If anyone is still curious about Emma, I think I know what she was being so vague about in this video.
She started spending a LOT of time with Twitch streamer RetroGaijin (Chris) back in May/June when he was looking for a place to move to near Tokyo. On Chris’s stream he would constantly talk about how great and cool Emma was. They even did a bunch of IRL streams together (you can still see clips of her on his Twitch channel). They also both went to Nintendo World with Joey, Aki, Luke, Sophie. And suddenly they completely stopped hanging out together.

And they're both close friends with a real estate agent who greases deals for gaijin, and have made videos with him.
But no I'm sure Sharla moved to Sendai to move into a three-bedroom apartment all by herself while Chris still lives in a separate apartment that he's lived in forever and complained about INCESSANTLY (Incidentally one of the reasons he's admitted to wanting to do the original Journey Across Japan cycle- because his neighbor was driving him crazy). And Chris wanted to rent an expensive studio for which he signed a five-year lease, and simultaneously ALSO pay for the same apartment in Sendai he's hated living in for the previous several years. So he could continue to live there.
