For the nonnies who kept asking for a Calli threadpic.
>>431411Compared to Advent where I had a lot of initial interest but couldn't get into any of them, I was totally lukewarm to Justice when they debuted but they all grew on me over time. I think Cece is the only one I don't watch a lot of but even then I think she's still a good addition to Holo.
Raora unexpectedly really funny, and Liz has evidently been a huge hit with the female fanbase, aside from the sheer vocal talent she brings.
But Gigi was the big surprise for me. I was super turned off by both her model and her debut but she's my favorite in the gen now and likely my second favorite in EN after my oshi. I love how fun she is and the way she seems to get along with just about anybody. Several members of EN have admitted to being obsessed with her and I can totally see why.

Hello nonas.
Apologies for the incoming autism as this has become somewhat of a fixation but I also wanted to ask if any other US anons engaged with the Round1 x Hololive collab? I was quite honestly really put off by the first and second “waves” of the promotion, first a $50 holo towel only available for purchase if you buy $50 of game credits, and second a free keychain with a $120 game credit purchase, so I only went for the plush promotion.
They only had Fuwamoco, Gura, Fubuki, Ina, Okayu, and IryS. I went on opening day of the plush promo to my semi rural local Round1 and was DISGUSTED buy the coomers who attended en mass and swarmed the fuwamoco machines.
Each plush machine was locked to hit payout, so you had to play a lot in order to guarantee a plush. When I tell you these neckbeards would load 15+ games on a machine, not get the plush, walk away, buy another $100 in credits and go to a different machine. Appalled. I got my Gura, Okayu, Fubuki, (and fuwamoco after i saw people are selling them for $200) and left grossed out. I am excited for the January wave of all JP plush though.

>>437191>>437211Highly curious. I don't closely follow Aqua, Fauna, or Chloe, but as far as I knew, they were hardworking and had consistent stream output, unlike Gura or Ame who'd be more obvious choices for graduation.
Ofc no job is perfect but they literally got to play video games and make 6 figures a year. Something pretty wrong must be happening.
I feel bad but simultaneously I am ready for the shitstorm.
No. 437235
>>437230>literally got to play video games Like it's not just that. They have meetings, emails to follow up on inane shit, restrictions about what they can play because of Japanese copyright laws, work trips to Japan and idol stuff like concerts to work on.
If they can leave and take their fanbase with them and not have to deal with all the corpo shit on top of Cover taking (last I heard) a third of their donos, I'm surprised that more don't jump ship once they pump their numbers up. Kson is doing pretty well since leaving.
No. 437238
>>437235I'm sure that stuff is hard and annoying, especially if any of the talents are getting older and hoping to settle down and travel less. But I would still counter that there's not that many careers you can do full-time from home (outside from work trips) for 6 figures AND no formal education.
But tbh vtubing has been on the downswing for a while now. The writing might be on the wall. Aside from going indie, I don't think any talents would be insane if they wanted to go get a college degree or some type of formal job training.
>>437234Regardless of how you feel about randon (personally haven't followed him since he left holo) I think the clip seems fair. Sounds like what basically everyone in hololive alludes to, they just can't come out and say it as clearly as he can.

>>437379I wonder if some of the growing discontent with Holo EN/Holostars EN came from covid vs. post-covid expectations.
For HoloMyth, I imagine it was a pretty cush job - I don't think any of them were traveling back then. No expectation to fly to Japan multiple times a year to film concerts. Probably a few online meetings a week but otherwise, sit there and game.
I wonder if some other talents signed up, thinking they'd have that experience and it could even be a side job (like Sana doing it secondary to gacha artwork) but then expectations began to quickly change.
Being a full-time college student and streaming and having meetings a few times a week would be busy, but doable. But throw dance lessons and regular international travel plans into the mix, and it becomes way more complicated.
Rrats?
No. 437383
>>437379I don't think it's an issue, at least with Cover. We've had multiple talents pursue higher education and all have been allowed to take long breaks if they feel it's needed.
It was in menshi, but Kiara also stated today that the issue isn't necessarily the workload as, again, they're allowed to opt out of almost any event, the only thing she wasn't sure about was Fes. Not that she claimed there wasn't a
valid mangement based issue for talent complaints– she said there are multiple factors, in fact.
She wasn't able to get very specific but TLDR she said that the job, while having a heavy workload, is a relatively easy one for the high income they receive. But she also said that there are factors beyond those when it comes to leaving a job.

Time to doompost? I got shamed for it last time…>>437224
>>437299>>437380Comments on the linked YT video suggest Korean capitalism. I didn't know dance lessons were involved. If the talents have to pay for then it is that gets deducted, that's already a no.
Plus, they've realized that there's groundwork already done by people who recently went indie like Dokibird & Mint. Even Sayu. They'll never be broke.
Regardless of whether or not Hololive is neglecting them support offer whether it not the flights, lessons etc are a concern, they now know they don't need the company.
Plus, they are more than a few indies who are doing great thanks to having their own staff. Earlier it was Shylily and Shoto. Maybe a few ex- VShojo members like Nyanners. Now, even ex-Niji and ex-Holo members are finding their own footing. In terms of collabs, they get more options in the form of former co-workers. It'll probably be the same vibe but without a company taking money.
I guess the question is whether fans liked their personalities or just models.
No. 438372
>>438209If you're who you sound like you are, you didn't get shamed for doomposting. You got shamed for throwing random spaghetti at a wall to see what stuck while getting basic facts about the talents involved incorrect.
But that's beside the point. I'd agree that the past year has made indie vtubing a provably sustainable route for those who have an established fanbase but are unhappy with management. "Build a strong fanbase with corpo platform" -> "go indie and take full profit" has been the obvious emerging meta for a while now, though, even prior to the Dokibird situation this year.

>>438562Vtuber models are simply a means for people to stream without their human faces. KSon had one for just the face (not shoulders) for when she didn't wanna do makeup. Ironmouse said she used a model so people wouldn't see a sick person.
Utaite like nqrse, eve, etc have used it at one point or another.
If you look for old clips of VAs, they frequently have only audio and the image of the character they're playing. That's partially why Mikeneko didn't really have an issue there. VAs don't need to do face cam and some actively hide their faces so as to "not ruin immersion".
Even mangaka like Aka Akasaka and producers like Kanaria have Vtuber models. Shigure Ui is also a mangaka and I'm sure you've heard her famous song.
Point is, it's just a medium. Anyone who can afford a model can become a Vtuber.

