ITT: share uneventful, mundane, or just downright ordinary events from your everyday life.

Previous thread: >>>/ot/2423171

This thread is not for sharing random passing thoughts. This thread is for sharing mundane or otherwise ordinary events that you have experienced in your life. If your post does not contain a mundane event that you experienced, then it is off-topic and doesn't belong in this thread.

Lolcow is NOT a chatroom. If you want to discuss a topic, you have to discuss it in the appropriate thread. All off-topic posts in this thread should be reported.

For anons that struggle to understand the topic of this thread:
>Examples of mundane events:
>>2423333
>>2427539
>>2431892
>>2428345
>Examples of off-topic posts that belong in different threads:
>>2436970
>>2438610
>>2425958
>>2424447

If you want to post random thoughts, then find an appropriate thread to post about them. If your thought is about food, it can go in one of the food threads; if your thought is about a movie, it can go in the film thread on /m/; if your thought is about skincare, it can go in the skincare thread on /g/; etc., etc..

If you can't find an appropriate thread, or if you want to shitpost, then you can use the Dumbass Shit thread: >>>/ot/2151490

Because this is Lolcow. We have different threads for different topics of discussion. This thread is for sharing mundane events that you have experienced. We have other threads for talking about food, or dreams, or whatever it is. There's nothing wrong with using the food thread for when you want to talk about food, or the dream thread for sharing dreams, it's actually better for the health of the board if many different threads are regularly used for their intended purpose.

>President Trump was on TV and it freeze-framed as he fell down

>My sister and I both went to check if the oven was left on because of our OCD, hahaha

Many countries use the monarch on their currency. Since Elizabeth's reign lasted so long, we've all had her face on the money for a long time. All my life, my parents' lives, and my grandparents' lives, Elizabeth has been on the money. This is the first time for a lot of people around the world that Elizbaeth won't be on the money anymore.

NTA but yes you absolutely can! I taught myself to sew. When you mess up on your measurements, put on what you made, use pins and chalk to mark out where it needs to be altered, and alter it. Add strips of fabric if it needs to be longer/larger. Put it on again, mark it out again with more pins and chalk. Keep going until you have something that fits. It can look shit, as long as it fits you correctly.
That's your new pattern. Mark the pieces in pen, take it apart, add in any markings like notches, and you're good to go and sew something from your fashion fabric.
It's also a base for new patterns. Frankensteining a new pattern from a bunch of old ones saves so much time, you know it's going to fit you and the separate parts look good on you, it's just a case of making the new frankenpattern fit together in the way you want it to.
Look up different methods of drafting patterns if you struggle with the one you use now. Look at your own clothes, practice taking patterns from them, see how everything fits together. When you're making patterns on shitty practice fabric ALWAYS make sure it's got a similar weight and drape as your fashion fabric or you will regret it, trust me on this.
You could also make clothes for dolls. I have a BJD that I use when I'm drafting more complex patterns and don't want to waste a ton of fabric.
Also, please keep the grain of the fabric in mind. It might not be the cause of your pattern problems but it could be making them worse.

I am so happy that i overcame my fear of roaches, all it took was a roach infestation and having to see several roaches crawl from the dishes in my kitchen and walk on the walls. I cannot believe 3 years ago i was crying in a corner of my room calling for my mommy to come kill the roach that had entered my room, i feel so pathetic now.

Warning for kinda gross story if you're too queasy.
I live with my family in a 3 storey villa. We live in the 1st floor, anf use the ground one to store old furniture to sell it later to people who recycle it, while using the 3rd floor which has the rooftop and 2 rooms and bathroom as another storage room, to air the laundry, and to store excess food in an extra fridge there. Yesterday, I smelt a strong stench that I couldn't locate the source of, but thought maybe it's from outside since the neighbors were cleaning their septic tank, or from one of the bathrooms after someone took a shit or something. Later on that day, I went upstairs to the roof in the evening to catch the lunar eclipse (it wasn't visible in my country unfortunately) but I noticed the stench was way stronger there and there were tons of flied. I called on my one of my brothers and we got face masks, chloride spary, lemon scented cleaning spray, pesticide, gloves and trash bags to locate the source of the stench and get rid of it, thinking it was probably a dead mouse or gecko. Turns out, the fridge stopped working and the 5 kilos of ground beef we bought 2 days ago went bad…the smell was from the rotten meat all along. We threw it away and threw all the other items in the fridge because they all stank and we weren't sure if they were still good. We sprayed and cleaned everything and opened all the windows and the roof door, then I burnt some incense to further get rid of the smell. We are yet to get someone to take the fridge and get a new one. We lost $94 worth of ground beef. Today, the neighbors called and said they're gonna bring us some food they made, which is just a coincidence and out of kindness because they know our mom passed away a few months ago and they think we're probably struggling with food with no one to cook for us, even though I do cook. But I still appreciate the thought and their kindness, and the food was tasty. They brought some tuna sandwiches, bechamel tuna casserole, a salad, and some fried donut balls with honey and sesame seeds. They made my day with this tbh.

