This thread is for the discussion of transgenderism / trans ideology from a gender critical and radical feminist perspective. It was originally created by Admin as an amalgamation of the TERF and Transgender threads.

Gender critical and radical feminism define gender as sociological (feminine/masculine) and sex as biological (female/male). Woman is defined as an adult human female. Radical feminists seek to abolish gender as it is used by patriarchy to oppress women socially, reproductively, and financially. They strive to preserve women's spaces (such as restrooms, locker rooms, and health care providers) and areas of artistic and intellectual expression separate from men.

Trans ideology posits that one's gender is self-determined based on one's feelings and defines woman as the characteristics and behaviors traditionally ascribed to females by society. Increasingly, transactivists are conflating gender and sex and asserting that a person can self-identify both gender and sex.

Gender critical feminists strive to maintain the distinction between gender and sex. The conflation of gender and sex erases the biological reality of women, eliminates women-only spaces, and disestablishes women as a protected class. Existing laws and legislation currently being passed around the world allowing for self-identification on legal documents do not differentiate between gender and sex.

The acronym TERF (Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminism) is used primarily by transactivists and their allies to denigrate radical feminists and other women who express gender critical ideas. Transactivists portray TERFs as violent oppressors by virtue of their ideas alone.

Please refrain from derailing, infighting, and ad hominem attacks. This thread is not intended for the general discussion of feminism, sexuality, misogyny, or misandry.

This is the sort of thing that makes me baffled to see people rally for the "there is no need for juridical gender to be registered" discourse. Did people just forget that women and men have different biology? When a woman goes to a doctor to complain about lower abdomen pain, it could be a serious gynecological issue. Even FTMs who have foregone a full hysterectomy could still have vaginal issues such as an advanced UTI due to the female urinary tract being built differently from a male. These are just two small examples. People are completely willing to ignore scientific facts and health complications for muh gender identity.

I use weed regularly to self medicate my adhd and anxiety. I got proper medication too. My doctor does not know about my habit. Marijuana is illegal where I live and I could lose my job and say good bye to my entire career.
It’s still makes me feel better so it’s worth taking risk. I can either have a job and risk losing it for weed or be incabable to have one because my anxiety.

I vape in weekends. I have sort of ritual for relaxation: I switch off my phone, smoke some weed, masturbate, eat good food and follow every step of my beauty routine. Works for me.

Have any of you felt pressure to lose weight to try and lose any feminine curves in order to avoid sexualization and harassment? I, like other girls, grew up being sexually harassed by boys. Even though I’ve always had a “good body” the sexual comments ruined my self-esteem and made me wish to have the boyish body that boys at that age made fun of. By my sophomore year of high school, I developed an ED with the main goal of losing enough weight to not be “curvy” anymore. I wanted to erase any femaleness so that boys wouldn’t sexualize my body.

I have broad shoulders/narrow hips and look terrible with any amount of weight on me, that I starved myself in hopes that I could at least go for the boyish look, since I'd never be curvy. Although, I was one of the first girls in my grade level to develop breasts and hips. I was very embarrassed of it, and guys used to stare. (Un)fortunately(?), I never continued growing. My boobs may have been big for a 7th grader, but as an adult with my limbs growing with the rest of me, I now look androgynous. I don't know whether to love or hate it. Came across this artist and he did a walkthrough of Emerald City Comic Con and every time he stopped to critique the tables of women who put flowers on their table as decoration was pure cringe.

You still have to understand the basics of anatomy and coloring to have some decent art, buying a tablet and changing programs won't boost your drawings and you won't turn into the next Michelangelo in 2 seconds (although I agree sometimes people do progress when changing things but not that much)