>>439715The noteworthy thing here is the uneven application of punishment for leaking. Back during the Raziel statement, it was abundantly clear that Luca had been the source of several past leaks, but Niji never so much as acknowledged the fact. It's odd that they're now making a point to say they're investigating unauthorized leaking. It seems leaking is not an issue when one of their big males does it repeatedly on the issue of internal drama and major upcoming events such as 3D, but DOES constitute and issue when a woman feels compelled to speak on sexual harrassment.
TLDR: given NijiEN's past treatment of confirmed leaks, it's reasonable to be suspect they're only mentioning a leaker in order to have somebody take the fall for the situation. Even if this doesn't happen, it's further evidence of favoritism from management.

I really can't put a finger on why Ruze's outfit was such a miss for me… His mama is my favorite artist out of the four but the outfit just looks bad as a Live2D and the hair really does not suit his face? I get he wanted long hair but this particular style is not it. Jurard is whatever, I don't care in either direction.
All four outfits looked like they were high effort/budget though which I'm glad to see. I fully blame any inadequacies on the talents' desires and not on the artists as Armis had the best base models out of the three StarsEN gens.
And whew, you're so right. Octavio went full maestro on the outfit debut stream, the guy really puts all his effort into this job.

Ame had been checked out for years, she went with that ambiguous affiliate option that no one fully understood and without stating any particular reason for leaving, and split her audience between youtube and twitch. I think most people just went "yea that's not that surprising I guess" and let her do her thing unless they were diehard teamates before.
Fauna dropped the graduation bomb pretty much at her peak with a surprisingly blunt and curt announcement that led a bunch of drama and debuted shortly after with a fan name that's one letter off from her holo fan name and while constantly talking about how she's "still" green and basically promising to continue her ongoing holo playthroughs with the same saves. It was super weird how she handled her graduation, I guess I might have a bit more corpo drone in me than I thought but I found the whole thing kinda distasteful.

It's giving feminization fetish, and i've had annoying moids try to do that to me back in my tumblr nonbinry days. When people say she's androgynous it seems like a cope because like another nonna said she's gone out of her way to undergo extreme cosmetic surgeries (which she claims totally aren't cosmetic, but seriously– who gets both a rib removal and jaw reshaping for noncosmetic reasons and then suddenly has an uptick in IRL people saying how hot she is afterwards?) She also started suddenly talking about how big her boobs are at some point last year.
I'm tired of seeing her shilled a certain way when she's clearly very into her looks.

Hana, Uki, and Melissa all actually identify as nonbinary IRL and Ryushen is a they/them character as well although I think IRL they're a woman. as for Shion, she started back as a teenager when hololive was just a side gig where you goof off with dodos in Ark, but then here we are in 2025 with holomems having concerts at Nippon Budokan and singing for One Piece and Gundam. she’s also open about having ongoing mental health issues that don’t seem to be getting any better; she was on extended hiatus before and only really came back because she wanted to see off Aqua. I mean yeah, if you have her as your oshi, you’d have to be wilfully blind to not see the writing on the wall, but if you have, say, the bau bau twins who jumped in feet first into the current hololive and join every big collab event and 3d live, I don’t think you need to be too worried.
but in the end, corpo or indie, they’re going to stop eventually, and as a viewer it really doesn’t matter to me whether its from corpo machinations, personal reasons or they just got plain tired of it. i think the mature thing to do is to realize this is all just entertainment and to step back, enjoy their streams as they are and not worry about it.

I think a big part of the issue is that they came into a thirsty market with something that wasn't being provided, but the NijiEN males were like… Let's be honest, the majority are kinda talentless and unmotivated compared to, say, their corpos heavy hitters on the JP side or the Stars. I'd sooner speculate it being a combination of her health issues and issues with management than the job content.

>>476881I think the reasons depend on the talent. Some of them have genuinely just been doing this a long time and might be looking for a change of pace striking out as an indie with an established huge fanbase. In Fauna's case, it was known for a long time that a)her manager sucks ass and b)she dislikes the long trips overseas that have become basically mandatory with the job exiting the pandemic. So exit seemes natural for her. And so on.
I'm not saying this to defend Cover because I'm neutral on them at best and most times critical. But I think an inherent issue of corporate vtubing is that once a chuuba gets big enough and establishes her paypigs, it's almost always going to be a better deal being indie. A lot of people don't seem to consider that factor because they weigh things like friends within the company and such too heavily, but when you think of it like any other job, employees aren't going to stay with the lesser deal just because of their work friends or whatever.

>>480371watching vtubers is the same as watching any other video content creator. As a veteran vtuber fan, I would say its worth it! But sadly, because of vtubing becoming mainstream (and avg vtuber fan being a man) its a lot harder to find a good vtuber to watch. If you were to watch an indie vtuber, i would recommend searching for people who have lower viewership and don't overshare their life on twitter (the first red flag ((you might know yourself since you are on lc)) are vtubers who spam on twitter all the time, there is even a name for them called vtweeters). Just find someone who is playing your favorite game or does hobby/art/crafts and start from there
I would love to recommend my favorite indies who do not pander to men at all and are being themselves, but i worry that vt moids might be lurking this thread.
I can recommend some corporation ones, though
HoloEN:
>Ninomae Inanis for (especially!) Art streams. I love her first year art streams where she practices and improves with you. She is actually an established artist now, drawing illustrations for light novels (one of them got an anime adaptation recently). You might have seen her works for arknights and azur lane, too. I like her chatting streams and game streams, like Bayonetta for example. She is very lovely but she does not stream a lot because she has 2 jobs.>(graduated, now is Nimi Nightmare) Fauna. She is a smart woman who has a lot to talk about, i enjoy watching her play Sims 2.>Ouro Kronii. Professional voice actress, you might have heard one of the many of her voices in indie Yuri/Shoujo Ai VNs. She is an amazing girl and honestly I think she could be a farmer. Amazing jokes, witty as hell, the most lovely doomer there is. She does not like her own models design for clear reasons, but in hololive they choose talents for already finished designs. I highly recommend giving her a try, her dynamic with the girls is amazing (eg Gura collabs are always great, and i dont even watch Gura).>FWMC dual-streamer twins. If you are into idols and otaku culture of early 2000s-mid2010s, you will love them. I cherish them a lot and they are an extremely heartwarming duo. They are not for everyone, but I was rooting for them to get into holoEN after the other corpo booted them out. Their original song called BAU DOL explains them perfectly well imo.>Kiara. Now she is not for everyone, in my opinion… she holds her fanbase tightly and is one of the most tryhard-hardworking talents there is, but i am not a fan of vtubers who put parasocial aspect to the max. If any nonna can correct me, lmk. I havent watched her in 2 years >Baelz. A sweet fujofan who is, in my opinion, the most talented holoEN when it comes to live performances. You should check out her concert performances, her voice and the way she dances is awesome! One of the people who 100% deserved to get in.Now, I will tell you to avoid Phase Connect (everyone other than Tenma, at least) because this corporations CEO pays dramatubers and 4chan jannies for the PR (and treats their talents like mud bts…), and thr only thing the corporation is known for is that most of the girls are pandering to 4chan and kf while bringing women down.