Sure thing. Here's the receipt if you want to try it:
For the base: put onion, garlic, carrots, dill and parsley in a food processor, then stir fry them until they sweat, add your ground beef (I add ¼ a kilo), a tablespoon of tomato paste, one cube chicken bouillon, salt, pepper, ground cumin, ground turmeric, and Arabic 7 spice. Stir it all until your beef is browned thoroughly, add enough water to cover it up and let it simmer and cover it with a lid on low heat until all the water is gone. Once it is, kill the heat and let it cool down then start filling your samosa sheets and shaping them as triangles. It's tricky the first few times but you get used to it eventually. The trick is to buy the store made ones that are cut diagonally at one side and use that side to start the folding, fold it twice to create a pocket pinching the folded sheet between your index and thumb to keep it open, fill with 1 tablespoon of beef, if you over fill it, it won't seal properly so don't go overboard. Keep folding it to create the triangle shape and when you reach the end side, estimate how much of it can be tucked in and how much would be dangling out, and cut the extra dangling part so it would get tucked in properly and sealed. Deep fry them or brush them with oil and put them in the oven or air fryer for 10 minutes on high heat and flip them halfway through for the best golden browend and crispy results. Enjoy. It's unorthodox but I like dipping them in Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce and sesame oil mixed with grated garlic and some green onion slices for an extra dimension of flavor. Picrel is the samosa store bought sheets/dough so you don't have to make it from scratch yourself, unless you'd like to.

High protein/low card, 80 oz water a day, supplements, 1 cup of tea in the morning, teeth whitening, skincare 2x a day, 1 hour cardio a day (even though it makes me so hot and sweaty), cleaning my home. I'm only just getting into Lady Gaga's discography today for some reason. I respected her back when she was in her crazy heyday but never had any motivation to really listen to her. Today I had a really strong want to listen to her and damn I really understand everything now. Maybe it's because I went through a bit of a "pop sucks" phase during the peak of Lady Gaga's stardom, that was too bad because now I really do kind of like the pop music that was made during that time kekkkk. Nowadays though… yeah no nowadays it really is kind of rough. I like what I hear from Dua Lipa though, Chappel Roan is good but only when she's really leaning into the Cyndi Lauper sort of thing and to be honest her sound doesn't even seem developed enough for her to truly switch gears and do a country album?? Lady Gaga had a good sound development, at least in my very weak opinion considering I've only listened to Gaga's first two so far.

I'm a NEET currently so the concept of time is foreign to me. The other day or yesterday idk I didn't get enough sleep and had some housework to do since I'm still living with my family, and then I had to go with my brother to run some errands. Returned home absolutely exhausted and after finishing some more housework, I just ended up dozing off and not doing anything fun or hobby related. Until my sister turn the AC on for me since now it's spring, it's 30° C and I can't stand the heat, and she closed the curtains so if the sun rises later on it doesn't bother me. And I continue sleeping a little bit but had to go to the bathroom to piss, and couldn't go back to sleep after. So naturally, I doom scrolled on my phone for a few hours and watched a video of American idol crazy contestants who argued with Simon. And being the corny cheeseball autist I am, I started fantasizing about what my audition would look like if I ever went on one of these talent shows, even though I know it's scripted and they pick the winner from the start. One of the entries in the video had a title of a song that reminded me of another song I like with the same title, which I ripped from the CD I bought months ago but never bothered editing the tag of or copying the Japanese lyrics from the booklet as kanji to convert them to romaji, but I really wanted to sing the song while lying down in my bed for the fantasy to be complete. So I went and looked for a kanji to romaji converter and did just that, and corrected some minor mistakes while listening to the song through the phone speakers. Once I got the lyrics 100% correct, I went and used an AI website to separate the vocals from the instrumental and get a clean instrumental to sing along, and finally downloaded a DAW to edit and mix the tracks, which is something I've been planning on doing for YEARS. It took me being bored at bed not being able to fall back alseep to actually do this. It just happened. I added the vocal track, instrumental track and a recording of myself singing along the original vocals because I prefer the way I sound that way. I am yet to listen to it though. Hopefully it doesn't make me cringe out of my own skin.
On a separate note, the unpopular opinions discussion about high school was fascinating to me since I'm not American and I always was curious about their experience in detail. Will be helpful for my fanfictions, lol.
On another separate note, ever since my mom passed away, one of my cousin's attitude changed towards me because she saw me crying during the funeral, so she became nicer and more polite (she's 12 or 13 I can't remember) and she added me on Snapchat, which is popular for keeping in touch with family where I'm from, and would check on me everyday and send me messages asking how I'm doing, if I ate or not, how's my day going, and send me snaps of her day in return. I try my best to reply and be as authentic as possible because I really appreciate this kind gesture from her. She's probably trying to copy my aunt's (her mom) behavior as well to appear mature but I think it's adorable and precious and I truly appreciate it.(wrong thread)

