I feel like maybe the distinction being lost here (which has become more common to make, at least in academic studies of this issue) is the distinction between pedophilia (an attraction to minors, loosely stated) and child predation/molestation. Not all pedos molest children even if the thought turns them on. Doesn't change their arousal at the thought though, which is the definition of the term, at least by psychologists (of which I am one) and psychiatrists. Some of you seem to be arguing that Steebie is a pedo, and I think that there's evidence to support that. Others are arguing that he's not a child molester, and TBF I don't think we've seen evidence that he is. And yes, I'd include viewing child sexual abuse videos as a component of the "child molester" side, since actual children are being harmed as a result, even if it's only indirectly. (Also, another important distinction is that we should identify such videos as child sexual abuse videos rather than calling them CP, bc that implies a parallel to porn that uses consenting adults, and we shouldn't do that. Again, nuance matters.)
It's just as important though to recognize that not all child molesters are pedophiles. It's just like not all people in prison who have same-gender sexual encounters are gay/bi. They may not actually desire it or be particularly into it, but it can be a survival mechanism or just a convenient outlet. Child molesters who aren't pedos might be people who are just sadistic (they enjoy controlling and causing pain, but they'd be just as satisfied or even more satisfied with an adult) or people who just want some sort of sexual outlet and see the child as convenient. (I'd say this is more relevant with people who are abusing post-pubertal teens… they may not actually be into the fact that the victim is young bc they look adult enough to satisfy the abuser, unlike someone abusing a pre-pubertal child who can't lie to him/herself about their age as easily.)
I know some people have a really negative response to drawing this distinction, saying things like "it excuses pedos" or that anyone who is a child molester is inherently pedo. But personally I think it's important to have a nuanced understanding of people committing child abuse in order to treat them and in order to help protect children. Understanding an abuser's motivation is key to treating/stopping it.
Furthermore, understanding that there really are non-offending pedos is important as well. I'd say there is pretty widespread agreement among those who deal with offenders that one doesn't really choose and can't really change what arouses them. But for people who have these desires, it's crucial for them to be aware that they don't HAVE to act on them, and that there are programs dedicated to helping them not commit child abuse. (Incidentally, I'm not promoting the idea that ageplay, lolicon, etc is some sort of preferable outlet. I don't think we've sufficiently established that such things decrease/satisfy the desire rather than increase it. I think assuming such is a dangerous idea.)
And I don't think it's such a bad thing to recognize that people don't choose their sexual desires. I'm not necessarily making a parallel here to sexual orientation , bc obviously being gay/lesbian/bi/pan isn't an attraction that will harm anyone else when acted on. Duh. But there is a whole history of trying to change the gender that someone sexually arouses to using everything from shock therapy to other forms of aversion-based conditioning (nausea, etc) to "orgasmic reconditioning" to questionable twelve step programs to religious counselling to just a lifetime of self-loathing attempts to "white knuckle" oneself into changing. None of it has ever been shown to be effective. And the reality is, you don't ever truly know what another person is struggling with. You don't know whether someone you care about is hiding these desires (note, I'm talking desires, not actions!) and living with self-loathing and shame. Who knows how many suicides have happened because someone couldn't live with themselves any longer because of what turned them on? We know LGB kids and adults (leaving out the T because it's a different phenomenon re this issue) attempt or succeed at suicide more than straight people. Why wouldn't this be a similar risk factor for suicide? Not everyone who is aroused by children thinks it's ok, not by a long shot. And you could lose someone you love because they can't handle what they also can't change.(derailing)

I love how this shows a core issue I have with Jillians work ethic and general life direction. I in no way think the concept she sketched for the wall was bad (ignoring that the rest of her home is visually loud and this just adds to the chaos) But she then proceeds to spend two months on that wall painting shitty mcdonalds archways. She had a reference that was dynamic and fluid yet still couldn’t help but be lazy and obviously winging it as she takes two whole months to do a simple weekend project. The end result looks stupid, it looks like a stacked M instead of the pastel oil spill vibes she had originally sketched. Jill remembered she’s LARPing trichotillomania again for engagement on tiktok. We know she’s faking all of her illnesses/conditions and is too lazy to be consistent, but here’s more evidence. Now she is saying she had trich in grade one, but didn’t mention OCD three years ago in a video about her BPD where she’s bragging about her other diagnoses. You know for a fact she would have added it to the list for bonus points. There are several other videos where she brings up mental health issues but says nothing about trich. So why has it only been brought up in the past few years? Hint: it’s because that’s when she made the lie up.
First instances I can find her mentioning it are in 2021 when she wanted the neurodivergent label. Maybe her “angel therapist” diagnosed her, but that would make her OCD diagnosis just as legitimate as her DID “diagnosis”. In her new tiktok video she says “I remember being in grade one and I had plucked out all of my eyelashes by grade two”. Louise has an album on her website of portraits she shot of Jill (because of course she does) and her eyelashes look the same in all of them. I cropped a couple pics because I feel weird posting photos of her as a child here, but you can tell she’s different ages in the full versions. She wants to claim her condition was so bad that for the duration of a year she ripped her eyelashes out until they were all gone, but then her compulsion magically went away? Lol sure Jill.
Also in the tiktok she says she crumbles the ends of her hair between her fingers. The definition of trichotillomania is “a disorder that involves recurrent, irresistible urges to pull out body hair”. What she is doing is by definition NOT trich or OCD.