But contentwise, what made me not stick with her was that there felt like there was zero depth to the quirky interests she tried to spin into stream ideas. She didn't actually know much about literature outside of an narrow interest in the mystery novel that was, even within just that, still not well read. And the streams where she tried to show off scientific or strange interests only conveyed shallow information and often ended up with her herself not being sure of the things she was presenting. It all felt overly intentional in cultivating a weird nerdy girl aesthetic without actually inhabiting the persona.
Compared to, for example, Nene and her uncontainable passion for raising beetles or Raden and her breadth of arts and culture knowledge, something is really lacking. The only thing Shiori really had going for her was that she'd sometimes choose games off the beaten path that leaned more into horror/psychological elements, but even then, Fauna often dipped into the same while being more engaging.

He's also very creative too (he animated and mixed his first debut cover) so doesn't seem like he'll run out of interesting stream ideas anytime soon.

When Ina and Mumei had their health issues, they both made sure to speak about it to their fans and (in Mumeis case) other holos would confirm about it.
I remember Inas Chatting stream before her break awhile back and she would mention the reasons being her health and burnout, going into details about her health rather than just saying "health" without adding anything (like Gura did everytime she was forced to). In Mumei case, everyone who actuallh watched it knew that she got covid that turned into long-covid, which have strained her voice greatly (other holos would talk about her health too and say how they miss her even long before her graduation) and you can actually hear the change in her voice everywhere (esp her last cover). Meanwhile, Gura… Girl, just be honest and say that you wanted to leave 3 years ago. >>483276ntayrt, but when Advent debuted I legitimately thought, "ok EN's a lost cause to me now" because here we have three talents talking like they're voicing in a shitty 4kids dub. Nerissa and Shiori were just sort of there.
Today, Nerissa and Shiori are still just sort of there, but FWMC I admit were at least amusing in things like holoGTA when they actually had good back-and-forths with the JP members. Bijou though, ugh, she's the first talent I actively dislike because she was never clever or amusing, just defaulted to her "I'm cute so I did nothing wrong nihongo wakaranai" shtick, and that's before you add on the pedo pandering. I swear, the reason she moved to Japan wasn't for work but to fulfill some latent weeaboo fantasy, because she'd just be some Twitch weirdo back home but now she can roam around Akihabara or wherever and say "I'm a real loli now".
Myth and CouncilRyS were my jam but now I can't even stand to watch EN because of the association with this retard. Like I trust nonnies that Gigi is fun and creative but when I read an EN fan type "BOAT GOES BINTED" in a JP member's chat I just want to bite my tongue off.

>>483314Actually this has always been my defense of FWMC even though I'm one of the anons who called their speech retarded upthread– Korone is my oshi so it would be retarded of me to actually hate them when a lot of their strong points are Korone's strong points (minus the coombaiting). They're hard workers who are genuinely extremely passionate about their niche interests, and whether I gel with their speech or not, I don't hate it. They truly love and have an encyclopedic knowledge of idols and old otaku culture to the point, and Mococo in particular get autistically sensitive about specifics because of it. That's relatable.
Biboo though? Absolutely substanceless babble. I think she'd be alright as a friend but I genuinely don't know what she offer as a streamer or content creator other than the fact that she's constantly streaming. I have to assume her appeal is the 100% uptime of CGDCT for people who are into that, but it's incomprehensible to me. Don't pebbles have, like, things they want to do with their lives?

I don't watch her either but as far as I can tell her thing is being a "hardcore gamer" and acting like a child. Regardless, I feel like that goes for a lot of HoloJP as well. Remove the classic idol aspirations from Aqua and what did she do? She was never a particularly unique or smart or highly performative streamer, she gamed a lot and generally acted cute and that made her one of the biggest pillars of hololive during their early growth. Biboo doesn't seem that different to me although admittedly I never watched a ton of either of those two.

Management then delayed her live again to Spring, April 2025 and because Fauna had graduated by then, she had to remove that performance and the Santa outfit performances from the final setlist. If you want some voice packs, I have a couple and can upload them with a password attached somewhere. He was 18 or so around the whole sketchek fiasco (his getting kicked out also motivating his reason to do what he did) so he’s in his late 20s or very early 30s now IIRC. This one will sound stupid but is he white, asian, or wasian? I saw his pics and he looks like he's all of them kek I also feel the same about his redemption as a recovering neet myself, so I'm interested in knowing more about his thoughts about his family, is there any stream or a general time for streams where he talked about his family or his struggles around that time? I'm so late to the party, I don't know where to start with catching up to know more about him… Who are his oshis? Did he talk about any other jobs he had? He talked about how it was obvious that he was struggling a lot with his own creativity and actual grief in his life. As far as I can understand the fans knew he was going through a lot and he has been playing games about or talking about death and grief a lot. He mentioned a project he worked hard on fell through but I don't know if the fans knew it before this. He also talked about how he felt like he was pulling Noctyx down because of his disabilities that limit what he can do with them, which has been a struggle for him mentally since long ago. All in all I'm glad noctyx ended up visiting him and he had the confidence to put himself out there for them.
Kind of worried my oshi in noctyx might graduate but he talked about them like the three have plans for the future, so I comfort myself by believing he wouldn't be so hopeful about their futures if one of them mentioned considering graduating as well.