One woman can experience both cases, surprisingly. A former coworker of mine had her young son in her bathroom because she thought she was going to take a massive shit but a baby came out. She had no clue she was pregnant because she was a little fat but not nearly fat enough to hide a baby bump, and her weight didn't change all that much. She freaked out when she gave birth because she spent her pregnancy drinking alcohol and smoking. That was long before we met, and when she became pregnant again when we worked together she had a miscarriage late in her pregnancy. She didn't stop smoking to "not put even more stress on the baby" so maybe that's why it happened. Or maybe it's because the father isn't the same as the first kid and maybe his genes aren't as good.(not mundane/derailing)

This song is what britain in spring feels like. It's still not warm until May, the wind still bites a little, and the drizzle is persistent. But sometimes, if you look close, even the cracks in the concrete are beautiful, and the way the green plants poking through the cracks quiver under the rain is beautiful too, the way the rain muffles everything in this comfortable darkness, making the air smell new again when it leaves. Life is ok, you have a roof over your head, and things persist in their clockwork rhythm, as little bits of raw beauty poke through. Anyone know what I mean?

I had a weird proto-dream where I drifted off but didn't quite fall asleep. I dreamt that I created a fighting game where you could choose either boomer or zoomer characters and they would be placed on a stage with randomized weapon drops. (Like Worms Armageddon but players can move around the screen). The only thing is each side can only use one type of weapon and you won't know what you have until you equip it. Boomer are naturally weak but their weapons are strong and "made to last". Zoomers are stronger but their weapons are cheap and break easily. The have 3 strikes until they break.

I had my Doordash order stolen by the delivery driver for the first time ever today.. and it happened twice! I think they were working together because after the 1st driver got reassigned while at the restaurant the 2nd one was already there waiting. It just sucks because the 3rd driver was the one who told me the restaurant believes I ordered 3 different times… I'm so unlucky. But this is also a blessing in disguise as I was regretting the order anyway and it ended up getting canceled. I guess I feel bad for the restaurant as they essentially aren't getting paid for anything they made.

Apparently, it's not uncommon for a bunch of people to share one account. I've also had it where the food tracker will show that my driver is nowhere near me or just idling for hours and yet my food will still show up. I've also had this with Uber once where the driver and car that showed up wasn't the one listed and I noped out and reported the account.

We got new printers at work. Yesterday I was at my desk when some big, tall woman came in. She looked down at me in the eyes, I smiled, and without smiling back or acknowledging me further, she rolled her eyes and walked past me. I thought, "well fuck you too you big pcos looking bitch". She was looking for my conventionally attractive male coworker to talk to instead. I realized she was the sales representative for the printers. She was pretty rude to him too so I just went on with my work. I heard her say she was waiting to talk to the main manager and she stood around awkwardly and scowling like she had better things to do.
I started making small talk with two other office ladies and our main manager came up and started talking to us as well. I could tell the big bitch was fuming while waiting, I could feel it behind me while the manager and office workers were gushing about me and asking about my schooling kek.
My other male coworker finally interrupted to tell our manager, "Amy is here to see you" and our office manager immediately replied, "I KNOW" and continued the small talk. I don't think he likes the printer sales rep either kek.  He didn't know he was indirectly standing up for me either, it all happened perfectly.

