to pander to white or asian moids too. trying to tone down our blackness to make us less intimidating and more palatable. btw its not even about eurocentric beauty standards anymore, asian beauty standards are the trend now with zoomer girls, but replacing one racist groups ideals with another doesnt make it any better.
No. 561988
>>561976I agree that the problems you mentioned are bad. My issue is that I don't think that's the focus for some of these posters, because the common complaint is insecurity or something about men, not mental health or the artificiality. I'm not confident that the fight would stop if all the anons who want to celebrate black beauty just posted Donna Summer or Minnie (love them and Pat), and even then, as long as it doesn't get to unhealthy levels, black women are allowed to try out and wear whatever style they like. I may hate kpop and its attached culture, but I'm not going to bash another black girl if she likes the makeup style or fashion or whatever. It's just not my thing, and if she's pretty, she's pretty. It's not automatically a problem, and from what I've seen, few to none of the women who've been posted in these threads fall
victim to those issues.
>(anyone remember the black girl who constantly wore ice white wigs and started photoshopping herself into a weird bogged alien? she's just one example of this gross phenomenon)You mean bratphobic? I won't post his photos here, but he turned out to be a Latino troon IIRC. Neither black or a woman, but he claimed to be blasian. I've never seen black female influencers lie about being half-Asian, though I have seen maybe two African girls get harassed and accused of Asianfishing (by white people) for having naturally almond-shaped eyes (one of the girls was a hijabi, and not involved in any weeb stuff), and one African-American girl get told she was "copying Belle Delphine" for having pink hair and fake freckles (Belle Delphine doesn't even have real freckles or dye her own hair pink). To be fair, I've seen a couple of mixed race women actually try to LARP as Asian and get flak after people find their original photos, and I'm not throwing them under the bus, I just think that comes from another kind of pain.

We are constantly advocating for whatever cause du jour so not stressing yourself and leaving it to someone else would be out of the norm for us which is why she called it radical.
Anon B says there is no point and we should keep being SJWs because we get killed or hurt or whatever her point was and thinks that being soft means that you're a pushover or something
My point is that we are killed and harmed anyways and we allow thugs and criminals to proliferate (saying it's racism to avoid them or lock them up) and generally, softer personalities are not well received in black communities so a lot of us adopt a more rough around the edge persona to fit in. We do this and still get hurt or killed so anon b is getting her panties in a bunch for no real reason

>>562899>>562902I think you might mean me. I haven't seen videos or comments like that, but I have a degree of real life experience with this kind of thing. If you have long hair naturally, it's common for some people to say it's fake out of weird spite, or compliment you in a backward way like what you describe. IMO, it's because they're trying to remind long-haired black women that they're to be considered the "lucky exception", rather than living proof that the whole narrative that black hair inherently "does not grow" doesn't really hold as true as they might like. It's a way of "othering" black women who don't fit into pre-established stereotypes, and (if black women with shorter hair or wigs or weaves are possibly around) telling black women whose hair isn't as long to "know their place". It's very divisive and undercutting. There's also the whole imagined idea of like, Schrodinger's non-black ancestry having to be involved somewhere for a black woman to have longer hair, so yes, some of them are basically just saying "Thank god for that single drop of white or native blood you definitely must have somewhere down the line!
Surely, that's why your hair is long". If you are hearing this while
African-American (or perceived as such), it becomes more sinister when you realize what those people are saying is "Good for you, someone raped a slave somewhere in your background and that's why you have
nice hair." If there's anyone who doubts that there are non-black people with such evil thoughts, pic related was a comment left on a YouTube video about British soldiers gang-raping Samburu women from Kenya and leaving them with mixed race children. It's called The Rape of Samburu Women. If that isn't enough, understanding the mentality behind "mejorar la raza" is a testimony to how an unfortunate amount of non-black people view racial mixing.
I do want to say that I hesitate to argue that the
majority of people giving out this "genetics" compliment are
consciously doing the latter, because I don't think as many people of other groups conceive racial dynamics and ancestry the way black people are often socialized to in such a bare way, but it definitely exists as an easily deniable, thinly-veiled denigration of either your DNA, or the majority of it.
I've noticed they don't say these kinds of things to other demographics of women as often. They just compliment their hair if it's nice and go. I don't even think non-black people with woolly/delicate hair like ours are accused of having black ancestry very often, people just let it be. With black women, our hair is so heavily politicized that it seems like everyone has to say something negative somewhere down the line.
Another thing I've noticed is that even some black women say these kinds of things, and I think it's part of the whole issue of casual, internalized hatred for natural black hair. Historically, we were forced to cover it up because it made some other women feel insecure about themselves (tignon laws), and until somewhat recently, we were literally penalized for our own hair by employers and schools, which helped create the reliance on wigs, relaxers, and you know the rest. Since slavery favored utility over aesthetic and (black) traditional culture, I suspect that several slaves were made to shave their heads. Hair, symbolism using it and even specific hairstyles have always been important in many of our traditional cultures, and I think disrupting this, intentional or not, tied into more deliberate acts of cultural erasure (refusal to document the exact origins/specific ethnic groups and real names of enslaved people, disrupting language so that slaves couldn't plot revolts or have conversations that enslavers weren't privy to, etc). In African schools that employ the British colonial system, both boys and girls are often forced to have their heads shaved because of ideas of black hair being inherently "inappropriate" or "distracting" (again, this goes back to African-American people being denied work and schooling for their natural hair). In a bid to assimilate to non-black culture, a lot of female African-American celebrities have been, and often still sport weaves, wigs and relaxed hair, and I think this also made them take off and maintain staying power as a fashion trend both for African-American laypeople and for the entire black diaspora. The natural hair movement (which was based) was framed as "rebellion" rather than an inherently neutral, natural mode of existence, and though that idea kind of softened as it faced a degree of normalization, it is still considered subversive in a few ways, and some black people do get fired or harassed for it still. I think all of these things coupled with natural shrinkage (kek) have created a mass culture of neglect of our natural hair, and a perfect breeding ground for the thought that black hair simply cannot, or does not grow long naturally. It gets really easy for black women facing the brunt of this (especially those newly getting into actually caring for their hair and letting it grow) to fall
victim to this idea, see a black woman with long hair and say "Good for you, congratulations of your
genetics (I could never have hair like that and it's not because of my individual genetics or hair care practices, it's just because I'm black, you are simply lucky)". The whole thing makes me sad to think about, and I think about all that can be done is encourage natural hair, black hairstyles, etc as much as possible until they become fully normalized, and try to push for more black women whose hair is growing slowly to look to wigs or extensions that actually match their natural hair texture, rather than straight ones. I know that might necessarily create an even greater divide between ourselves and other groups and paint a target on our backs for a while, but I don't like the results of what we have going on now, or how it's made people talk about black hair/genes. I really don't.