>StarsJP lacking a theme is their downfall
>in Hololive the recent gens had themes unlike the previous gens because times have changed
>predebut Astel suggested a unit but management dismissed it, later debuted 3rd gen as a unit and because of the unit concept's success they wanted to change 2nd gen to a unit but it was too late, everyone was used to working separately
>Roberu and Temma got individually popular and Astel is in a limbo (these three make up the 2nd gen)
>some ask for collabs for the 2nd gen but there are obstacles like different stream styles and times, different fanbases. If they debuted as a unit they would have kept some stuff similar within themselves and have easier collabs
>it's easier to collab for a project given by management (even though apparently the Hololive girls do it themselves most of the time)
>he envies vspo, niji etc for having members that are friends and spend time together off stream because in Holostars a collab takes weeks to happen, even longer than collabs with other companies
>He thinks they should regroup Stars to gamers, singers etc because having everyone in one lump when they barely have anything in common is not working
>Management actually invested a lot into Stars but the expectation was higher than what fans actually got. The attitude was "we did the 1st concert, let's focus on 2nd now" instead of "we finally did it!" (not sure if he means fans or Stars)
>Stars grows slowly but they got a lot of events at once so the plot was lost
>A good example of a good plot is their 1st Act concert where after 2 years of streaming they got 3Ds throughout a whole year then reached the 3D concert, making both the talents and the fans feel a sense of achievement
>Astel saw 2nd concert as a similar opportunity and challenged himself to new styles but it didn't work out for the whole group (doesn't elaborate)
>Now's the time to write the story again because people think Stars is done
>Back to the topic of units and themes: Stars should make group channels to gain female fans, management ignored him even though he asked a lot of times
>Management knows how to get male fans excited but not female fans
>Then says female fans would fight because they only want to see their oshi (?) anynonna can watch the girl fans section and correct me because he kept saying that a group channel is their best bet for female fans so I'm confused
>A male vtuber with female fans gains more money than a male vtuber with male fans so they should focus on attracting a female fanbase
>Management needs to take the talents' opinions about what theme they want their visuals to have before making the order to market their strengths better. They had some hits with things like Valentines visuals that got the attention of female fans
>Stars haven't had major events for 1.5 years so he keeps mentioning that number, saying some things should have started 1.5 years ago
>The company used to want equal things for everyone but it's different now and Astel thinks it's good
>Talents should focus on collabs and work towards goals together, he quotes a character (? not sure) "when was the last time you tried your best"
>If the management doesn't give them chances how are they supposed to promote their units? (talking about Bratt, him and Izuru, not being able to release merch) Only thing they have to prove themselves is MV views. They're not even an official unit, they need achievements to become one but that means they have to reach those achievements with no support from management
>Management shouldn't be letting the talents feel like their dreams are vanishing
>Going viral isn't good, it brings in new fans that don't care about you but just wants viral moments. Stable and slow is better
>He always wanted to be loved by a small number of people instead of being liked by a big number but the management always reminds them that they need numbers to get opportunities
>Normally the company supports the talent in achieving the liver's goal but in Cover they expect the talent to help in achieving the company's goal so he stopped caring about what the company aims for
>Mentions crowdfunding as an option when the company can't pay for their concerts, acknowledges that people will question where their money for merch went, doesn't elaborate
I get his points about management support, but it's not like they didn't get many opportunities already. He says he wants a steady slow growth but also that he wants more concerts which cost a lot of money and even before that, need numbers to prove to management that it's not a waste. Also can't help but feel like the others (might include Astel since we only know his pov) don't try nearly enough to become a unit that collabs regularly because how hard can getting together once every two months to play the latest viral coop game be? Some Japanese comments are mentioning that at some point we have to admit that it's the talent's ability to gain fans through streams that's important, regardless of how much support they for concerts and events. If Nijisanji can succeed this much with female fans there's definitely a market for Stars to get into, and everyone knows they exist so it's on the talents to join out of company projects and collabs to promote themselves. StarsEN seems to be doing well in that aspect. Do you nonnies agree? I know there are some Stars viewers here so I would like to hear more.

>>487814>>487752I think Izuru and Astel both had the talent and personality to go far as a unit like Chronoir but they've been at it so long that they're both out of gas and ambition. Astel in particular could have done a lot in a unut like ROFMAO or Chronoir where they get regular variety segments and such but like… Even though it sounds like management invested a lot in them, I agree that it never seemed like they knew how to grow male idols. When I was into Stars I never got the sense of excitement I got from watching the girls from Holo or the guys from Niji where I got hyped up for events and their journey as performers. Maybe a few years ago (like quarantine era) there was this big sense of waiting to see thier potential pay off but starting a couple years ago it started feeling like they were just doggypaddling in the water trying to keep afloat and my excitement died off.
I like a lot of the guys, but Izuru and Astel I feel the worst for because their time struggling in Stars has always sounded like it made them mentally ill or exacerbated whatever preexisting mental illness they might have had. I've listened to both of them, separately, talk a lot about how lonely they are and felt especially bad in Izuru's case because he spent so much time on the Stars in college that he never managed to make school friends or normal memories for that time period, with little payoff on the entertainer side. And Astel always seemed like he was the one trying the hardest to elevate the Stars into an actual group of performers beyond basic streaming, but he crashed hard about a year or two ago after hitting a financial wall.
StarsEN is whatever, like they struggle but I think there'a a greater sense of camraderie there and some of those boys have genuinely fostered fanbases that are able to financially support their activities. I've always felt worse for the JP Stars, especially the earlier gens, because they struggled their way up to a mediocre point from absolutely nothing.
No. 487848
>>487841Even NijiEN seems like they have a stronger Japanese female fanbase than StarsJP. Really curious how they fucked up the branding and marketing. I would say the boys (at least Izuru afaik) acting like they're above fanservice would be the reason but look at Shu Yamino, he never came close to fan service but he has a huge Japanese (female) fanbase.
>>487845Astel also showed himself off in some tournament/s and was collaborating with fps players from both EN and JP spheres then suddenly I never saw him again. That's why I'm shocked that he complains about not being able to collab with fps players within Stars because other fps vtubers collab with different companies all the time. I think they need a realistic trajectory for their personal branding and accept the bad that comes with it, like Astel accepting that people will watch him to see his gaming skills and not be a die hard fan when he starts to show up in fps spaces.

>>487752A few opinions as someone that mostly watches Niji JP:
>female fans would fight because they only want to see their oshi This is a weird concept to me too, but I do see drama happen with male-only unit fanbases where fans either get upset over their oshi getting ''less'' or ''worse'' content compared to his unitmates, or over the focus being more on the teetee (fujobait) between the members rather than inidividual fan interaction. I don't know if these are what he meant, but there's definitely some kind of unique autism that fans of these groups often have.
>he envies vspo, niji etc for having members that are friends and spend time together off stream because in Holostars a collab takes weeks to happenSomething I have always wondered is, why don't the stars guys try to interact with other bigger male vtubers more themselves? Plenty of the niji jp guys are friendly and open to doing collabs outside of the corpo. It might not directly gain them new fans, but it would at least put them on more people's radars. I've seen some of the stars guys try to establish connections in events with VCR, but they proceeded to do nothing with them afterwards.
>Going viral isn't good, it brings in new fans that don't care about you but just wants viral moments. I kind of agree on this personally, new fans gained through going viral usually don't stick and they often don't follow the community etiquette, although I can see why management would value pure numbers.
Astel talks a lot about how to gain a female fanbase, but from what I've seen of him, he does a lot of things that would completely put off said female fans. Sorry to be blunt here, but most people who want to watch 'male idols' would probably avoid guys who are known to flirt with female vtubers on stream often. I don't know if Astel's whole ''being creepy towards female vtubers'' bit was an attempt at going viral because of management's pressure, but that type of content is essentially the opposite of what people who want to watch cute boys being cute want to see. Not saying they can't interact with girls at all (I mean, look at Niji), but it has to be done with respect and preferably with no flirting/shipbaiting.
Overall, he makes some good points but I think there's a lot of issues they could try to fix themselves before trying to rely on management. I never properly followed any of them, so I can't provide opinions on specific members.