Then, apparently a few stories of this short story collection are about the horrors of consumerism and whatever, a topic I absolutely don't care about at all and can't imagine it ever having any kind of interesting spin to it, and about half of the blurb is just about those few stories. I tried to look up how I even came across this book, but neither the title nor the authors name show up in my browser history. Just sorted out the plastics and papers for recycling, cleaned the kitchen thoroughly, dusted all of the shelves and the tv, watered the plants, made a shopping list, cleaned the litter box, etc. was done with most of it before 10 - I even had some extra time to pout over what a poor job my roommate did vacuuming while I was at work yesterday.
Went to the store at 11-ish before continue my day of cleaning by doing a little bit here and there on top of doing laundry, rewarding myself with 40 minutes of gaming whenever I finished a task. Still need to redo my roomies vacuum cleaning, mop the floor and wash the shower doors. If it wasn't still so fucking cold out I would give my windows a throughout washing too. But once I'm done with my cleaning tomorrow I'm free to go back to living like a messy pig for 3-4 weeks until I manage to gather enough energy to do this again.

Makeup that's never been used will still contain some levels of bacteria/impurities but it's only after you open the container and expose it to air/your skin that it becomes like a petri dish (basic plastic container that hosts bacteria/mould). If you buy expensive makeup this nona recommends ben nye theater makeup and using less product than the lower quality drug store/sephora kind, just keep it in the fridge with your brushes, wash often with baby shampoo (dip in 99% alcohol after rinsing with water) and you'll easily double the longevity

Try using butter, don't overcook your eggs and let them be half runny, half cooked. Use dried or fresh herbs, use little salt, use black or white pepper, add cherry tomatoes. You can also do a more asian approach with adding soy sauce, chicken bouillon and white pepper and some green onions, and make a tomato and ketchup sauce to coat the egg scramble.

>I just don't understand going out of your way to be upset that you can't post something itt, when there are threads you can post in.
It's lame. We have so many threads that there's a place for every topic of conversation, but anons would rather camp in 1 of 5 threads and post low-quality crap because they're addicted to attention. I used to love when this thread was about anon's everyday lives and hearing the funny stories, because that's what this thread is about. Anons have been complaining about this thread's topic being changed for 2 months with posts like >>2330831 and >>2340344 because some certain anons hate being told that thread topics exist for a reason. Instead of meaningfully engaging in thread topics through discussion, some anons just wanna use the most popular threads to shitpost in because they know they'll get replies, and that's when the thread stops being a thread and becomes a chatroom.

I use Kallax shelves as bookshelves, which is the worst mistake of my life, be smarter than me, anons, and I don't wanna spend $15 per piece on risers, so I've been looking online for alternatives. First I wanted to make some myself with some cut wood and glue but then I saw an even better alternative–eggboxes. I even found a website that sells eggboxes with square edges. Now I've run into a problem though: Kallax are 33.5cm in length. The eggboxes I've had in mind are 16.8cm, and I wanted to put two next to each other but this comes out at 33.6cm and I have no idea if that one milimeter will be my downfall. I could buy just two of those eggboxes just to try it, but I'd feel kinda shabby putting up an order of 0.70€ (it's 0.35~0.39€/pp) with +5.50€ shipping cost lol. The other choice is to risk that one milimeter and praying that I can stuff it in there, still. It's just cardboard, but it's cardboard meant for transportation of fragile things, so some kind of stability is expected (and the reason why I went for those exact eggboxes, after all). I don't know what to do…

Your post is mystifying to me, nonita, especially as ESL. TIL that risers is a thing that exists. And I had Ikea shelves this whole time, too. By eggboxes, do you mean any carton of eggs? The specific picrel brand?
I'd go with DIY, googling some reddit guy's tutorial took 20 seconds.

No. 2458675

>>2458645
Yes, egg cartons. Your picrel looks great but it's a bit tiny, do you have the name? I'm not all too worried about DIY if it comes to that, I actually even drew up the exact measurements if I decided to go the wooden route, but I'm gravitating towards eggboxes because those are bound to be lighter than the lightest wood, so I'll be worrying less about the day my shelf is going to come crash down upon me and they are easier to dispose off if I ever got other shelves. The reason why it's eggboxes instead of normal cardboard boxes is because they have his kinda structure on the inside, so they won't break through in the middle from all the weight. Also, it's about 80€ for wood and 60€ for eggboxes, so that's pushing me into that direction, too.

Nta it's kind of a simplified statement, but clenching your jaw wears down your teeth and overexercises specific muscle groups while leaving others unutilized. Being tense is terrible for your body in general, there are several studies researching if this can increase the chances of developing Parkinsons. Anon says she does the facial exercises which can improve your appearance. If your case is particularly bad, a small lifestyle improvement like that can make a big impact. A lot of people who complain about facial exercises not working don't have the weak muscles, bad posture, or poor regulation that benefit quickly from them.

