I'm not western/European, and I never celebrated any western holidays, and where I live, they don't celebrate these either. But recently, I've been lamenting my existence regarding this. I really want to have that sense of community in a neighborhood or with friends and family where we celebrate different holidays together, make delicious food specific to these occasions and seasons, share it together and have a good time. I wish I was normal and born somewhere normal so I can experience this. This stuff doesn't exist where I come from and the only 2 holidays are boring and uneventful, we never celebrate them with anyone until last year when we had really close family members visiting who wanted to start a tradition of it, and that was the first time I ever experienced that stuff. We didn't eat a big meal together though, we didn't hang out properly somewhere nice either, we just had tea and coffee and some snacks, chatted a little, then they left. I have a personal lolcow that I've been keeping tabs on for years. She used to be a part of my best friend's anime community in their little town and she has always had an absolutely unabashed amount of narcissism, and had a habit of starting shit but act like a victim over it which caused her to have a really bad rep. She looks like PT's younger cousin, her art was almost Chris-chan tier, and an absolutely awful screeching singing voice. But she considered herself an undiscovered genius on all these things, refused to take even the softest criticism to help her with her art (her absolute freak outs over getting even the kindest feedback was what made me pay attention to her kek) and would make her own fanpages for herself.
She disappeared for a few years and seemed to have settled for a normal life, but has now come back to the scene more confident than ever. She was recently at some pony convention where she sold her awful art as prints and stickers among some other crafts (ex. just random stuff from temu she put on a ribbon with a chain), and of course didn't even break even. But honestly? While I still consider her hijinks absolutely hilarious I'm kinda envious of her confidence. If she has the balls to sell her art, I should have the confidence to start painting again. She claims she tested negative for autism (doubt), but autism or nah her self-love is honestly a little inspiring

I used to vent here about my LDR and e-relationships for years but recently I've been dating IRL but it goes nowhere, going on my third first date this month tomorrow fingers crossed, he seems like a guy I could date.

Since I've been using mom's really old, barely functioning tablet to read books this summer she's been obsessed with the thought of getting me a new one since this old one is hanging by a thread. Already tried to explain to her that I have a pc I barely use, a laptop (and an older one as backup in case something happens to this one since I also use it for uni) and a smartphone, I really don't need ANOTHER type of computer - especially one that I wouldn't know what to do with except reading books. If I want a kindle I can get one once this old tablet officially kicks the bucket, but it serves it's one and only purpose just fine at the moment.
Today she surprised me with a new tablet anyway, I don't have time to set it up at the moment but now I have to figure out what to do with it except reading so I don't feel bad about receiving it. Been considering maybe getting some art program so I have a motivation to pick up sketching again… any nonnies know what else you can use a tablet for? It's a Nokia T20 tablet so it most likely can't handle anything too powerful

There’s this cute little cat with gorgeous white fur that’s always outside, it’s pretty friendly so I don’t think it’s a stray but it doesn’t have any proper collar on and looks fairly clean. It always follows my mom whenever she goes outside and tries to go inside with her. I saw it today while taking the trash out and it’s so adorable it almost warms my cold, icy heart seeing it run around and go on little adventures. Picrel is the beautiful kitty. I just got my fugly 2020 microblading lazered off and am so happy!! By some kind of miracle, everything disappeared in one session and I have my old, sparse brows back and I love them so much. Nonas, never get your brows microbladed. They looked alright at first, but the shape was completely off and made my face look harsh and angry, and the color faded from a soft light brown to a disgusting grayish blue blobby color.

Today I found out that one of my best friends from high school who helped me a lot (when I was from a shit family), has a job working at a funeral home. I'm pretty bad at keeping in touch with people and I guess she has been working there for a while. Anyways, I just wanted to say I think that job really suits her, she was always so kind and compassionate to me, even back in high school. A family health crisis saw all me and my siblings back home with our parents and we all have cats that came with us. Some of them are the off spring of other cats in the house and others grew up together so 80% are acclimatized to each other and the others are sectioned off (it’s a giant house).
My big boy is brand new, never met any of the others and he is super brave and curious about everything. These are the first cats he has seen face to face and it’s always so funny to watch them work out what to do.
The littlest girl cat always hisses at him before running away and he couldn’t give a shit! But the old-enough-to-drink grandpa (who is blind) can just be laying there and my boy will sniff him and run the fuck away to hide. The mama cat loves me because I always pick her up and snuggle her so she’ll follow me into my room, which is big boy territory, and she ignores him while he huffs and puffs up. It’s silly. I think he wants to snuggle and play with the other cats but he’s just so socially awkward.
No fighting though because all the family cats are comfortable in their territory claims. We have some adoptee kittens whose forever homes fell through and they’ll fight any and everyone. They get the whole basement though and the patio schedule is working out well for everyone (except mama cat who could live outside if we let her).

I’ve had success taking my lunches with a stray, she knew when do show up for my lunch breaks and eventually she started laying by me and ended up in my lap at the end. I was able to take her to the vet and adopt her out. Mama cat was a stray too and my little boy cat (who passed before I got my big boy) was a stray but he loooooved attention (it was clear he’d been abandoned) and would come for pets and cuddles (he was so sweet the neighborhood kids were able to give him a bath with no issues).
It’s just persistence if your goal is to interact.

I love my cat he’s so friendly, sweet, and affectionate. He has a spot in my office that he sits and naps in while I work, but he always wants to be pet for reassurance before he settles down. I got an electric heating pad for him and he’s really enjoyed having it on while watching the squirrels out the window. He can’t really hunt the most he’s ever done is bring me dead leaves from my houseplants. He looks like picrel
