If you are in the 18-23 year old range, do you have to be a cute 10/10 TikTok influencer to get a halfway decent looking bf? Because all of the men on dating apps are so fugly it's unreal. And from what I've seen online, the biggest concentration of attractive men is on TikTok compared to anywhere else.

A regular pencil, a big eraser, sketch paper that tears off the stack or is spiral bound. You can download a Loomis book for free (easy to steal, not a bad thing to own either though) and get started that way, really popular for a reason and those books have been teaching people to draw since the 40s.

Mechanical pencil is good if you like fine lines or you like the feel better or hate sharpening pencils

Is it worth it trying to become an internet personality in your mid-twenties? I feel like everyone started when they were 16-20 and in the niche I want to be in I'm already older than all the popular creators who are 21 years old and super successful because they've already been doing it for years + talent. Oh, Joplin. I had been looking for one that isn't as minimalist as Simplenotes (which still is decent) and isn't as messy and distended as Notion. Maybe there's a better one out there, but I have had a good time with it, the web clipper works well, formatting, etc. I also like how I can upload a picture/emote to label notebooks.
Syncing is kind of annoying (though using the Onedrive option with a Microsoft account is okish; 5gb), and the two editor option is kind of weird but not a problem.

Picrel is a dancing duck gif. There's also 8 different themes, including different dark ones.

Maybe not maintain, but prioritize different things at different times, if you can. Sleep is incredibly important, so you can't let that go. If you know you are going to be incredibly busy with assignments, tell your friends that. Let them know you're not going to be available to them that week (or for the next few weeks) due to your studies. Likewise when and if you have some downtime, focus on your friends and social activities. One of my friends told us that she wanted to spend a year fully focused on her studies and was barely in touch with us during that time, which we all understood. Not saying you should do that, but your friends are hopefully very understanding of you needing sleep and time to focus.

Probably came with the mindset it was going to be syruped to hell like Starbucks. I will say that a good coffee shop should be able to make their drinks taste like the bean rather than acidity. One place I tried they must've used medium or dark roast it left the 2 coffees I tried tasting way too rancid.

Wasn't it just that they saw Reylo as a toxic relationship? Like you said there have been worse ships, but maybe the push back was stronger because of the popularity of reylo and how much talked about Star Wars was. I remember people who viewed Kylo Ren as some kind of incel allegory or whatever and the interrogation scene being called literal rape, a lot of people felt strongly and that he shouldn't be redeemed, much less "rewarded" with Rey. While some people truly cared about all of that, I also think it gave the opportunity to those who just wanted to be angry for the sake of it and drag down shippers for not being woke. But now that I am thinking back to it, I'm not sure the social justice sentiment was the biggest reason or if it were because a lot of people wanted Rey to be Luke's kid or Leia's kid, thus making Reylo incestuous and disgusting to them. But it was a bit odd, usually you see people hating a ship in favour of another and the other ships featuring Rey didn't feel genuine, Kylo x Hux did, but it wasn't anywhere popular enough to be the driving force behind the Reylo hate.

I was a covert Reylo before The Last Jedi (after it, it was so obvious it would go some way, any way, that I didn't give a fuck anymore and started reblogging art). I remember there being the infamous user lesbianrey (a name that promises everything, since Rey's interactions with women are scarce) and others who would really be mean, and then the famous troll fic who gathered an insane amount of kudos? Honestly, I get that the ship wasn't liked, but it feels like bot/spamming friends was involved. I don't know. Anyway, I don't think Reylo is any more toxic than the average slash pairing set in a fantasy world Tumblr would have adored at that time, but Rey being a woman and Adam Driver being unconventionally looking had them in a frenzy. After TLJ the fandom started growing really fast and it felt like way less people gave a fuck about the shipping police.
In modern times, John Boyega is also kind of responsible (I remember it being on New Years? Mad), which really shows how dead his career has been.

This isn't exactly a question more me looking for advice. Sorry if this is the wrong thread.
I have never owned a pet but I have always wanted to. I also do have depression. I have read that lots of people with depression say that having a pet helped them. It gave them a routine and taking care of something living motivated them to improve their lives overall.
I really love animals so not only do I think a routine would be good for me I would also feel so happy having an animal around and make sure to do everything to give it the best care. I also don't have a social life so I have lots of times to take care of a pet.
But a part of me also feel like it's cruel to take the responsibility of another creature when I barely can take care of myself it is years long dedication after all. I'm terrified of neglecting the pet. So I guess my question is: Is it a good idea for mentally ill people to get pets?
not that anyone cares but I'm considering either getting indoor cats or Guinea pigs (not at the same time of course) because I love both and there are tons of them at my local shelter.Plus I have spend lot of time reading about cat care bur I need to research more about Guinea pig care if I decide to get them

Yes, get a cat. Their care is simple and you won't neglect them in any significant way as long as you always ensure they're fed and have water. Focusing on something besides yourself helps with depression, and kittens are fun and joyous. The only trouble is they can interrupt your sleep and ruin things by scratching, but the more effort you put into playing with and caring for them, the better adjusted they are.

Why is it that some people can't learn to behave in a group and then change who they are to fit in and do things that go against thier beliefs or standards? I'm not talking about teenagers, I'm talking about adults. Is it just the desire to fit in and having no self respect? Or is it because they don't know who they are? I know someone that does this constantly in any new job and sees her coworkers as friends. Is this just normal adult behavior?