>>487877I doubt there's any real limitations when it comes to Holo/Niji JP collabs, I mean on the girls' side they're even doing a shared baseball event. Nijis can collab pretty freely, so I would be surprised if that wasn't the case with stars somehow.
I remember when Uyu played with Kanae one time, and Kanae's fans even took a liking to him, but Uyu for some reason didn't have his own pov up for that collab, I found that weird.

>>487814>his streams are repetitive and there's nothing other than covers to look forward toUnfortunately this is the reason why I stopped watching him (and Stars in general) around late 2023. I was initially excited when he picked up Valorant a few years ago since eSports was starting to make it popular in Japan, and I thought it'd be a good chance for him to network with other Vtubers he had previously interacted with such as Kanae. In reality it was the beginning of the end, with nothing but long, uninteresting Twitch streams without meaningful commentary. His situation makes me sad because he definitely had ambition and mentioned several music projects on stream that never materialized
(most likely due to his manic depression which he's mentioned both as Izuru and as his roommate) and he simply went back to… doing whatever. A friend of mine seldomly keeps an eye on the group (she used to oshi Izuru too) and from what she says, nothing has really changed. I came out jaded from all the numberfagging I did back in my /vt/ days and waiting for things to improve, so at this point I believe it was a matter of timing and place (and COVER's initial piss poor marketing.) I can't see them blowing up just like how NijiJP males constantly do. It's frustrating.

Re:management, there was a big shift in management a couple years back and IMO it hasn't been the same since. Shinove left, and Yagoo presumably got busier with how the girls' side blew up, and Stars seems to have been left in the dust.
Speaking as a former Sapling, you can stick around just because you gel really well with their streaming style, even if they're not innovating or working on any cool big projects.

Like Ame's time detective setting and interactions with everyone else in Myth or Council got a lot of fans' creative juices flowing and there was so much interesting stuff to make or see. Some jerboa train conductor derping around by herself is just so milquetoast in comparison.
On the other hand I also agree that some people can be extremely dramatic about graduations. I'm reading pre-chat in Mumei's graduation stream right now and a lot of the comments are giving me second-hand cringe.

Most stuff from 2014 is expired now, even if it had been actual rape. But the Reddit post about quid pro quo sex/relationship is still fairly recent, and of the person finally sued, then quitting and purging Ike Eveland could be a decision. It could also be a reason for Nijisanji to kick him out.

For currently content, I find Hoshirube Sho of NijiJP to be very easy to understand.
Something I also want to note is the importance of comprehensible input when it comes to seeking JP streamers for immersion– basically if you're at an early level where you're asking for simple Japanese, you don't want a streamer who is heavy on zatsus or text-based games. The more visual the stream is, the better.

Also don't know why people keep bringing up FWMC unprompted? What do they have to do with NijiEN being a provably bad corpo with a consistent outpouring of drama and damaged ex-livers? This isn't a tribalistic assertion.

>>489221I'd say that his popularity comes from being able to balance appealing to both male and female fans, without filtering either side. As you said, he does have a majorly male viewership when streaming (so does Kanae, by the way), but he has more 'dedicated' female fans that follow him for his idol acitivities, buy his merch, show up to his lives, etc. He's kind of both a gamer and an idol, and he puts a lot of time into both things. Even if you see him practicing for a tournament 10 hours a day for a week, he could announce a CD or a live right after and his fans wouldn't be surprised by that. Another thing he balances well is solo content vs unit content (although autistic solo fan vs fujo arguments still tend to happen among his fanbase).
As for his streams specifically, he's just generally funny and easy to watch, plus even when he's tryharding in a game he keeps the chat interaction up and tries to read a lot of superchats. During things like tournaments he often creates ''storylines'' of sorts which is why a lot of people tune into those. Plus, even after all these years he's still pretty socially awkward so people enjoy seeing him interact with people he doesn't know well.
In comparison, while Kanae is also a gamer, he does lean a bit more towards being an idol and appealing to gachikois (both male and female in his case), and he just has a bit less mainstream appeal overall.
I also personally think there's some streaming-related things he doesn't handle too well such as trying to stream on two platforms consistently, but that's a bit too specific to name as a reason. At the end of the day, as someone that watches both, I don't really care about Kuzuha having more viewers, and I don't think Kanae really cares about it either when he's the one that has supported Kuzuha from day 1 (back when Kanae was the one with a bigger and more stable fanbase), and still continues to do so. Not to mention that they're basically the biggest vtuber corpo duo in terms of content and all the things they've accomplished together, comparing them or trying to force a non-friendly rivalrly is stupid.

>>489345>gachikois (both male and female in his case)Interesting, I didn't know that he had male gachikois.
>comparing them or trying to force a non-friendly rivalrly is stupidNot my intention at all, sorry if it came off that way. I was just genuinely curious after seeing Kuzuha in a vtuber viewership/growth chart recently– he doesn't personally appeal to me much so I wanted other opinions.
I used to watch a lot of Kanae, fell off for a couple years, and now only watch the weekly ChroNoir variety show. Prior to that most of my familiarity with Kuzuha came from the dokuzuhonsha era. I think in those places, Kuzuha mostly gets showcased just as his vtuber persona, so it's neat to hear from a consistent fan of the unit about his general strengths as a streamer.

>>489364>I didn't know that he had male gachikois. He has a lot, back when people in Niji were allowed to play games with their fans while using VC there were a ton of guys who would come and simp for him, to the point where was jokingly calling his fans his boyfriends. Even during lives, there's more male fans than what you would expect (although it's still mostly female fans obviously). The Niji JP fanbase isn't super gendered in general, there's female livers with big female fanbases and male livers with big male fanbases, which is cool to see.
>Not my intention at all, sorry if it came off that way. Oh don't worry, I didn't mean you, mostly the people who try to force a rivalrly when it doesn't really exist (and it's either numberfags who have never seen a single stream or their own fans who want to see their oshi be #1).
>in those places, Kuzuha mostly gets showcased just as his vtuber personaThat's definitely true, during his streams he also often interacts with big and popular JP fleshstreamers so the atmosphere and how you see him can differ depending on which content of his you mostly watch, plus with both Chronoir and Dokuzunhonsha he has pretty unique dynamics/interactions.
Both of them are pretty hardworking to the point where it can be hard to keep up with everything they're involved with, I just hope it doesn't lead to them burning out in the future.