Which is funny because I google search all of them and look up their dirt constantly.

You know how it is, you're driving your car when a motorcyclist hits you and unfortunately everyone but you dies, but the motorcyclist was the chief of police's best friend and unfortunately the motorcyclist was drinking, smoking weed, and doing cocaine at the chief of police's brother's bar before he hit you, so you have to be charged with murder to cover up the fact that the bartender let him drive when he was super intoxicated. But luckily for you, the local hospital run by the police officer's uncle was just shut down because it was purposely bankrupted by venture capitalists so the motorcyclist's body goes to the state coroner for autopsy and they find every drug possible in his system, plus the wreck happens in front of a Mcdonald's and the Mcdonald's manager comes running out and says in front of a whole crowd of witnesses that she has everything on tape (the police were able to delete the CVS and Target security tapes that show the drunk motorcyclist drifting into your lane before colliding into you) so your lawyer uses that in your court case and the judge drops all charges. But still, the local news ran a bunch of articles on you when you were framed and now the whole hates you so it's just better to leave forever.

What type of tree was it? Most trees that would typically exist in a north american neighborhood were planted around the time those neighborhoods were built. So you'll see them all die at the same time, which is usually the end of their relatively short lifespan. When trees have fungus, it spreads quickly and they have quarantine the infected trees, which also means more than one die/get cut down

>If the inner bark is dried and brown, it has been killed by heat. Trees of any species are not likely to survive if more than 50% of the circumference is damaged. Root damage If trees have a thick duff layer around the base, they are vulnerable to root damage, even if the fire did not burn particularly hot.

NTA, but this has been happening in my hometown too, specifically with the redwoods. It started 10-15 years ago but more die every year. Businesses/homes that give their trees extra water at the roots have generally been spared so far. Especially old or cared-about trees get wired with up the trunk with misters because redwoods like to get most of their water from absorbing fog. We used to get morning fog all the time and now rarely do. Local municipalities have started avoiding planting new redwoods in favor of more drought-tolerant species that look similar enough to “maintain the character” of the area. It’s happening to other thirsty tree species too but the redwoods are the tallest and most loved so it’s most noticeable with them.

First of all, both the lecture and the exhibition were super cool and I'm so glad I went, but I also noticed something I've noted before when it comes to lectures/exhibitions relating to witches in one way or other - there are barely ever any men checking those out, it's always at least 95% women. Makes me wonder if it's just pure fascination, interests pushed onto us due to societal expectations (how often do we see men be the target audience or show any genuine interest in love potions, tarot cards or healing crystals?), or that women feel a subconscious kinship with the history of witches/seeresses?

I have seen TiFs explore an interest in stereotypically masculine stuff like grilling or weightlifting after they transition, but the inverse is rarely true for TiMs. I’ve rarely to never seen a man try to learn how to knit or cross stitch, with the number who became interested post transition being effectively 0. All of the TiMs I can think of who like stuff like fashion already had an interest.
Related to witches though, it feels like there has been a shift towards witches and how we view them too. The cultural zeitgeist seems to view them very much as martyrs for girlbossing too hard before their time and are now a sort of feminist symbol to a lot of people.

This reminds me of that stat that was going around that was something about how the evil cat population of Hawaii was genociding the native bird and mammal population. When I thought about it for 3 seconds it made me wonder what native animals there could even be on Hawaii and there’s only like 3 of them. A bat, a goose and some honeysucker birds. But the goose isn’t truly native since it’s migratory. When I tried to look into where the stat came from the source was incredibly flimsy lol yes cats were killing birds and mammals but they were killing other invasive species so who cares.

I hate AI as much as the next person but I have to admit, the widespread usage of it might have helped me in some writing-heavy classes since (I think) the professor went easier on grading my essays because they were very obviously not dependent on AI. I got a high A on one that I wrote shitfaced drunk since it was probably still better to her than one that had little to no effort at all. My sincerest thanks to all the AItards out there for making me look better. Keep it up.