Is it normal to not feel excited about your boyfriend/girlfriend after a while? Like you can go a few weeks without seeing them and be ok?
I read about how early passion "wears off" after the first year. We've been together for six years now, we've met each other's families and get along. We share a lot of the same interests and I like cuddling with him and watching movies at his place or going out. I just don't feel any strong feelings toward him at all. Am I supposed to?

Some maybe relevant info: I never went on dates or had a boyfriend until I was in my 20s (religious family, I'm 31 now), so I only understood relationships from books and shows I read. Moving away for college which gave me the chance to have a lot of casual relationships that lasted a year or less before I met him. I didn't really have friends until I went to college either, so I'm used to spending lots of time alone and I'm very comfortable with it.

I just wonder if I'm weird or something.

I don’t think it’s all that weird. 6 years is definitely enough time to where you two would be much more comfortable/stable. Not missing him after a few weeks might be weird but if you’re someone who values a lot of alone time it might not be super weird. Have you actually been apart in real life or are you just thinking hypothetically? Sometimes we can think we’d be fine in a situation but real life reactions might be much different.
If you do want the excitement back there’s a bunch of different things you two can do to bring back the romance. But it doesn’t sound like your relationship is bad at all, just naturally moving through different stages.

NTA, but skinhead subculture started in the 1960s and were working class Brits who had appreciation for reggae, ska, soul music and Jamaican Rude Boy culture. They were like Jamaicaboos. Then around the 1980's neonazis started to prey on some of the younger retarded kids and infiltrated the subculture, but by now they don't even dress or look like skinheads anymore. The nazis are generally called boneheads and the only thing they've got left from the skinhead look is the bald head. Nonracist skinheads call themselves SHARPS (skinheads against racial prejudice) or Trojans/trads (Trojan records is a big ska label), but the latter don't go fully bald (they look more like suedeheads really).

Tell your friend that you'd like to hang out but you're having a tough time so you may seem a bit under the weather sometime, though the friend shouldn't worry about that, and you need that outing to get some change of environment, basically make sure they know you want to be there even if you happen to cry. I’m super scared of driving but I need to because I’m nearing 30 and my family keeps complaining about giving me a ride to and from work. It’s a 60 min. commute to work and it’s all highway with many crashes happening often, like right now I’m gonna be super late to work because of a fatal accident and there’s only one lane open on the highway. My dad is bitching about it and I’m fucking tired. He exited the highway but it seems it’s worse on the frontage road.
So anyway, any tips for driving? I get distracted super easily and I have trouble staying awake (i fall asleep easily, sometimes even during work). I hate going over 40 and people here drive like shit. So many fucking car crashes every fucking day. But I seriously need to drive myself. Help?

> make sure no tired
> cold air on to help stay awake
> turn cell on silent so no distraction
> bring cd with music that will not be distracting and will help make you feel better. (Commercials on the radio trigger my anxiety)
> when you approach a stop light give yourself a cars length between you and the car in front that way if someone is pulling into your rear to fast you have room to move up
> give yourself an extra buffer of time so you won’t need to rush

I'm thinking of making a new email to make a YouTube account (both with a VPN) to upload gender critical videos both in English and my native language debunking troonism, hoping for them to go viral to spread the real facts and fight troon disinfo both in my country and hopefully in the entire world too. I'd explain my points in really simple terms that everybody, even people who aren't acquainted with troon terms can understand, as if I were explaining it to my mom, in the hopes that even some genderspecials are able to grasp the logic of why it's so bad, or at least make them question their own beliefs for a second. I'd explain some things from a radical feminist perspective (without saying it's feminist) such as porn and prostitution, and sex roles, when they're relevant. I'd use plenty of sources and examples like peaking material. Of course I wouldn't show my face or voice, I'd only make PowerPoint presentations and use some TTS software. My goal would ultimately be to make people aware of the trans lobby that's secretly pushing their agenda everywhere, and generate backlash against it.

But I'm too busy for that right now so I hope this idea serves as inspiration at least. Plus it would be better if a lot of anonymous gender critical people organized to create more content like this and help promote it through connections.

If you have your own computer and some privacy at home nobody will find out.

Nonny, NTA, but, like, you can't really decide for him whether or not he's denying himself happiness. Happiness isn't as simple as "be with person." Also there is literally 0 fixing mental problems in men. You will spend the rest of your life doing mental gymnastics for his various neuroses if he does magically come back and slowly wire your brain into obsessively trying to correct them as they come instead of seeing the big picture of your life. Moreover he might be a male but even males can have a few reasons for breaking up. And I know some women in general are socialized to overcompensate or read some astrology-tier deeper meaning into a guy's actions, but…just don't. It can be a slippery slope when you start depending on such narratives instead of just taking the visceral reality at face value. There is also a small chance he sent you mixed or deceptive messages about you, or his mental condition, which is something a lot of males absolutely do and it is a red flag.
Again, my condolences, though definitely step back for now. There is nothing you can do in order to force him or whatever.