>>562982Thank you anon!!!! You have such a beautiful way of articulating your thoughts. Gosh I'm so glad we have you in this thread. This has inspired me to keep going with taking care of my hair. I've reached my desired length and started neglecting it as a result but your response has made me want to go back to being super passionate about my hair. Cheers

>>562877non-racist people dont suddenly become racist, and racist people don't suddenly become un-racist imo.
racism goes beyond social conditioning, i think its largely an innate persoality trait that is strongly genetically influenced tbh. its been proven that racists have lower empathy in general, stronger disgust reflexes, get offended by smells more easily, have problems with abstract thinking and perceiving nuance, are more prone to paranoia and personality disorders etc. theyre basically just complainers, whiners and troublemakers, in every aspect of their lives. i know non-blacks who have been harassed and robbed by black people, but still arent racist, and tbh nothing will ever made them racist because its just not in their nature to be like that.
meanwhile there are people who hate and despise black people despite never even meeting one in person before (like a lot of slavs and asians for instance)
i think racist people tend to remain racist for their entire lives, and same with non-racist people. it goes beyond just skin color, racists struggle with being normal and well-adjusted in many areas of their lives. and of course, a lot of fake liberals are actually very racist in private.

>>564878they are definitely harder to separate (which is why misogynoir is its own whole category of sexism) but i guess the most obvious example is when people say sexist shit that could be applied to all women, not just black women. especially when black men say misogynistic shit about black women because they have less reason to hate us based on our race.
when white people bash even beautiful and eurocentric black women, that's usually more to do with racism than misogyny. same with when other races of women shit-talk us. its more race based hatred they have for us.

>>563288I feel like catfishing any potential friends to vet them is a waste of time and effort. I just let people show their true nature as they talk to me. They tend to assume I'm white for some reason (never talked to anyone who demanded to see face first), and if they're racist, I just stop talking to them.
On the note of online friends, what's crazy to me is that there are groups that basically no one has ever heard of or cared about whose young members spend their days perma-seething about black people. I'm talking about people with unrecognizable names, zero historical figures of power or relevancy, and absolutely no currency on the world stage. They have to literally dig up excerpts from texts by forgotten scholars (or unpopular conspiracy theorists) just to find anyone mentioning them. They have no distinct features, no real cultural output, and no one would be able to identify them in a crowd of other miscellaneous hordes. People who fit in everywhere and nowhere at once.
I won't name them because I don't think they even deserve exposure on a relatively obscure anonymous imageboard. I'm just saying this because I ended up running into someone from one such group, and she said something about only caring about her ethnic group and its issues. I thought that was interesting and wanted to learn more, so I looked through her Twitter account, and basically all she does is insert herself into western political discourse, sigh over not being a white girl from 2014 Tumblr, bitch about black people and "mutts" (a quick look at her group's history unsurprisingly reveals that they themselves are conquered "mutts") and get angry whenever random white or other people offhandedly call her group brown because "My second cousin has green eyes and my uncle's great grandpa's wife had blond hair. We are white/basically white, no difference!!". She has a few mutuals and a group chat of people her age doing the same thing, so I quickly realized it wasn't just her. It's not even about being offended at this point, the whole thing just seems surreal and pathetic. It's not even the first time I've seen people of some non-notable (or even internationally disliked) group trying their hardest to insert themselves where they're irrelvant. Are some people's existences and history just so boring that they feel the need to jump into these kinds of racial politics? I'm not kidding when I say people you've literally never heard of are foaming at the mouth over you and crying over not being considered white. So many individuals are practically schizo. It feels like living in a black comedy. I don't let it make me paranoid of others, I still (kind of) give people a chance, but it has increased my sense of detachment from their suffering, and I kind of think that's how it should be.

