Nonners, I need your advice. Last year I took up cat fostering, and the org gave me a 9-year-old male cat to foster. He is super affectionate and loves everybody, even strangers. He likes being around people and he loves sitting on laps. It’s been a year now and nobody has so much as expressed interest in adopting him. Next month I’ll be moving across the country to live in a tiny studio apartment alone, and won’t be working from home all the time anymore. I definitely will want a cat, but at first I assumed it wouldn’t be this foster because he deserves to be in a home with more people more of the time. But I just worry about how it’s been a year and what if he never finds a home once I leave? I know my home won’t be ideal for him but would that be better than leaving him to the system again?

So I found out last week that you have a blind spot in the centre of your eyes and that one eye compensates for the other blind spot. So I drew pic related on a post it note and sure enough, when I covered one eye and focused the other on the plus sign and moved the paper around, the circle disappeared. I showed it to my coworker who asked why he could still see the yellow of the post it note but not the circle and I blew it off initially but actually i'm stumped.
How come if I can't see the circle because it's in my blind spot, the area where the dot should be is post it note yellow? Wouldn't it be black because i'm literally blind there, or does it fill in the blind spot with the surrounding colours? If it had a different background, like idk anything with detail, would the circle disappear but the detailed background remain or would it be blurred?

You might also have some sort of reference of the themes, motifs or symbols you'd like to use if there are very many of them to reference when you're stuck. How can I turn THIS situation into a betrayal?" Even if you don't need those kind of references, you will most definitely have some sort of main outline created that you can reference so you don't mix up the details and so you can plan out the plot in very plain language. If you have ideas for specific scenes or dialogues as you create this you might insert them in your outline to refer back to or keep them in a separate reference document to keep things clean and organized, depending on how you like to work. You also might not write out your entire outline before starting your story but instead update as you go. But other authors might prefer doing it in a particular order. There is also a lot of editing involved in the writing process, where you will add and remove content and rearrange scenes and chapters for a better flow. Generally it's not a super linear process to write any long story let alone one that's complex and entangled, but however it comes together it starts out very bare bones and gradually becomes its final form.

I also think there will be many positions created solely for supervising the workings of AI and troubleshooting if something goes wrong.
I predict there's going to be an anti-AI movement and an advocacy for simplicity and human-made products and a 'return to nature' movement where people live in communes and farms, raising their own food.

nonnie. Our mind loves remembering all of the good memories of someone instead of the bad ones, but trust me, breaking up was probably worth it. I would advice to focus on finding yourself, really. A lot of women tend to dedicate their whole life onto being together with someone instead of relaxing and having fun while being single, or in worst case, learning to find yourself outside a relationship. If you continue to do it I will have to reduce the frequency with which we talk/stop talking entirely” (depending on how stressed it makes you) and follow through. Change the topic every time they try to tell you to do something, if that doesn’t work, do not engage with them. They will either learn to respect your autonomy or have a ragefit that will at least be well away from you. Sounds exhausting.

My mom is definitely over-nurturing despite me being an adult, therapy helped me with putting the foot down every time she crossed the line, it's still a work in progress and already took over a year but I'm seeing a huge improvement already, since she was actually willing to listen in the end.
It's not going to be easy, depending on how your parent is like there might be a heated argument, or heavy guilt tripping but you need to stay firm, "I'm an adult and you cant treat me like this and if you'll continue to do so, I'll have to distance myself". And if they dont give in, just stop talking until some time passes and they - or you - are ready to start talking again. Being firm about the boundaries no matter what is the only way to make it work.

I grew up having sex from a young age which was gross and messed me up in a lot of ways but if there was one thing I did, it was educate myself on how to have safe sex. My parents were extremely weird about sex and it didn't help that I was sexually curious. I think if I was in a healthier environment where my parents were receptive to me speaking about sex and opened those conversations with me then they could have warned me away from a lot of the harm that had been done to me at an early age. Proper sex education goes a long way in not only teaching teenagers how to have safe sex, but also how to have consensual sex and destigmatising the subject itself. But it's not just about putting on a condom, it's talking about conversing with your partner, knowing how to say no, knowing it's ok to say no, understanding the value in your autonomy, etc.
So ultimately if I had a kid, and we had the sort of household where these conversations were comfortable and open, then sure. If not, they'd probably do it somewhere else anyway.
I'll add lastly that teens are having less sex than ever, a dramatic decrease from the 50s. So it might not be as much of a concern as you'd think.