This shit sometimes leaves a gf or ex confused or trying to work out things…then it turns out a guy is just being a shady, trying to keep his access to somebody while not truly being serious about them. Worst yet, it can be a form of hot/cold manipulation and usually creates anxious attachment in the other party which you are currently exhibiting.
Beware, please. And "giving him space" is a shady choice of words because this implies you will keep on orbiting him when you should be walking away and trying to shift your actions and thought patterns away from him.

also someone saying they have good intuition reminds me of someone calling themselves an empath t b h. It usually just turns out they are 10x more anal about their gut feeling - often one that is a coping mechanism more than anything else - but not actually more accurate about it. In one of my country's cable tv channels, there was a show in which a chef had to cook for a pick eater using ingerdients they didn't like and the chef would "win" if he managed to make a dish the pick eater would eat. The most common kind were men whose mothers still catered to their limited tastes, even tho it drived the rest of the family, including the spouses, crazy. There were often women who were picky eaters and their boyfriends/husbands thought it was cute for reasons beyond my understanding. So yeah, fair enough standard.

ayrt. im obviously an outlier in the neet sphere, but being isolated as a neet makes me motivated to improve and become a better person, to get fit and project my ideal self. I'm doing it all for myself and not to make appearances for others, and there isn't anyone to see me constantly fuck up or judge me. in isolation there is no social pressures wasting my time and energy so I can direct that energy toward myself. i am a neet because of extreme agoraphobia so it's not a cushy gap year situation, but even if its a rats nest of mental illness I'll likely be banished to live in my whole life, its a huge advantage and privelage to have all my free time to myself. I dont want to squander that by feeling sorry for myself and letting my depression sour my one boon. my depression isn't cured, i still have constant panic attacks, and I'm still dependant on people to survive, but im not becoming a moldy hunchback heap of self pity over time. i actually like myself as a person now, compared to years ago. I might feel for other neets succumbing to their depression and not being able to manage themselves, but I still don't think those kind of neets are viable partners.

Why hello, I’m fat, hello nice to meet you. farts
It depends. Some fat people eat past their fullness because the yumminess is tempting and we overestimate ourselves, teehee. I used to do that, but I stopped doing it, because I’ve noticed it makes me lethargic. No wonder I’m no more gaining weight. Some fatties have for no reason this painful pawn and think eating a lot will curb it. In my case it’s a spectrum, and I bet it’s for many fatties too. I wish I weren’t fat like you, anon. I noticed an obese friend of mine eats a lot because she's hungry at first and then it turns into pure gluttony and yes, she fully admits it. She also eats a lot because she's depressed and it helps, but I used to eat fat, greasy food whenever I felt depressed too but not nearly the same amounts. I don't know if it depends on people. Personally I'm skinny and when I'm hungry usually that means I'm really, genuinely hungry, but there are times when I have the same sensation despite not needing to eat, because I ate way too much the day before but I eat at the same times everyday and that sensation happens when these hours approach. I wonder if that's also what happens to obese people who claim to be hungry all the time, maybe it's just their body reacting because it's specifically the time when they get lunch or diner. I'm not sure I explained it well at all.

I think it depends on the person. If someone doesn't eat on impulse but rather simply eats bigger portions, then that would be them being used to more food and having stretched stomachs causing the feeling of fullness to come later than it should but they still stop when they feel full.
Then the other type of fatties, the one I used to be, use food as a sort of emotional and thought block. As a type of escapism. Thanks to eating and the fog you get after binging I didn't have to think about other stuff. I didn't care much about being full, in fact I'd say I felt full and in need of a 5 day fast all the time.

Considering you have to go through pretty extreme childhood trauma which forever makes you less of a human, emotionally impotent, so you have to cope by coming up with grandiose fantasies and have an inflated sense of self importance because nobody ever loved you so you have to do it yourself, I wouldn't actually wish this on other people (mostly women though, men don't deserve love), even if I think a lot of other people are very annoying and aren't necessarily better people than me just because they have affective empathy, since it doesn't prevent them from being massive fucking assholes.