Thank you muchly! It was my own stupidity, just missed a YO but so far back it couldn't be saved. "True" lace is when the flat knitted lace doesn't have a purl row on the wrong side, and instead has yarn-overs and decreases every single row. It's how they make those wedding ring shawls that are so airy and lightweight that they can be pulled through a wedding ring. Shits insane, its beautiful but very fine and delicate. Alligators are such beautiful animals. They don't get enough credit for being prehistoric and dinosaur-adjacent. I love their scales and bumps they look so gnarly and cool. I wish more people would base dragon designs off of them. I also appreciate that there are millions of gators in the States and they live right where humans tend to and there are way less alligator attacks on humans than you would think they are pretty chill. When I lived in Florida for a bit as a kid I had alligators swim right by me just trying to get to some deeper water and wanted to be left alone.

>February 20, 2023 Gloria Serge, 85, female Florida, Fort Pierce — The victim was walking her dog next to a pond at the Spanish Lakes Fairways retirement community. The alligator first attacked the dog and when the woman tried to save the dog, she too was attacked. The dog survived.
>August 20, 2018 Cassandra Cline, 45, female South Carolina — Dragged to her death while walking her dog near a golf course in the gated community of Sea Pines in Hilton Head. Witnesses said Cline was attempting to protect her dog when the alligator pulled her into a lagoon. The dog was unharmed.

Not to be a dog hater but the amount of animal attacks that are caused by people's DOGS is insane. It's similar when you look at bear attacks a huge chunk are caused by dogs either chasing after a bear on a trail or just by the dog existing at all it kind of baits bears in. A lot of people think they're safer from bears if they have a dog but it does the exact opposite it seems.

I think cats are just better in every way since they are domesticated from a wild cat that was both predator and prey while dogs are descended from wolves which were near the top of the food ladder it makes them retarded at interacting with other large predators like bears, alligators, coyotes and cougars. Even if it’s a 9lb dog it’ll chase something like a lynx with almost no regard for its own self preservation.

Told my mom I was pregnant. We both laughed. I do not have a uterus. This holiday is a great time for this joke; my entire family knows I had a total hysterectomy back in November, so I'm gonna milk it for all it's worth.

I'm getting mentally ready to get extremely high and go for a very paranoid walk. It freaks me out into speedwalking and I end up going way farther than planned. Reminds me of being a child in a strange neighborhood. I'm just getting my keys and stuff now, and my heart is racing. I look very normal.

I see gators everyday and I love it. The only time I truly feared for myself was when one swam away then circled around, swam back, and was joined by another gator. Both of them kept inching closer to the edge of the lake and started getting out so I immediately left because I was alone and it was an hour before sunset.

it took me saturday till monday(we had monday off since it was Eid that day) and i was doing some embroidery at the same time as watching them so it wasn't that hard to get through.
>how good is mr vegance compared to lady vengance and old boy
i wouldn't really know since i haven't got around to watching them, but Mr. Vengeance isn't half bad, i guess i don't like certain gross moments it has but it might be the point(like a character shitting himself after dying or a scrote raping an unconscious woman right next to his mother) and also, there is no character that isn't a child or dead that isn't despicable, which is needed because then you won't get that cycle of revenge, but man do i hate everyone in this. so there is a reason it's rated lower than the others.

I have my period in a week and I'm already really depressed and hormonal, I don't wanna do anything but lie in bed. Prick at work was being extra annoying all day too, to the point I ended up leaving lunch early and just took a long, isolated break in the bathroom so I wouldn't have to hear his voice. Couldn't focus from time to time during the day because I was constantly anxious for no fucking reason. Train home was also so fucking delayed I ended up taking an uber home because I just couldn't take today anymore.
I was taking my shoes off and contemplating if I should have a PMDD cry now or later, when I heard:
>"Hey anon, I passed by subway and picked up some cookies. Do you want some?"
Roommate came in clutch. A cookie and some cat cuddles wasn't the magic solution, but it made dealing with myself this evening a lot easier.

my public speaking elective class had each of us read a speech or any passage for 2 minutes on video and because we had 1 hour to prepare and i spent most of it sleeping, i just recited the first lengthy text i could remember and it was the fucking preface to the Picture of Dorian Gray and even though i feel like it's interesting as an argument about art and it's purpose, saying it all outloud just sounds so snobbish, and in a really bad way. and my delivery of it was so shit too, i can't modulate my voice for shit, and it's so awkward trying to recite a wordy passage written in English by a bpd fag as an ESL and trying to maintain a semi-Angloid accent throughout. i don't want to watch my video but i'm so curious as to how i sound because i don't think i've heard my own voice in a video in a long while.

samefag, it's also terrible having to speak because it's like the entire room goes silent when you're speaking and the classroom's acoustics improve by 1000% and everyone can hear your shitty accent and every slight slip up loud and clear.