>>489370>Both of them are pretty hardworking to the point where it can be hard to keep up with everything they're involved with, I just hope it doesn't lead to them burning out in the future.Yeah, I feel like Nijisanji really struck gold with them. Regardless of if they appeal to an individual or not, the sheer breadth of content they cover as entertainers is impressive. It's also pretty rare to see a popular dynamic keep going for so many years– a lot of similar groups or duos I've enjoyed over the years eventually get tired of being defined by each other and such (understandable, if that's not what you want) and stop doing showing up together in streams. With Chronoir I feel like they're both individually strong and keep each other going.
Maybe I'll give Kuzuha another shot one of these days! Thanks for the info, nonna.
>The Niji JP fanbase isn't super gendered in general, there's female livers with big female fanbases and male livers with big male fanbases, which is cool to see.Yeah, I've noticed the same. I primarily watch Holo JP but in terms of overall fanbase atmosphere, I think I've always been fondest of Niji JP. My Nijisanji oshi is Sasaki Saku and I've never felt out of place as her viewer, whereas with Holo even as a koronesuki I always feel an undercurrent of incongruency with most the other fans.
No. 489379
>>489375>the sheer breadth of content they cover as entertainers is impressiveThis is why I feel like I can recommend the both of them even to someone who may get filtered by things such as fps streams or tournaments, because that's far from the only thing that they do.
>With Chronoir I feel like they're both individually strong and keep each other goingPretty much, that's also one of their strengths. I sometimes see the misconception about Chronoir being something that management started and encouraged, but until a few years ago it was 100% led by Kanae and Kuzuha themselves, and their success is a part of the reason why we get a lot of units (with an unit channel on debut) nowadays. They genuinely enjoy each other's company, and their fans have also learned to not act too annoying(asking for collabs, only caring for duo content and not individual content, just being too uncomfortably open with shipping in public etc) so it all continues to work out even years later.
>I primarily watch Holo JP but in terms of overall fanbase atmosphere, I think I've always been fondest of Niji JP. I also occasionally watch some of the Holo JP girls, but I have to do my best to ignore the community at times. The Niji JP fanbase has sort of matured over time, and as a result livers need to walk on eggshells less compared to the Holo talents. I wish it wasn't like that, but it's probably impossible for the Holo community to improve unless some really big changes happen.
Sasaki is great, I've always enjoyed her energy, plus her duo with Shiina.

>>489379Yep– I'm definitely somebody who gets filtered by FPS but what keeps me going with chronoir is that they do feel like they're on that "idol grind" in the ways that I like best: always trying to improve instead of being satisfied with stagnant content, providing variety to capture audience, and so on.
>Sasaki is great, I've always enjoyed her energy, plus her duo with Shiina.SakuYui is really fun, I wish the duo would do more content as entertainers, but I'm not going to push it. I especially love it when they show up to goof around with chronoir. The free-spirited atmosphere of old friends you get from ex-Gamers interactions is something so uniquely Niji.
>their fans have also learned to not act too annoying>Niji JP fanbase has sort of matured over timeI've been around since… 2019 I think? On and off. And I agree a lot. The beginning was rough, and there was a rough patch a couple years back from my POV of fans really not knowing how to respect boundaries and weaving crazy negative narratives out of thin air. But these days everything feels very relaxed.
It might just be a difference in taste but Holo's fanbase on the other hand has this sense of feverish cultishness that I prefer not to be a part of despite my kamioshi being in that org. I feel like their business model would have to fundamentally change for that to shift but I doubt there's any incentive for it to.

It's also a fact that, even with the Sinder thing, it's much rarer to see women sexually exploit fans. For men, it's often like waiting for the other shoe to drop. And you never know which ones. It's fun to watch them, but recently it's been hard to not be guarded. After watching multiple male oshis do that, it's hard. Plus, if you once you realize what mon-EN subs are saying, half of it is stuff that you'd usually block a guy for.
I watch for escapism and it's harder to stop thinking when you're wondering if this guy will get a doc/callout video tomorrow.

They've both had their solo concerts, as well as a Chronoir one last year.
>The free-spirited atmosphere of old friends you get from ex-Gamers interactions is something so uniquely Niji. I'm glad that they're all still good friends and get together a few times every year even after all this time. And it's true that this kind of group wouldn't work in Holo, at least not without a lot of trouble and infighting between the fanbases. Niji JP feels like the one place where you can have mixed gender groups/interactions without people on either side (shippers and unicorns) getting too weird about it, it's nice.
>there was a rough patch a couple years back from my POV of fans really not knowing how to respect boundaries and weaving crazy negative narratives out of thin airI haven't been following Niji as long, but I know that the beginning was quite rough and it took a while until things got to a somewhat peaceful point.
I sadly agree about Holo's community being kind of cultish, the most baffling thing to me is how they support everything that has the Holo mark on it, and refuse to direct any cricitism towards the management or Yagoo. I see this far less with Niji, in fact I think that a lot of their ''drama'' on the JP side these days is fans giving management shit for fucking up. I don't think Niji's business model is without issues at all, but the fact that they have over 100 livers means that it's impossible to oshi all of them, which leads to people just sticking to their favorites and rarely ''oshi''-ing the company (like you may see Holo fans do).
No. 489585
>>489547>And it's true that this kind of group wouldn't work in HoloHit the nail on the head, although I think it didn't come without effort. I think during the most difficult era I talked about previously, a lot of newer members (at the time) had issues where they'd get flamed by fans who thought they were interacting with other Niji members out of their league or being too familiar with members of the other sex… But at the same time there was a sense of concerted effort by livers to just keep collabing with who they want which allowed them to retain their free atmosphere from the old day to present time.
It's not like everything can be placed on the shoulders of talents, but when you look at the struggles both Stars EN and JP has historically had gaining traction in the vtubing sphere, you don't see the same atmosphere. There were efforts here and there but both the talents and the company didn't seem to maintain concerted effort to foster that atmosphere. It's really different.
> the most baffling thing to me is how they support everything that has the Holo mark on itYes, I think that's my biggest criticism of the Holo fanbase. I have to cringe sometimes at the things they say, even when they're levying complaints against NijiEN, who I take issue with. There's this weird unconditional desire to vaunt up Holo at the expense of Niji and it just reduces the validity of arguments for either side.
That being said, I'm really pleased with the fanbase that Re:Gloss seems to have cultivated for itself. I think through a combination of being branded as a new branch and the members' lack of familiarity with streaming, they managed to generate a more novel and perhaps more tolerant fanbase than that of the greater corpo. It sort of reminds me of the HoloID fanbase.