I hate myself, I am anxious. I put myself down a lot. I can get jealous of shy people who are stronger than me, I do think “they’re so amazing that they can survive meanwhile I’m stressing about what a normie said to me in a thread, I should be like them”. I thought hiding the stuff I am good at would avoid being considered egoistical because I dislike bragging, but I didn’t know it’d mean the opposite in fact. Life of a loner, means I have to read and observe so much about social cues instead of just getting it. I didn’t want to be unpleasant. I thought that most women are depressed chronically, even when we achieve success because we believe that we’ve frauded. Life is full of traumas for most of us, if not all if we check rape statistics. I thought I was a traumatized loner but apparently I’m a covert narcissist with the exception of not having that one symptom and that is empathy for others. >I used to think I would grow into a dangerous person as a 19 year old like in the movies if I’d handle my own finances and live alone. Thank god I ended up just being dumb and bizarre.
To compare it to me, I am a dangerous person, but I already was before even entering puberty. I would steal, lie, scam, severely physically harm little scrotes my own age (they had it coming though and my intention was to do worse, but I was physically restrained). If anything I think I got less bad, because I had to learn how to restrain myself and hide those aspects about me, other wise I wouldn't be able to function in society at all.
>I don’t have self importance, I just want to improve myself to tell all the people who hurt my ass a big F, and maybe also just because I feel it’s right that for once a non-“normie” just has the last laugh. That’s my only fantasy.
I do have self importance, but it has grown out of extreme emotional deprivation and because whenever I was upset about the fact that I don't have a mother and at the time my father was nowhere to be seen either, people would always just tell me to focus on studying and that it was important that I would get good grades so I could become rich and if you're rich enough it doesn't matter that nobody loves you. They told this to a toddler. So I have always had to cope with fantasies in order to self soothe, since nobody could be fucked to give me a hug and say "I love you".
>I have noticed people just take a dump on me so I avoid people who give “bad vibes”. It just hurts to realize it makes me in fact an egoistical person who has no empathy and who can’t change.
This isn't egotistical, that's normal. Normal people avoid people who give off bad vibes. What would be egotistical though, is to avoid people who aren't useful to you.
>I feel their emotions and when someone is distressed for a good reason, like getting fired from a job, mistreatment etc… I cry along and I hate it because I’m scared it will make them think I just think of myself because it’s their problem, but it just happens automatically. (This actually happened) I don’t mock them, I just say stuff like “but your hair looks very beautiful”.
I personally can't feel with other people. I do see they are sad and if I have a reason to give a shit (I have a very schizo worldview in which I have to be very nice to women, because it screws over men and I love that) I will give the correct response. I will mimic the correct emotions for the situation and also offer kind words, or try to do things to cheer them up. It's just not out of an internal impulse from affective empathy or because I'm a kind person.
>Sometimes when someone is chronically lying to me and cries wolf again I don’t display any fucking emotion, because I’m too tired to pretend but when I have the energy I play along.
I just don't have many emotions, besides anger, emptiness and self pity. It's not that I'm hiding or repressing anything, maybe I am but I'm not doing it actively at least, it's just simply not there.
>>1375234
>Also sheer lack of knowledge could also make me look like an autist.
Oh yeah people think I'm just autistic. The reality is that I do understand social cues, I know what I have to do, but I will actively not do it if I don't have a reason for it. I let people think I'm autistic, because it means I can get away with being consistently rude to scrotes.
>pray I don’t faint or commit suicide at work because I constantly have flashbacks
Yeah that CPTSD diagnosis sounds about right! I personally don't internalize things like that, instead of wanting to off myself, it's more that I want to off others, scrotes. Which is a form of philosophical suicide, because I'd basically be ruining my life.
>Btw I have the diagnosis cptsd at the age of 16 and I have never been in therapy for it because of a lack of money. And it took me 10 years to accept my diagnosis. Thank you, I don't think that you sound sick. I've also heard women express concern and say anyone who is capable of such things, even to other bad people, is a bad person and I get their pov too. Neither is really wrong.
>you’ve been so empathetic to me and kind even though I’m just a dumbass stranger who’s manic, sperging dumbass who hasn’t bathed in 3 days, but you made me stop crying and I’m kind of laughing now.
Glad to hear! There's no reason to be mean to you, also you're funny and interesting. Plus it furthers my agenda if other women are more secure and strong. I don't just relentlessly abuse everyone in my path and sometimes manipulation can even be positive. Like memeing another woman into a better mood or better habits. Btw if you can't bring yourself to bathe, you can use a washcloth at least, something is better than nothing.

Is it possible to be anxious about something subconsciously? Yesterday before a big event I felt faint, had a tightness in my chest and my legs shook – so, usual panic attack symptoms – but in my head, consciously, I felt completely at ease about it. I had no thoughts accompanying the nerves, they were just there, when usually my mind races. I know it was due to the event because immediately after it these symptoms disappeared. Never had this happen to me before so just curious to know if it's a normal thing. Thanks

For me what was the most helpful in trying to eat healthy was just the very fact I'm trying to do something good for myself, showing I'm still capable of even a tiny bit of self care, which means I'm not giving up on life just yet

You're right, the anons saying no are retarded. I once talked a therapist into just giving me her study books to look into it and like the only way to get out of depression is just doing stuff (that is good for you), since it's almost like an advanced form of boredom rather than just sadness. So eating healthy food, even the process of cooking, just doing stuff that is good for you, does help. Of course it's not going to magically cure you or anything, but sitting in bed all day and ordering takeout is definitely going to make things worse. It's fake it till you make it, probably some cbt principle or something.

Ntayrt but what are other things you can do that is good for you?

It honestly was just a very long list of hobbies, activities, especially ones related to exercise, suggestions of things you can do outside of the house, volunteering, stuff to do with friends if you have those. Just anything to keep you doing stuff and a little out of your comfort zone, so you're not alone with your mind. Or actual self care, not the kind which Tumblr recommends where you sometimes still end up in bed or inside all day. It's mostly common sense stuff and it feels very condescending when a therapist tells you to do them, but that's because it really is just fake it till you make it. If you treat yourself better, the idea is that eventually your thoughts will get better too and that should result in you feeling better. I think you can find similar lists in English if you look for CBT workbooks.

I'll add to what other anon said, for starters the smallest actions are enough; clean the space around you, go out just for a short walk, do a few easy exercises along with some youtube video, things like that.
But of course it's important to remember that sometimes depression is so deep that one may need an outside help, pharmacological or therapeutic; and telling someone clinically depressed to just go out and eat well - even if that would be beneficial - wont help.

I grew up obese (yes I was shaped like a seal as a baby) and dropped down to a normalish bmi in late college. I also managed to lose 3 pounds this month without really trying which would have been absolutely unheard of for me back in the day. Not too long ago I kept getting these painful impulses to binge that just consumed me….it felt like a drug withdrawal ffs. And it was hard, but I found that if I sat through the impulse, they tended to fade away…so did the hunger. I just know that when I binged, I never felt full. I often felt full maybe…an hour afterwards? Oh. Also, it helped a lot that I tended to never chew food and just swallowed everything like a starving Peligan. Fixing that and making it more annoying to consume huge quantities helped–so did making it hard for me to eat yummy things, intermittent fasting, and trying to get more in touch with my body.

Your stomach is bigger when you are used to bigger portion sizes, so it takes a lot more food to make you feel full. You just get used to eating more.

Also, your gut microbiome molds to the food you eat. The more greasy, carb-filled food you eat, the more the microbes that love that food too will multiply and send stronger signals to your brain to eat that kind of food.