>>563643No it's a high quality education it's just the environment is extremely
toxic. There is virtually no support from ombudsman/advisors so expect to be able to solve internal issues on your own. Also, sexual harassment is VERY widespread. It also has the typical issues with exploitation of the foreign students. Don't apply to Brown, high rates of suicide from shitty supervisors.
Given the state of the country I also wouldn't apply right now as they're revoking visas for IG's. You could easily get detained for being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

I feel like black women are becoming more victim blamey, I keep seeing in real life/online even some women in my family who think that ANY Woman who benefitted in anyway from a man who abused her, "Isn't as much as a victim" or needs to be "held accounatable." For example, Cassie. Firstly she worked for him. So he was techincally supposed to be helping her gain fame/get money. Secondly, so the fuck what that she gasp went into a relationship at a young age with a older billionare and wanted to gain fame/money from it? In between the rape, trafficking, threats, black male, beatings, being forced to stay, watching him blow up cars/threaten people etc. I'm sure she did enjoy his wealth. SO THE FUCK WHAT? Does that change anything? Also this idea that she didn't love Diddy and was just some gold digger (even if she was so what?). Even when women are getting very little and being abused people shit on them for that as well.
I don't care to discuss Cassie being "held accounatable" (Like the idiots on LSA keep whining about). The whole world knows her lowest points, she lived through that shit. Whatever fucking "punishment" you think she deserves for "Chasing fame" or not being the perfect victim she's gotten it.
Same goes for MTS, Halle etc. the whole world has to see what happens to them, the results of bad decisions or choices. They are fucking being held accountable, some way say more so than the person who did the shit!
Also speaking of LSA, I hate the way they talk about minors. They still talk about teenage girls as if they are equals/grown women.
I know victim blaming will always exist, but I do think maybe it's because a lot of us have seen our mothers/other women be abused and get nothing from a man. So seeing women being abused but gaining money/fame or whatever, to them is a slap in the face.
IDK but it's annoying. Theres a lot of weird Diddy defenders on LSA as well.

>>565227Not "becoming", IMO. It's always been like this. Dumb pickmes are allowed to be loud and wrong in the black community because they're black men's biggest servants and handmaidens. We had some improvement in the last year or two, but things have regressed. It probably has to do with the current administration. Just wait for the idiots to complain about how the whole Diddy thing is "just putting a black man in jail", much like with the Tory Lanez bullshit we're seeing now. I even saw some of them back when R Kelly was getting jailed all around the internet.
I agree with you on LSA, it's always had a nasty way of treating teenage girls like women, but saying grown-ass men are "just boys!!" too. It's full of catty gay scrotes, racist trolls, cleaners for celebrities (probably who the Diddy defenders are) and retarded boymoms. About the only thing they're based on is the tranny topic.

>>565227Well I don't buy Cassie's
victim act tbh. She willingly continued seeing and sleeping with Diddy despite knowing he was a weirdo. She went to all the freakoff parties, enjoyed all the designer clothes and jewelry, drank all the 100K champagne etc etc, even cheated on her husband with the Diddler. She had what 99.9% of abuse
victims dont have which was millions of dollars, powerful attorneys, a whole team of support, access to the best therapists, and the opportunity to leave and fly and restart anywhere in the world that she want. She chose to stay with him for years, and so no she is not really a
victim in the true sense that the average black woman is.

>>566243>>566236there was a lot less policing of women on the internet back then. there were also just less people on the internet in general. i remember in the 2000s when it was seen as a loser hobby to spend more than 1-2 hours a day online. the internet was mostly nerdy moids and introverted nerdy or artsy girls.
then after the iphone came out, normalfags came and invaded it and hypersexualized everything and started policing and mocking and shaming everyone and it became so conformist and people started being afraid to show their creativity and for women it became more about marketing yourself and sexualizing yourself to make a profit.