>>489585Samefagging with a little more navelgazing, but I will say in response to your last point that I do think there are some benefits to Holo being smaller as a fan. I tend to avoid Nijisanji's larger events because I find them overwhelming, but I get excited and typically tune into Holo's. Holo's smaller size makes it easier to "know" what each talent's deal… Whereas with Niji's big events I sometimes feel like I'm having to suddenly tolerate screentime of a character I don't know or care about lol.
Those chance discoveries might be a plus for some people but for me I like things a little more cozy and insular…

>>483737 and yeah, holofans probably find it endearing but to me this just shows that Dooby is nothing without her time as Ame and relationship with Gura and it feels kind of slimy to exploit it for Twitter likes.
I haven't seen this myself but I hear Namie bans or blocks you instantly if you bring up Sana. I don't blame her, imagine for years being a successful artist illustrating for popular games like Arknights and having actual irl art exhibitions in Japan, but holofans will still refer to you as that one time you were a Vtuber for _less than a year_ over three years ago!
Picrel, Shachimu lent her voice to a Dokibird video a while back and she had to tell fans to knock it off because they kept attributing her contribution to her corpo identity.
I get keeping up the kayfabe while they're still in the company, but holy shit once they're out, give it a fucking rest. I like to think part of why these girls quit is because they realized the vast majority of holofans were socially awkward nerds with boundary issues and it just wasn't worth it in the long run.
No. 489607
>>489585>although I think it didn't come without effortDefinitely, I know that there was a lot of trial and error (and drama) before it became what we have these days, as obviously a lot of things were new and the livers didn't really know how to handle some situations well. When it comes to opposite sex interactions, nowadays they're neither super awkward nor do the livers act way too close, so I get the impression that most people other than very extreme gachikois are probably okay with the distance. I might be wrong, but to me it seems that the management also sort of changed how they want to market their talents compared to the really early years, considering that male/female duos are a thing of the past now (which is honestly for the better, with how weird people can get). And I know that sometimes people used to get upset that their oshi collabed with someone ''unworthy'' (less popular), but now people have the freedom to collab with whoever they want, even outside of the corpo.
It's really come a long way, I some Holos did manage to get a similar sort of atmopshere for themselves individually (La+, Towa, Botan etc), but it's probably never happening within the corpo.
>There's this weird unconditional desire to vaunt up Holo at the expense of NijiI never understood it. I'm grateful to Niji for providing my oshis with a lot of opportunities, but I'm not going to pretend like everything they do is 100% right and correct (it isn't). Some people are just obsessed with proving that their corpo is superior, and I get the feeling that they prioritize that over.. actually enjoying the talents themselves.
It's good to hear that Re:Gloss has a bit better fanbase, I only really kept up with Ao but I could tell that Cover was trying to do things a bit differently with them.
>>489586I get it, the big events can be quite overwhelming, but I tend to just focus on what my oshis are doing and try to enjoy the new and fresh interactions that end up happening, rather than attempting to keep up with what everyone is up to. >>489589Nonna, it's pretty clear that they always knew. Maybe they're finding out what being the "product" in the profit oriented corporate world is like. Maybe it's the Japanese work culture. Maybe it's because Yagoo stepped back. Maybe it's A-chan's replacements. Whatever the reason, lots of talents suddenly have creative differences or disagreements with management. I think something similar (but much worse) happened with Niji. Just be glad this mangement is letting them leave gracefully without overt issues. Maybe the management also know the fans don't have boundaries kek. Neither talents not management wants another Rushia or Mel situation. Or a MagVes "graduation". No one's happy that way.
Whatever the case, you have to acknowledge the girls didn't have issues with the fanbase till now. Many people are slowly trickling out and we won't know how many to they're all done leaving. victims for god knows how long because Niji won't just pull the rug and fire him despite having terminated several women for less. If anybody's straggling around to support that branch it's because they don't care as long as they get their "female pandering" vtubers.
I get why it's not logistically realistic, but I wish Niji would do what they did to the KR branch (which had recurring issues with bullying between members and mismanagement) and absorb it into JP for more direct supervision. EN has not proven itself to be a branch that can handle independent operations without festering.
>>489607>I might be wrong, but to me it seems that the management also sort of changed how they want to market their talents compared to the really early years, considering that male/female duos are a thing of the past nowI totally agree. IMO Niji went through a period of trying to follow some of Holo's business practices (i.e. bigger gens that operate closer to idol units distinct from long ago big batch integrations like SEEDS or gamers, with the Niji specific twist that some are still co gender) and this is one of the areas where it worked out well. I wouldn't say it was specific to male/female duos, but they definitely tried to push specific relationships with the debut groups for a long time and it was, like you said, really awkward. Gundou and Roa, Akina and Manami are both examples where it was really forced and didn't pan out well.
>Some people are just obsessed with proving that their corpo is superior, and I get the feeling that they prioritize that over.. actually enjoying the talents themselves. For sure… and it blows because this is how corpos lose accountability and devolve into something worse.
>I tend to just focus on what my oshis are doing and try to enjoy the new and fresh interactions that end up happeningThat makes sense! Probably just a preference thing because I think big events in general tend to run into long streams and I'm not a fan of those to begin with lol.
Do you recommend any of the newer JP debuts by the way? I've only sporadically checked them out through clips, but it's been a long time since I really ventured much out from my oshis. I tend to like talents older in age with specific interests (like I really enjoy yashikizu and shachou too) so if there's anybody in the newer gens like that, I'd love to know. Not sure if it's just my shallow perception, but it seems like recent hires aside from the latest male duo all tend to skew younger in age and less otaku in interests?

>>490062The craziest takes I’ve seen were the people dismissing this woman of being Lollia herself. Apparently people are more likely to believe that an ex-girlfriend from ten years ago (who has completely moved on with her life) is slandering him instead of looking critically at the man with a history of being predatory to his own fans that spans over a decade. Whether as Xandu or Ike, he’s cultivated a soft public image that allowed him to do the most heinous shit behind-the-scenes and still have people jumping to defend him.
If you compare her allegations to Lollia’s own account from years ago, there are eerily similar instances of him buying plane tickets for women to meet him, suicidal guilt-tripping, medically induced mood swings, pushiness with sex, etc. It doesn’t read as a vindicative ex-girlfriend, but rather a man with an established pattern of
abusive behavior who went on to do the same thing to other women.
Another observation I made in the February 2024 allegations was that OP went out of her way to emphasize she was a legal adult and their encounters were consensual. If this was truly a deranged fan out to smear his name, wouldn’t it be more effective to claim she was underaged or rape was involved? It was the addition of small details like this that doesn’t support the “slanderous ex-fan” motive that made me inclined to believe her allegations.