Hey farmers, oddly specific and unrelatable question here.

I'm scared to invite a girl over (as in a friends way), because I got bullied in lower school (i was an absolute fookin sperg), so I always think girls have bad/underhanded intentions and for some reason most of the only friendships with other girls in school ended up having romantic undertones, if not leading to a bit of cheeky tickle time (which they often initiated). But I'm trying not to be a gay thot. I know no one is forcing me to do it, but I have an odd fear that it will happen yk? 2/3 times of going to a girl's house/vice versa has ended this way. So is it normal to be scared to compliment another girl, or paranoid about coming off as gay? If I am now a known homo, does inviting a straight girl over come off as flirtatious, a predatory lesbo behaviour? Because I'm trying not to do that. What do normal girls do when they go to each other's houses? I just want to be friends with her, she seems kind and interesting. What do normal 18 going on 19 year old girls do? Please help.

The same can be said for very, very mentally ill people. Although there are a lot of fakers and wierd attention whores, you can tell that some people are truly fucked based on brain scans. A fun rabbit whole to go down is look at brain activity levels for those with schizophrenia vs no schizophrenia. A lot of mentally ill people have shrunken amygdala from brain damage.
The real problem is we're in the baby years of neurology, and we can't tell very easily whose faking mental illness and who's actually nutso easily. Scans can be costly, and interpreting results confusing.
Anyway tldr I'm a Neuro-fag and when you observe the brain of mentally fucked people you can see differences in them.

The bat came flying downstairs around the back door, flied to the living room and then back to the back door. Them I couldn't find it anymore. So I went upstairs looking for it, and I couldn't see it flying or on the walls in my room or the other part of the house. I searched in my room again but this time I moved my clothes and checked on shelves, in boxes and under my bed. I can't find it and I don't hear any strange sounds. What are the chances that it found its way out? I'm really scared, I don't want to die of rabies. So I'm much more calm now, especially after reading that rabies infection through air is practically impossible except in special situations such as being in a cave full of infected bats and breathing that air. And even then most bats aren't rabid.
If I wake up to find the bat flying around in my room I'll be sure to get the PEP as soon as possible, though. Preferable after capturing it and getting it tested for rabies.

>As their conditions grow worse and worse, and with the increase of children the woman grows despondent, miserable, dissatisfied and weak. Her beauty soon leaves her, and from hard work, sleepless nights, worry about the little ones and disagreement and quarrels with her husband, she soon becomes a physical wreck and curses the moment that made her a poor man's wife. Such a dreary, miserable life is certainly not inclined to maintain love or respect for each other. The man can at least forget his misery in the company of a few friends; he can absorb himself in politics, or he can drown his misfortune in a glass of beer. The woman is chained to the house by a thousand duties; she cannot, like her husband, enjoy some recreation because she either has no means for it, or she is refused the same rights as her husband, by public opinion. She has to carry the cross with her until death, because our marriage laws know of no mercy, unless she wishes to lay bare her married life before the critical eye of Mrs. Grundy, and even then she can only break the chains which tie her to the man she hates if she takes all the blame on her own shoulders, and if she has energy enough to stand before the world disgraced for the rest of her life. How many have the courage to do that? Very few. Only now and then it comes like a flash of lightning that some woman, like the Princess De Chimay, has had pluck enough to break the conventional barriers and follow her heart's desire. But this exception is a wealthy woman, dependent upon no one. The poor woman has to consider her little ones; she is less fortunate than her rich sister, and yet the woman who remains in bondage is called respectable: never mind if her whole life is a long chain of lies, deceit and treachery, she yet dares to look down with disgust upon her sisters who have been forced by society to sell their charms and affections on the street. No matter how poor, how miserable a married woman may be, she will yet think herself above the other, whom she calls a prostitute, who is an outcast, hated and despised by everyone, even those who do not hesitate to buy her embrace, look upon the poor wretch as a necessary evil, and some goody goody people even suggest to confine this evil to one district in New York, in order to "purify" all other districts of the city. What a farce! The reformers might as well demand that all the married inhabitants of New York be driven out because they certainly do not stand morally higher than the street woman. The sole difference between her and the married woman is, that the one has sold herself into chattel slavery during life, for a home or a title, and the other one sells herself for the length of time she desires; she has the right to choose the man she bestowes her affections upon, whereas the married woman has no right whatsoever; she must submit to the embrace of her lord, no matter how lothsome this embrace may be to her, she must obey his commands; she has to bear him children, even at the cost of her own strength and health; in a word, she prostitutes herself every hour, every day of her life. I can find no other name for the horrid, humiliating and degrading condition of my married sisters than prostitution of the worst kind, with the only exception that the one is legal, the other illegal.
>I cannot deal with the few exceptional cases of marriage which are based on love, esteem and respect; these exceptions only verify the rule. But whether legal or illegal, prostitution in any form is unnatural, hurtful and despicable, and I know only too well that the conditions cannot be changed until this infernal system is abolished, but I also know that it is not only the economic dependence of women which has caused her enslavement, but also her ignorance and prejudice, and I also know that many of my sisters could be made free even now, were it not for our marriage institutions which keep them in ignorance, stupidity and prejudice. I therefore consider it my greatest duty to denounce marriage, not only the old form, but the so-called modern marriage, the idea of taking a wife and housekeeper, the idea of private possession of one sex by the other. I demand the independence of woman; her right to support herself; to live for herself; to love whomever she pleases, or as many as she pleases. I demand freedom for both sexes, freedom of action, freedom in love and freedom in motherhood.

I'm all for women still working if they can (a several year long gap in employment can really fuck you over if you split later and even most marriages will end) but people who concentrate on the sexual aspect and call them prostitutes and bangmaids just sound like pervs who get off on the wording of it. We all fuck the person we're dating. Working or not.. dating means sex is happening either way.

>In the summer of 2017, Jenny Teeson made a horrifying discovery.
>Teeson, who had begun divorce proceedings from her husband of 12 years in Minnesota, was looking through files from their shared laptop when she discovered photos and videos of her husband raping her while she was unconscious. Teeson's husband had been drugging her with his prescription sleeping medication and then assaulting her — and she had no idea.
>All of the sudden, things started to make sense. Teeson said she remembers waking up many times in the morning feeling lethargic and disoriented but had no idea why. She had even gone to the doctor to try to figure out what was wrong.
>"When I found these videos, I was in utter shock, but then it all clicked. I now knew what had been happening and why I had been feeling so disoriented when I woke up. "
>Teeson's now ex-husband was initially charged with a felony — third degree criminal sexual conduct — but the charges were dropped the same day. Due to a legal loophole in Minnesota's law at that time, raping your incapacitated spouse was not illegal if you were married or cohabitating at the time of the offense.
>"If I wasn't his wife or cohabitating with him when he raped me, the felony charges would have stayed, but since I was … the state didn't consider my rapes illegal. A rapist is not always a violent stranger. It can happen to you right in your own bed," Teeson said.
>Teeson's ex-husband was never prosecuted for the felony rape charge due to this loophole, but he was charged with two misdemeanors — criminal sexual conduct in the fifth degree, which was later dismissed, and interfering with privacy in the home — for which he took a plea deal and served just 29 days in jail.
>These legal loopholes surrounding marital rape are not uncommon. Many states have exceptions when it comes to spousal rape. Although marital rape is technically illegal in the United States, some states' archaic laws exclude situations where a spouse is unable to consent because they are incapacitated. Incredibly, even if their partner drugged them, it's not considered "forcible" and, therefore, is not a criminal offense.
Legal marital rape is still a thing in the US btw. So yeah married women don't get to choose at all, meanwhile an unmarried woman could have a shot at the charges sticking.

I wasn't considered ugly by anyone really. People assumed im from whatever brown population is notable in the area. When I would go to my country, people assume im a tourist as well. So I asked my parents if I am adopted or a baby out of infidelity. My mom gets upset and only sometimes says no, usually she just ignores the question. My father cheated a lot with several women and had other children. I'm not mixed, but I get treated racially ambiguous even though I think I literally look like where I am from. Sorry for the scrotey post. My nipples are hard like 95% of my life. Not just kind of hard but SO hard they feel like the erasers on the backs of pencils. They won't calm down and it doesn't matter if it's hot or cold. They only time they 'relax' is when I'm in the middle of my period or I'm sick. In my profession I see a lot of nude bodies and realized most womens nipples are usually soft by default, lol. It's obviously not a huge issue but I really prefer how my breasts look and feel when the nipple is 'soft', plus I don't have to worry about bras as much. Women understand the concept of community and the use of a state and aren't as immediately mesmerized by the false promises of free-market capitalism that the righty moids are so invested in (we have a naturally acquired understanding of the exploitation required to keep that system going). If you're in the US you may be sensing centrism because there is often not functionally a huge difference between the dominant "left" and "right" parties in the US so everyones ideas are all mashed together and a big mess and there's a bigger class divide than people often think about. Also being a TERF is considered a right wing thing but if you read around the site there is no issue with gender-non-conformism or things of that nature that get rejected in right wing spaces, there is an issue with men pretending they are biological women

Left but not the retarded kind that is adopted by those looking to exploit. Like anons have said, a lot of users are lesbians and all are women from varying races and wealth brackets so we all have at least some understanding of the system we live in and it’s reliance on exploitation especially of women, and because of that and the understanding of historical sexism, we also reject transgender ideology which suggests oppression is basically a costume. >250 ml water
>Salt and pepper
>100 g approx. pomegranate seeds
>Juice of 1 lemon
>A little parsley, for garnishing
>1 Halve the aubergines, place in a generous amount of salted water and steep for half an hour.
>2 Sweat the onions in a pan with some oil until transparent and add the garlic.
>3 Add the walnuts and pomegranate syrup to the saucepan and slowly bring to the boil with the water.
>4 Season to taste with salt and pepper and simmer on a low heat for 45 minutes, stirring regularly.
>5 Add the pomegranate seeds and continue to simmer for another 15 minutes, stirring constantly.
>6 Remove the aubergines from the water and wipe well with a clean cloth.
>7 Cut into each aubergine flesh twice lengthways and sauté in a heated frying pan for 2-3 minutes on each side.
>8 Add the lemon juice to the pomegranate and walnut mixture, and spread on the aubergines. Serve with pomegranate seeds and a little parsley as a garnish.
Ime you don't actually have to cook it for 45 minutes if you don't use as much water and the pomegranate syrup can be swapped out for a different kind if you can't find it.

Hi nonnies…can I get some advice about blood tests and maybe alternative ways of getting extensive ones done?  Look. I am tired. My doctor hasn't been good. It took 6 months for a phone appointment and he basically cut me off in middle of me requesting a specific vitamin I wanted to test for with a "ok, got it, you want labs done, bye" and hung up…it was supposed to be a 20 minute appointment. 4 minutes lapsed and I had probably only spoken a few words because he was talking most of the time. He only ended up getting my basic blood work done (cholesterol, lipids, etc).
I convinced myself it was nothing. Months later my sleep specialist ordered what I had wanted done on a whim because he was very worried about one of my symptoms  and turned out I did have a severe deficiency that had been wrecking me for a few months and…that wasn't the only time either. Ffs, I found out I had a genetic disease years late because of similar issues. There has to be a better way to check up on my health.