>>489975>but they definitely tried to push specific relationships with the debut groups for a long timeYou're right, I guess duos specifically stood out to me because of how bad things could get in practice when you didn't only have the fans obsessed with a relationship of an unit/group, but also shippers that'd get upset when one half of their ship was paired with someone else, and all other known shipper behaviour. But even without shippers, you had a lot of people who only cared for a liver when they were together with someone else, they didn't acknowledge them as individuals at all, which is probably a part of why a lot of them just stopped interacting in public. Early Niji really played a lot into 'teetee' between many livers, but nowadays I do see less of it and even when it happens, it's kinda just natural and not too forced. They found a good balance.
>Do you recommend any of the newer JP debuts by the way?Personally, I really like the Idios girls (do they count as new?) and Lunlun is pretty unique, but maybe I'm a bit biased towards mascot-type livers. I saw somewhere that their recent auditions have been looking for 'gamers' and 'idols', so I do feel like they're aiming for a younger audience with most of their recent hires. I won't say if this is good or bad, but I do kinda dislike the way the acceleration model gets applied to these new idol-focused units, as I get the impression that they get a lot of promotion and support from management early on, but once they get to a certain point (like getting their 3Ds), that support gets completely moved to the newer units, and so on. I guess it makes sense to give spotlight to newer livers and all, but it kinda goes too fast? In Holo everyone gets more ''equal'' opporunities.
I think the new male duo is pretty much in line with what you're describing, from older livers maybe Shellin would fall into that category as well.

>>490318Ironically when it first came out, it was Niji fans who correctly clocked the allegations were about Ike even without him being named. His use of coded messages, new medication, and him frequently traveling to meet people were all known to observant fans.
The final tweet Xandu/Ike made on his account said he was “stepping away” from the Internet for good, and I genuinely hope this is the case. Hopefully the death of his Vtuber persona and loss of online platform will prevent opportunities for him to prey on anyone else.
>>490033With the deletion of his entire channel, it grosses me out to think about how many of his streams could have contained “hidden messages” to the fans he was soliciting. The woman who came forward said there were multiple fans involved with him, so there are likely other stories that might never be made public.

>>490331>(do they count as new?)Yes! I haven't properly checked out a new liver since Leos Vincent back when Eden-gumi debuted, to be honest. How's Koshimizu Toru? Her Rimworld streams have gotten recommended to me a couple times.
I've watched quite a few Lunlun clips to be honest, it made me happy to see Niji debut something very nontraditional after a long stretch of the usual bishoujo and ikemen lol.
Shellin! I totally forgot about him, he seems fun whenever I see him in other livers' streams.
>Early Niji really played a lot into 'teetee' between many livers, but nowadays I do see less of it and even when it happens, it's kinda just natural and not too forced. They found a good balance.Lol, I was just recently thinking about how teetee seems to have died off a lot as a term? I guess indicative of the shift you're describing. Maybe it's just me but regardless of if it's for better or worse, observing the culture shifts in the big orgs over the years has been really fascinating.
>which is probably a part of why a lot of them just stopped interacting in publicI really miss crossick… To this day I still wonder how they're getting on but I understand why they took their relationship out of the spotlight, especially if it was "real".
>it kinda goes too fast? In Holo everyone gets more ''equal'' opporunitiesAbsolutely! It seems like they've slowed down a bit, but the reason I stopped really checking out new livers after Eden-gumi was that the onslaught of debuts was just overwhelming. People doompost about graduations, but Holo's rate and ratio of graduations to debuts is a lot more digestible for me. I wouldn't complain if both companies just stopped debuting new talents for a couple years, though.

>>490362Toru is the NEET gamer of Idios, she plays a lot of farming/grinding/survival games and is generally pretty chill. She often tends to stream for pretty long hours.
>it made me happy to see Niji debut something very nontraditional after a long stretch of the usual bishoujo and ikemenYeah, I'd have a little bit less of an issue with the acceleration if so many of their recent designs weren't just so safe, and basically more of the same. I understand cute girls and boys are what sells, but in the past having more diverse and out of the norm designs used to be one of Niji's strengths, so it's a bit of a shame we get them rarely nowadays.
>I was just recently thinking about how teetee seems to have died off a lot as a term? As a Chronoir watcher I still see it semi-often, but it's definitely less common overall. Frankly, I found it quite obnoxious how fans would call any and every interaction between two livers they like teetee, so I'm happy with the change. There's definitely less material from the livers' side too, they don't try to force certain dynamics just for the sake of content as much anymore, and if teetee happens, it happens naturally.
Crossick is essentially a nightmare scenario for anyone who enjoys a specific duo, in a way I'm glad that I didn't get into Niji early enough to get too attached to them and their relationship, because how it ended was really heartbreaking. But hopefully the fans/shippers learned a thing or two from it, if nothing else.
>the onslaught of debuts was just overwhelmingI tend to check out debuts (and eventually 3D debuts) since it's fun to join in on the hype, but I rarely end up keeping up with the newcomers (unless someone really catches my eye), it really is too overwhelming. I also can't help but worry that eventually there'll be TOO many livers and they won't be all able to get enough support, but they did expand their 3D studio recently and made Nijifes longer, so it's probably not something to get too worried over (yet). Holo has a better model regarding this imo, everyone gets more or less equal opportunities and at least a chance to perform at Holofes, although that does make it hard for the girls that don't want to do idol stuff/travel to Japan often, so it's really just difficult to get the balance right.

>>489756I'd say I'm N4 too, but I really wish I was better at it cause girls like Polka and Raden seem like they have really interesting things to say in their streams. Raden alone talks at the speed of light, I do watch some Japanese clip channels where the clipper captions what she's saying but I still get lost 90% of the time. I should really sit down and learn properly.

>>491084>Radenan utter gem, I wish people translated her clips more! She's charming and really well spoken when talking about art, I enjoy rakugo so it's fun to see someone in holo have such a unique niche in content. I'm glad to hear some other farmers enjoy her.

Kanae from Niji JP got a maid outfit for Maid Day in Japan (5/10). I'm happy that he made it a regular crossdressing outfit instead of a genderbend.