If you're an undergraduate, you do not have the bachelor's degree yet. If someone is in community college, they can still be pursuing a bachelor's after because the credits transfer over. Even if youre not doing that, still you're technically an undergrad, because you havent graduated with the bachelor's. Now if you describe yourself as an undergrad when you know youre getting a vocational certificate or something I'd say youre misleading people. So it kind of depends on what. I don't see how oversized flannel from women section would be any different from a regular flannel from men section honestly. seconding this nonna, haven't really had much trouble with men's flannels, but I'm nearly flat. The sleeve length is usually not an issue either. It can also look a bit awkward at the bottom maybe though if you have bigger hips, since there's less room. Men's garments are constructed differently even when oversized (though the difference is more glaring on a man wearing women's clothes than vice versa). It might be noticeable in the shoulders (broader and less rounded for men's clothing even when oversized). I say just try a couple on in-store.

A lot of the stuff that was wrong with me I never knew until boys (and men in college) pointed them out. My height, my natural hair texture, the wobbly shape of my legs, my meaty, long arms. Apparently these were "ugly" to guys and I hadn't even thought they were a problem. Oh. I never dated nor touched a guy–these were complete strangers. Ok but what really distinguishes anorexia from someone who wants to be skinny. I know that sounds dumb but that's why I'm posting it here. Like is it the starvation aspect? I think the difference between anorexia and being nutrition obsessed becomes very obvious over a short period of time. Anorexics are pretty easy to spot after they’ve been at it for awhile. There’s all those weird little subgroups of women with EDs but out of all of them anorexia is by far the most apparent, especially with bulimic subtype. You may not necessarily be able to tell someone with an eating disorder from the average fit person but you most definitely can tell a practicing anorexic from most others over a certain period of time. They also tend to be so secretive about it as opposed to crash dieters and those ~quirky~ girls who make their “ED” their entire personality and their whole sense of humor/identity revolves around it obnoxiously.

Were women more masculine bodied on average in previous decades or has the beauty standard just shifted? I see wider ribcages and more androgynous faces in women from decades ago and feel like if they existed today they'd get clocked as a troon. Can't tell if there's something in the water now or there's just more photoshop and plastic surgery. I'm wider in the chest so seeing women like this makes me feel like less of a freak.

Is moving on from a year-long relationship (actually 13 months) after 5 months normal? I was the one who got dumped, if that matters. I was miserable and felt almost suicidal until about two weeks ago, one day I just felt fine and wasn't really thinking about my ex as much anymore. Now I'm talking to a new guy and planning to meet him next weekend. I'm just worried I haven't actually moved on and this is just my brain playing tricks on me? But at the same time I definitely feel completely different compared to how I felt last month, I don't wake up thinking about my ex anymore. I did plenty of journaling, reflection, and processing, though, so maybe I'm just shocked by how much better I feel?

I think you can see the biggest difference when you look at working class women of the past and I think it has to do with physical activity somehow. We're a lot more sedentary now, a lot of things are more convenient, women rarely do manual labor in the western world anymore. Meanwhile in the past everyone was a farmer and doing the laundry took all day. I rarely see women shaped like me, irl nor online. I've complained to my friend about it, an EE immigrant and she ended up showing me old Soviet posters and saying I just look like women from that time kek.

They're not "masculine" per say, I would barely even consider that woman's ribcage wide or her face masculine. If you look at more candid photos instead of ones that are strategically posed, with flattering lighting and the use of filters and photoshop you realize how many women barely look ultra feminine irl. Hell I can completely go from dumpy and flat chested to fit big titty beer waitress just with the right angle. I can go from mug shot crackhead to glamor model just with the right angle. Not even exaggerating. Back then the process of taking a picture was so hard that if it was taken then it was taken, you can't just take a million ones to find the right angle. Imagine if every woman had her worst pics posted then we wouldn't be having this conversation

You'd be damn surprised at how the slightest wrong angle at the wrong time can completely make or break ones appearance. With modern technology we have the privilege of taking multiple pictures to find the angle that gives us the most feminine face, the most curvy but skinny body, etc. I'd probably even argue that a lot of women are getting more androgynous due to obesity and/or anorexia or bulimia in their developing years or simply just losing their ability to make female hormones naturally due to constant hormones being pumped in our food and birth control being pushed on us as soon as we have periods

Yeah I lift too? My point is that even before I lifted, even when I was a kid, I was always told I was big boned. Not in the sense of fat, because I was often more on the underweight side, but literally just big. It felt very alienating and upsetting that I have to look at women from the past to even relate to anyone. Even other women who got into powerlifting, yeah they are muscular, but that is still on top of a smaller frame than mine. The only thing I'm insecure about is that I feel alone and that nobody gives a fuck how much I lift or how physically capable I am in the end. They only give a shit about whether you'd look nice in make-up and a fucking dress and if you say you don't, they think you're just being hard on yourself, instead of that you literally don't even want to. Even in the female (kick)boxer community women insist on performing hyperfemininity almost to "make up" for their sport and insist they're still feminine in other ways, to not get shunned by society. There's a reason someone like Rose Namajunas stood out for shaving her fucking head for her sport. Pointing to those communities as some sort of beacon of accepting nonconforming bodies and ways of presenting yourself, isn't doing anything other than proving my point that society sees women as losers unless you fall over yourself to prove how you're still a feminine uwu princess somehow and that if you say you're not, you're just hard on yourself and can't possibly be proud of some shit about you.

Wondering if I could get away with wearing the costume for the park since it's basically goth clothing? Only thing that would stand out is the blonde wig I'm guessing.

Would I be risking it too much if I wear the wig and put a jacket on top?

I've never been there but they don't allow costumes in Universal Horror Nights either and I've seen people in cosplay (I also went as Jules from Pulp Fiction last year lol). french models tend to have wavy dirty blonde hair and pouty lips (Brigitte Bardot, Thylane Blondeau) and be very typically "beautiful". sometimes there's a focus on looking youthful (a sexy baby face type) which is not unique to french models but somehow seems creepier on them imo, so if you're in an age gap relationship and you're the young one he might be being creepy.

If you're in the US: We don't have healthcare but there are some Health Centers that will look at you for free if you're poor, or they'll have a sliding fee scale, especially for things like preventative checkups/primary care and reproductive health.

search for health centers here: https://findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov/

government site where I found that link: https://www.hhs.gov/answers/health-insurance-reform/where-can-i-find-free-or-low-cost-health-care/index.html

I used these in my early 20s in a couple different states, once to get a regular checkup and once because I got a UTI and needed antibiotics. I did not pay anything either time but I was making <12k year so I was basically at the bottom of the sliding scale.

It depends. Prion disease is something to worry about, but not guaranteed to happen. Of course there are the regular bloodborne illnesses, viruses and all the stuff you usually have to worry about with meat. NVM that humans ingest a lot of junk and meds, good luck finding "organic". There are tribes which are adapted to cannibalism though
>For a people that presumably has practiced mortuary cannibalism for years, it’s surprising the Fore didn’t die out earlier. Kuru takes up to 20 years to develop, says Volker, but the Fore people’s resilience to the dangers of human-eating could also be chalked up to genetics. Earlier this year, a study in Nature described the discovery of a “prion resistance gene” that was prevalent in the Fore population, theorizing that evolutionary processes naturally selected for individuals whose genes allowed them to withstand the dangers of eating brains.
So don't try it at home!

Depending on the body parts eaten, a cannibal can get a very specific prion disease (kinda like the mad cow disease) that's very hard to spell for me right now. I think it's the brain and the heart. Some people in an island had a very high number of people with that disease because they eat dead people as part of a ritual and the number decreased fast as soon as they changed their diet to what we have now. In the 70s or 80s kids who were treated with growth hormone treatments to avoid pituitary dwarfism could get that same disease because at the time the hormones were extracted from human corpses, as opposed to now because they use synthetic hormones now.

What do you think is up with my friend nonnas?
She was my best and closest friend in teenage years, we drifted apart a bit when I had to move to a different city but I've always put the effort to stay in touch and meet up every time I came back to our hometown. She rarely ever messages me but said it's because she just doesn't like messaging, which is fine - though when she stayed at my place recently most of the time she spent on her phone texting her other friend (that she told me she doesn't have much in common with and often complained how selfish that friend is) and her sister. Once I found out she actually spend a whole two months in my city (some stationary course her employer had her take) and didn't even tell me that until she was back in our hometown. All this would make you think she doesn't actually like me that much, right? But then, when I didn't meet up with her once when I visited my parents and she found out, she was really upset with me; and then some other time when I did meet her she actually cried seeing me and said that she misses me a lot. At that point I thought that maybe something changed with her but the moment I left and tried keeping in touch by messaging her she'd leave me on read for weeks and respond with few words and most often just a single emoji.
I'm just so, so confused by these mixed signals, someone please help me make sense out of it.

Why is it that only significantly older men seem to like me? They'll talk and at times leer at me, (ew) while men my age (19-24) don't even seem interested in looking into my general direction. I feel like an old lady. Do any other nonnas here have similar experiences?

Do you look and/or act childlish? That's often the reason unfortunately

Not at all. While it's difficult to judge just how old I look, I'd say I look my age. And I'm often alone and staying quiet when I'm noticed by the creepy geezers.

When conspiracy theory people claim that Jesus had children, is that blasphemy?

So maybe it's because you're alone and withdrawn the creeps see you as some sort of an easier target? I've only ever had older scrotes try to talk to me in situations when I was alone and in a bad mood, usual stuff like "you need to smile young lady" and so; that could be a thing here too I imagine?

depending on who you ask but i don't think so. blasphemy is more about denying or bad-mouthing things regarded as sacrum, for example if a catholic said god won't help humanity. jesus was an actual person so discussing his mortal life wouldn't fall under that. ofc if you asked a religious fanatic you might get a different answer.

Is taking Plan B a bunch of times really bad for my body? My boyfriend and I are retarded and I had to take it 3 times in the last month or so. I won't do it anymore, I'm just wondering if I'm going to be like infertile or something from this

I have had much stress the past 2 months and I feel very overwhelmed, I need a creative outlet but can't seem to draw or paint anything. Any tips on how to air out your emotions? I don't feel a specific way, just a bit burnt out which makes it much harder to put my feelings into paintings or writing which has always been my outlet.

Was the clubbing era of 2009-2011 really that big and crazy?
Because looking at media from that time it all seems to be focused on partying or clubbing.

So im wondering if clubs back then were crazy or fun or was it just the way it was shown in the media.
